    I was surprised with the tip selection starting with 23%. If 23% is a minimum, they have to make more efforts. It exceeds the standard in NYC.

    Overall, our dining experience at Bresca was quite good, but the portion sizes were tiny for the price. I ordered the scallops as my main course, and was served two sea scallops, about what I would expect if we were dining from the chef's tasting menu as opposed to the a-la-carte menu.

    Everything was fantastic. The staff were really great and friendly. the caviar course was delightful and the champagne pairings were fantastic.

    My server was not very attentive as he should have been. Every time I needed a new drink (like 3 times) I had to flag him down. The other service was great but my main server should have been checking on the table to make sure we had what we needed.

    Our dining experience was below average. We chose the a la carte menu where the portions were ridiculously small - they weren’t aka carte portions at all and best as part of a multi course tasting menu. For starters we had the crudo which was good but only a mouthful. For main we had the scallops which was literally 2 medium scallops - nothing else (!) Dessert was slightly better in terms of portions but nothing to write home about. The wine pours were a splash and added to an experience where the restaurant was just shortchanging the customer. Inside it was half empty which didn’t add to the ambience - this should be a wake up call to the owners as it’s hard to get tables on 14th street - shows there are much much better options around.
