I went to this restaurant with my 3 teenage kids. We shared nuts and olives for a starter. Myself and my eldest son had the lamb curry with sides, my youngest son had the idiot sandwich and my daughter had the burger and chips. We also had a couple of soft drinks each. With the 12.5% automatic tip I thought £165 was a bit steep. The service was good though. I thought the menu (mains and desserts) was a bit limited. A non curried chicken dish or pork would have been nice. However, the food was tasty.

Food was good, but not great. We definitely expected better from a Gordon Ramsay restaurant, so we were a little disappointed. Menu was fairly limited, and some of the dishes were surprisingly bland. And, the wine list was subpar. We would not dine there again.

Lovely eating area, lovely staff, bathroom was so disappointing in the ladies, there was sanitary boxes overflowing (so awful) to go back to eat after being in the toilets )this was at 5.30 pm Wrong wine brought which was another 25.00 🙈which we didn’t know till We got the bill. Beef Wellington was very dry and pastry dry My fish was not seasoned at all. The burger was very good my husband said ! The desserts were fantastic! Not somewhere I would rush to go back to which was so disappointing

Very disappointing experience. Service was slow and underwhelming. Food was average and did not warrant the price tag. My biggest problem was with the toilets. We were there around noon and the stairs to the loos were dusty and the loos themselves were not particularly clean. One cubicle had no toilet roll-not acceptable. GR would have had a meltdown had he turned up here.

I’ve eaten at many nice places, while bread is certainly nice, the food is good and service is great as expected. Something about the cost to product didn’t resonate. Had the Wellington experience for 2 which was cooked great. Again I can’t stress the food is very good but i don’t know. Just not a place I’d go back to. Wings were the highlight

Ein wunderbares Restaurant. Die Vorspeise und Nachspeise waren exzellent, der Hauptgang war auch sehr gut. Die Auswahl war nicht allzu groß aber es ist auf jeden Fall für jedermann was dabei. Die Bedienungen waren alle samt sehr zuvorkommend und haben sich gut um uns gekümmert. Absolut überwältigt!

We had high expectations since we our Gordon Ramsay fans… but we were very disappointed in the beef Wellington for 2 … no real flavor to the meat and too much mushroom pate around the beef. My friend ordered a steak and it was tough and lacked flavor as well. Best thing about our dinner was our server Rui… he was a pleasure!

If you’ve got customers under the age of 40 holding their phone torch to your menu to read it, you need to rethink your lighting. The best part about the meal was the service, I couldn’t fault the waitress who served us. Everything else was really mediocre at best. I had the butter chicken which was too spicy for a butter chicken really in my opinion, the roti bread was swimming in oil and the saffron rice was lukewarm and lumpy. My partner had the idiot sandwich, aptly named because paying £24 for a fancy - but incredibly dry - toastie with no flavour left you feeling like a bit of an idiot. Wouldn’t return.

The food was excellent. Unfortunately, the service was the polar opposite which ruined the meal. The young server was asked to do more than he was capable - Serve four newly sat tables at once. He wasn’t familiar with the menu, so he said, making it difficult to order. Management left this poor kid out to dry. We were the first table of the four to be seated and last to be served. Not right.

The food was excellent, the vibe of the restaurant was great, and the value of the two course meal was unbelievable. However, it wasn’t possible to create separate tabs, like you would do by seat, and so it took forever to figure out how to split the ticket for our party of 6. That needs to be figured out, as it is unlikely that 1 person at a table larger than 2 people is going to pay for the entire tab.

After reading reviews left recently, my wife and I were highly skeptical. We are from the states and planned on going here as part of something we always dreamed, Gordon’s restaurant. We had the beef Wellington and it was great. The slices were about 1” thick and there was 2 per person. Amazing food and great service

Had the set menu and chose the haggis balls and lobster bisque for starter. This was good then we opted for the ravioli for main. This was horrible, very garlicky and pasta was bland. Service was ok but had to pay a fee to pay??

Service was exceptional . Our waiter was very impressive . However the quantity/price ratio is off , especially on the curry. However our waiter did make sure we left happy 😊 Overall it’s a lovely venue and the quality of the food is very good.

