Food And atmosphere were fine (what one would expect in a highmid tier hotel near a convention hall); it was understaffed (many places are theses days); however, what staff there was seem severely undertrained.

The food and service were good. The rhubarb crisp was excellent. It was hard to find the entrance as the street entrance was locked. Go in through the hotel.

The salmon comes with “warm potato salad” with fingerling potatoes with a little sauce, which is not as advertised. The cheese cake is not as rich as we would have expected.

Our server went out of her way to answer questions and serve us throughout our dinner. She was great! There were three of us. One gave enthusiastic thumbs up for the fish stew, two of us gave MEH rating for the shrimp scampi and the beef and pork pasta dish. Our cocktails were super! We will be back as the atmosphere is very pleasant and it is very convenient to Orchestra Hall.

Fourth dinner since Breva replaced Monello. We officially give up. We like the location before the orchestra, but won't be back. The menu is uninspired, and tonight's meal of brick chicken was so salty it was almost inedible. My personal pet peeve is paddy rice passed off as wild rice. Do better. We miss Monello's small plate format and variety. We hoped it would be something new, but it's just disappointing.

I think our table is as responsible for the noise level; we had such a good time eating great food. We went for restaurant week and Breza had the greatest variety of potential options. Everyone in our group was pleased. We had never been there before but will definitely return.

The walleye appetizer, the burrata blackberry appetizer, salmon entree and ice-cream dessert were top-notch. Nothing left on our plates. The staff were all professional, friendly and attentive. Romantic, warm lighting. One nitpick: After the dessert was delivered, the waiter asked if we wanted forks. Yes, of course, we wanted to eat ice-cream/brownie with a fork or spoon. I've eaten at Breva three times since it opened. The first visit was uneven because the staff was so new, but the food has been stellar each time.

My friend and I dined here for restaurant week and we were very pleased with our food. The smoked walleye dip and burrata & blackberries appetizers were both amazing!! Would definitely order these again. The brick chicken completely exceeded my expectations. The skin was so crispy and flavorful and the chicken was juicy. I didn’t care for the wild rice and Swiss chard, which tasted too salty and didn’t have the best texture. The pork chop was also good but not outstanding. The sundae was so delicious! The size was perfect and it was well-balanced. Our dinner included a free mini margarita at Masa & Agave which was the perfect end to our evening. Our server, Liv, was great. Friendly and knowledgeable but not overbearing.

The staff were all very professional, and the service was excellent. The barrata and blackberry appetizer was the perfect blend of sweet and savory with a dash of salt. The flavor profile was unique to anything I have had before, and I wish I recieved this kind of experience every time I ate out. The filet was cooked to perfect medium rare. The bearnaise sauce was a great complement without overwhelming the flavor of the meat. My Woodsman drink recommendation from Arman, the bartender, was the perfect drink paring for my dinner, and the overall timing of each dish could not have been better. The ambiance felt classy and upscale yet comfortable. I would highly recommend Breva for anything from happy hour socializing to treating potential clients in a professional setting.

Had a great date night at Breva! The food was outstanding and exceeded our expectations. The burger is one of the best burgers I’ve had in a long time, great beef blend and accompaniments. Husband had the short rib and it was super tender with a great smoky sauce. Also enjoyed the burrata as a starter - it had roasted pepitas on top instead of being served with bread, and it was a delicious change. The pepitas had a nice nutty flavor that paired well with the burrata and blackberries. Split some gelato to finish off the meal and dear lord it was some of the best chocolate gelato I’ve ever tasted. The restaurant itself has a cozy cafe/bistro vibe and a nice bar area. Perfect place to grab a drink before catching a show at the Minnesota Orchestra. My husband enjoyed the wild rice negroni (nice nod to Minnesota) and the woodsman, which came smoked at the table. I loved my Amalfi Spritz - it was light, citrusy, and effervescent. Good service, everyone was friendly and attentive. Water was refilled at a good pace throughout the meal and our server made some wonderful recommendations. Per her excellent advice, do not miss out on the truffle aioli with the truffle fries. It was to die for!! You can see the bits of black truffle throughout the aioli and it had such a great flavor. There’s a few options for parking - if you spend $75 or more at Breva they will provide complimentary valet parking. There’s a parking ramp across the street and limited street parking on the block Hotel Ivy is on. Protip: there is more street parking along 12th st between Marquette & 2nd Ave S and the meters are free after 6pm - only half block away from the restaurant.

