Restaurant was very busy, the Scotch Egg appetizer I had was delicious and presented very well. The Steak Frites was not good. I could taste more of the grill than the meat, and the quality was about as good as what I could get at Chili's. Not worth the $54 price. The staff was very friendly but rushed, they seem understaffed. Took about 15 minutes until someone came to take my order. Would not recommend for how expensive it is.

Ribeye was full of gristle. Filet mignon was ruined by a sauce. Scallops were passable. Duck was barely edible. French onion soup was excellent. Tile floors were filthy. Cheap I mean CHEAP non matching utensils were thrown on top of a metals table top that looked as dirty as the floors. 1 tea, 1 soda, 3 desserts…..$289. Priced for fine dining but FAR from being fine dining. Too many better choices in Sacramento. Never again.

Brasserie du Monde - The food was very good! The wait staff was VERY VERY unknowledgeable about wine in general and about the wines on their wine list. At this price point some rudimentary wine education is expected. The wait staff was marginally attentive to our needs. The biggest problem was the on-going chaos and noise in the restaurant. It was not a pleasant place to have a meal. The dinner tables are right next to the noisy and chaotic bar and there was a band playing. We could not have a conversation with each other or even hear ourselves think. The Maitre'd and the waiter could not hear what we were saying to them, and we could not hear what they were saying to us. As a result, there were several miscues. Red Lobster and Applebee's is a more peaceful and sophisticated dining atmosphere (and they are actually very poor examples!!!).

Wonderful food. The French Onion soup was superb, great depth of flavor. The quiche Lorraine was also excellent. Such flaky buttery crust with the creamiest filling. Would recommend and will return. Prepare to walk about a block or two for parking but worth it!

I Friend and I just got back from a European trip and I wanted to take her back to Paris so to speak. The French onion soup was actually better than the French onion soup that we had in Paris. The deviled eggs were amazing. The croque monsier could use some work. Half of the sandwich was sliding off and should be using thicker bread. Overall, I would definitely come here again. I love the ambience.

Arrived earlier than reservation but was seated right away. Servers were polite and welcoming. The food just melts in your mouth, every dish ordered was delectable! The atmosphere and vibe was amazing!

This restaurant is by far one of the better places to find high-quality food and absolutely superior service. The staff is five stars!!! The chefs Are top notch in their field and know how to prepare high-quality meals For the discerning guests. Drinks are prepared with the absolute best expertise And experience. In my opinion, this is a five star diamond in the rough. Dan!

One of the finest restaurants I've had the pleasure or discovering for many years. The bartender Nick is obviously a maestro, as I sat at the bar and watched him create libations with pizza and style (I wasn't drinking that night, so will have to return soon!). The entire staff was beyond warm and welcoming - they were very serious, but you could just tell that delivering a rare level of excellence was their definition of FUN. I had the mussels provanciale (sp?), which was a ginger, fennel, and magic dish- the best mussels I've ever had. I can't wait for my next layover in SAC, I'll be headed straight back.

During our previous visits here, we really enjoyed the food and service. Unfortunately, this time, we only enjoyed the service. Alex did a great job. He was friendly, attentive, and always smiled. However, the food this time was bland and overcooked (esp the fish). The risotto was under seasoned and only luke warm. We like to come here when we’re downtown (for Kings games, Broadway shows, etc). However, based on this last experience, we will probably not be back for awhile…sadly…John

We were a group of 4 and sat inside. The menus were well-used and stained. I ordered the special of Halibut on risotto with vegetables. The halibut was great, the risotto was too mushy for my taste. Also, the fish was hot, but the risotto and vegetables were room temperature. I guess the plate sat dressed while the fish was cooking. IDK. My husband's scallops were similar, the scallops were hot, the vegetables were cold. I also felt our waiter could have been more attentive. We were looking to order more wine, but by the time he came to our table, we had finished and were moving on to dessert. I expected more from a restaurant in this price range.

My gosh, we love the food. My gosh, the service stinks. Our server visited the table 17 minutes after we were seated. And the first comment was open “we knew it was going to be busy; we just didn’t plan enough staff. Sorry about that.” Aziz knows better. I’ve had the same discussed with him several times but still, the planning doesn’t change. Time after time, our mantra is the same “do we give up the good food because of the slow service? Or do we tolerate the slow service because of the good food?” I think we reached a compromise - we don’t visit as often as we’d like. Sometimes you want something off this menu … but there are plenty of other good restaurants in the area!

An excellent restaurant within a short walk of theaters, both live and film. Old school atmosphere and décor. Skilled waiters/waitresses and good wine choices. Moderately expensive. Definitely French!

The food was off a little. Do not remember the muscles having cream in them. Fish stew would have been better with some fennel and orange peel. Butter lettuce and the beet salad not as we remembered. All off except the dessert.

I had the halibut special. It was mushy. The beet salad needed more flavor and/or seasoning. My spouse was happy with the pork. We arrived at 5:30, had to wait a significant amount of time for the salad, and it was after 6:30 before our entree arrived. We were here in January during restaurant week with a 5:15 reservation and were out within the hour after enjoying the 3-course meal special. The bœuf bourguignon we had in January was excellent. The restaurant seemed equally busy both times. I will avoid the specials in the future.

The pate was amazing as well as the confit, the gnocchi and pork. The French onion soup was a bit watery however and the escargot a bit under the mark, but all else was elegant and well worth the visit. Will certainly visit again and try some other options. All in all a wonderful place for a nice dinner out. The staff were kind and made for a lively evening, not intrusive but always attentive. Bravo!

The perfect place to celebrate a birthay. the eroom was full of early diners going to th opera, the Madona concert or other downtown evnet. The food was amazing; a filet that was so tender it was like cutting through butter, and perfectly cooked. The pate was smooth and full of flavor. Dessert was my favorite creme brulee. I have been coming to Brasserie du Monde for years and it just keeps getting better.

With a 5:30 reservation we hadn’t ordered by 6:15. Was cutting it short to make our theater date. Staff was rushing as much as they could but they must have been overbooked. This is a favorite for us.

Amazing meal and atmosphere with everything expected of a French dining experience. Great location for a pre-concert meal and parking was easy. Our server was simply the only one in a three part dining room and the bartender had to bring food items. She was trying hard to cover multiple tables without help. The hostess had great energy and likely could have helped. Overall great and I will be back

The French onion soup was excellent! Caviar was fresh & crunchy making for a lovely experience. The duck pate was good too. Our waitress was attentive & answered all our questions. Our main dishes (short ribs & scallops) were yummy. Desserts were fabulous. All in all a memorable & satisfying experience. We will return soon.