Spent Valentine’s Day with fiancé here, lovely place in an amazing location. Very nice dining setting, we had a window seat overlooking St Andrews square. Ordered haggis bonbons for starters which were delicious. We are both steak lovers and ordered a 1.2kg porterhouse to share for our main with sides of chips. The food was lovely however I think personally a little overpriced in comparison to other steakhouses in Edinburgh. Generally we would spend in the region of £150 for a meal for two, here the bill came to over £225. I would return for another meal but the porterhouse is a tad overpriced in my humble opinion.

Great staff and atmosphere. Limited menu and the food was very average. Burger over cooked and the curry had hardly any chicken in. Overpriced for what the dishes tasted like unfortunately.

Half the food was off the menu including all the roasts, which was shocking considering this is advertised for Sunday only. Got a burger for £20 instead which was simple and very basic. Wife got a steak requested medium rare, but was cooked rare, borderline blue. Cannot fault the staff they were very attentive and gave an overall discount to apologise. However, given the amount each course was, how poor the food was and the fact this restaurant is trading on a well known chefs name, I expected much better. Won’t be returning.

Restaurant looks modern, clean and welcoming from the outside.. and the warm welcome continued once inside. All staff were polite, attentive but not over bearing. Food was amazing, well presented, fresh and super tasty. Great value for money. Would definitely recommend.

Really welcoming friendly service, enjoyed the atmosphere and restaurant setup. Good work really nice, - Bread basket was tasty and good for 2 (needs more butter tho) - Olives were tasty and generous portion, but was £6 so maybe fair portion - Beef Wellington for two with the mash which was really tasty, thought the jus was not enough but actually had some left, beef was beautiful colour and melt in your mouth. -Side dish not needed as beef portion was pretty filling, but we got the Bean side which was nice and honey carrots I’d happily give a miss next time. Then for pudding I had the sticky toffee which was so soft and full of flavour with a really tasty ice cream. Only thing I would say was that we were put as a couple into a round booth so sitting next to each other, which some may prefer, but I found it little uncomfortable to eat with the seating position but was quite relaxing when not.

Was really looking forward to trying this restaurant as it was a birthday celebration however, our group was left extremely disappointed and left after the main course was served. Waited an eternity to order drinks and had to continually ask a server for additional drinks throughout the evening, no attention given to the table. Food...I think would be best left at over priced.

I booked this for my partners birthday, when we arrived we got two free glasses of Prosecco for mentioning it was his birthday such a cute wee touch, we were sat down and served really fast by Roy. We ordered the beef wellington which was amazing, we also got a side of carrots and macaroni cheese. The only complaint would be that the mashed potato wasn’t very hot. Apart from that food and cocktails were amazing!

There was no bread, sushi or ravioli. Which is a shame. If the name of the restaurant is bread street, no matter what, you must have bread. I ordered a burger, i asked if it could be prepared medium, that was not possible because of the meat??? So i got a not so juice all the way cooked burger. As a starter i ordered a steak tartare. The quality of the meat was good, but it was underseasoned and not that spectacular. With no salt or pepper on the table I could not fix it. The dessert was good and the fish and chips and duck sallat which my wife ordered, where also good. I had bigger expectations of a Gordon Ramsay restaurant.

Please take this as constructive feedback. The signature G&T has a good flavour but is far too sweet. The restaurant did remove them from the bill. The French 75, which I chose as a replacement only tested of lemon juice. The first wine ordered (Ramon Bilboa Reserva) was out of stock. The second (Gigondas) was a different vintage to the menu, which is also a different vintage to the one-line menu. The food was very good, the Wellington and the Pork Belly. The waiter that brought our meal was outstanding, we did not get his name. The ambience was a little mixed, overall relaxed but the restaurant was only 1/3 full on a Friday evening ( upstairs was empty once a single occupied table left) which felt a little odd.

2 out of 5. Gordon Ramsay would be fuming with expletives if this wasn’t his place. Bread basket was cold rolls the kind you get from a tesco, starters were average and desert was from the same supplier as most other much cheaper places. The main was really nice and flavours worked together, which was the only redeeming thing about the experience. Worst mojito I’ve ever tried in the UK (you couldn’t taste mint).