Our server for the evening (Allie) was amazing. She did a fabulous job and would love to have her as our server again. The food was delicious and ambience for group setting was great!

It seemed "hotel restaurant trying to be fancy" compared with the restaurant that it replaced (Monello). Also took a walk through the downstairs bar, which has lost a lot of the unique feel that Constantine had.

Loved this new restaurant in downtown Minneapolis. Great ambiance! I was blown away by the smoked walleye dip --- such a cool twist on MN staple. The tuna tartare was also a great appetizer. The server was really knowledgeable. I didn’t know what “Brick Chicken” meant and he was able to tell me start to finish how the dish was prepared. The Brick Chicken was delicious. We were doing dry January, so we had two of the mocktails --- a margarita and a Moscow mule. It was just as good as the real thing. We will definitely be going back!

Overall, our experience was good, though given how few patrons there were, it was rather slow service, especially getting our first round of drinks! Food was delicious except the chocolate pecan pie was very hard (perhaps over baked) and it had a very bitter taste from the chocolate, with little taste of the pecan “gooeyness” we were expecting!

We had a two course Holiday meal and our food was excellent from presentation on the plate to mouth. Drinks from the bar were average. Knocking a star off for value might be unfair since this was a holiday meal, but was more than we planned.

Service was lackluster, we were one of three tables of diners and main orders were late and forgotten being served over a span of 15-20 minutes. The drink menu was asked for but never brought back and our larger group had separate checks that also came out over a 15 minute timespan. The skirt steak was room temperature with a bland chimichurri sauce, the brick chicken and a pasta were said to be tasty.

This replacement for Monello is a decent option for dinner ahead of a performance at Orchestra Hall. However, it is still a work in progress. While the food was tasty and menu options were decent, the presentation was, ahem, uninspiring. Wine list is decent. Service was helpful, friendly and prompt, but rather unprofessional for this level of restaurant and these prices. It seemed like being served in a diner. But, for a pre-show dinner, it was still very good and merits another try.

We had an amazing experience at Breva. Our server Ally was top-notch, very knowledgeable, and attentive. The suyu honey chicken wings and mushroom risotto are a must try. Highly recommend

We arrived at 5:00 PM for dinner prior to a concert at Orchestra Hall. We were one of the first patrons. When we were ordering beverages, the server told us that two of the five wines on their menu were unavailable. The next ominous sign came when the appetizers arrived. One appetizer we ordered was the tuna tartare. It was served without toast points. When we asked for some, they finally arrived AFTER the tartare was eaten. Next was the entree fiasco. One of us ordered the shrimp entree. The shrimp was not deveined and was inedible. Another entree was risotto and it was soupy and tasteless. Another couple ordered the short ribs with truffle fries and Brussel sprouts. After several minutes I inquired about where the sides were. The server in training came back to tell us that they hadn’t even started them. Needless to say, we canceled those. The icing on the cake was being charged $42 for short ribs when the menu said they were $38! While this error was corrected, it was the last straw. We don’t often go to downtown Mpls because of the insane taxes and the cost of parking. If we go back, we will NOT be going to Breva!

We sat for 10+ minutes and finally had to flag a waitress for service. I ordered a manhattan on the rocks and received it straight up. My wife ordered a cab and they were out of it. The food was average. We again had to flag the waitress to receive our desert so we could attend the concert in time. Overall a bad experience.

Service was bad, they didn’t have blue cheese dressing, they were out of both Cabernet and Pinot. They were slow and gave wrong information. Food was good and the manager was nice

Enjoyed a delicious meal with prices consistent with other downtown restaurants. (Pan-seared salmon, mushroom risotto and braised short rib) Service was good and not pushy. Quiet Sunday dining made for pleasant conversation that you could actually hear!

Very slow service. Almost 30 minutes before our drinks arrived. Food was average.

Everything was great but the chicken under a brick was very dry.

Glad restaurant space in Hotel Ivy is open again -- especially for pre-concert dinners and valet parking. Food was delicious!

I loved Monello so this is going to be biased. The waiter was wonderful and attentive but, we were on of 3 tables on a Saturday night. The food was good but underwhelming. The menu was limited which is fine but then those items better be excellent and they were not. Of the 4 things we tried the braised short rib was the best thing we had. Not worth the price.

The Woodsman old fashioned and brick chicken were outstanding! Excellent service as well.
