We were very excited to try this new place that seemed so inviting from the street, they sat us right away and we were one of only a few parties there. But for eventually being some of the only people in the restaurant, we didn't receive our first round of drinks until half way through our main course (after a full round of appetizers), and we weren't even offered water in the meantime and I couldn't get anyone's attention to ask for it. For having so few people in the restaurant we were clearly ignored for the large christmas party that we could hear in the downstairs room who had tray after tray of drinks sent down to them before our three cocktails arrived after 45 minutes. When they finally arrived the drinks were very good, but not worth the wait. The food was mostly delicious, the crab bisque appetizer and croquettes were great, and for the main we all had the plate of the day, a slow-cooked beef dish that was delicious. Everything was good again until dessert, when the creme brulee that we were served had oil pooled in the bottom and seemed to be separating, I tried to eat it but it really wasn't edible. Overall it was a very disappointing night, and it was supposed to be a graduation celebration that I mentioned in our reservation and wasn't mentioned or acknowledged at all. We likely won't be returning.

Food was shockingly bad - burnt veg burger, linguine was remedial and it was all rushed with no real effort put in. Waiter was great. There was a large party seated right next to us who were so loud we couldn't hear eachother talk. Terrible expereince.

We loved the food and the staff. Really tasty soufflé and steak. The main gripe was that we booked the table for 18:15 and it wasn’t ready until gone 19:00. That said, the rest of the evening made up for it and it did give us the opportunity to have a drink before. The staff were lovely and attentive. Atmosphere is great, and beautiful decor. I would have give 5 stars if not for the delay in the table.

Food was great but service was a bit slow. The manager recognised the problem and explained that he was training new staff. Offered a complimentary drink in recognition which was nice. Place lacked ambiance when we were there but could see the potential of the place.

I should have done my research a little better, but I failed to realize this was the dining area of the hotel. Still, I thought it might suit to purpose, as I was trying to arrange a meal with some old friends from abroad. But the food selection was limited; and fairly expensive for some routine and basic dishes. The “linguine” was actually egg noodle, and was stiff (almost as if from age, not al dente style). Perhaps it’s better suited for afternoon tea.

Had my parents in town and went for my birthday- but of an early dinner but we had a great time and everyone was very accommodating. The service was great and food was great.

Had a lovely Sunday lunch at the Abode - I had roast pork with plenty of vegetables and gravy followed by salted caramel ice cream for dessert. Great service.

Had a great meal at Brasserie Abode. I was seated downstairs in the restaurant - it's quieter than the bar area but a lovely place to dine. The fish and chips was superb and the salted caramel ice cream was delicious. The waitress could not do enough for me. Really enjoyed it

Brill meal - we had the steak, lobster & prossecco deal. Orly small downside was that they did not have our booking. Front of house said that can happen with OpenTable? That said, they found is a table and we had a fab time.

I went for the Sunday Lunch (albeit at 5.30pm). The beef plates that I had was excellent - and filling! When I arrived, it was fairly empty. Got seated and a menu given, but not the Sunday Lunch menu. Had to wave to alert a waiter, who brought one over. My order was taken quickly - and the food and wine arrived promptly. No problem with that. I sat for a while, savouring my wine, and then ordered a small cheese plate. And waited, and waited and waited. Nothing. Eventually I managed to catch the eye of a waiter, and said to cancel the order and bring the bill. The bill arrived, and then - hey ho - the cheese plate. To be very fair to them, they did then give it to me gratis. But .... this should not have happened. So, only 3 stars for that, but also for the difficulty to catch a waiter's eye. The music was also pretty deafening, which meant that everyone had to shout to make themselves heard - which again increased the noise levels. Shame, because otherwise it would have got 5 stars.

4th visit and never again. Booked for 4 and reminded of booking the previous day. Not greeted. No record of booking. Had to ask for everything including to be served. No "would you like a drink"? No offer of water. No "can I get you any sauces?" Had to find waiter to ask for vinegar and ketchup with fish and chips. Had to search for a waiter to get the bill. Starter ok but main course underwhelming. On previous visit with teenage grandson no tomato ketchup at all for an order of cheeseburger and fries. I took 3 friends who had never visited before. Whole experience poor.

A weekday lunch-time business meeting. The restaurant was relatively quiet until a singer and keyboard player struck up making any conversation very difficult. I asked for the volume to be turned down - to no avail. We had to wait too long for the food. I ordered a puy lentil cottage pie, which was extremely hot and tasteless. Very disappointing. Been there many times before and it’s been fine.

The food was very tasty and service good. I chose the restaurant because my guest had to catch a train, but it proved a good choice in culinary terms and was reasonable in price for the quality.

Had a great Sunday lunch - had the beef with roast potatoes and plenty of carrots and gravy. You are given generous amounts of veg and can substitute with anything you don't like, and the staff give you plenty of gravy and extra veg if you want. I had the Baked Alaska with salted caramel ice cream - absolutely divine. The staff are so friendly. They have a musician on Sunday lunchtimes. I definitely recommend anyone dining here - you will have a great time.

This is my regular haunt for Sunday lunch - the food is scrumptious, and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. They make sure you are enjoying your food and offer any more veg and gravy. I recommend the baked alaska for dessert. There is also entertainment on Sunday lunchtimes.

Had a great Sunday lunch at Abode Manchester. I have been coming to Abode regularly for Sunday lunch and this is one of my favourite places to eat and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel has a musical act on Sunday afternoon and the restaurant is very busy. So pleased I can book via Opentable

Outstanding waitress, Lauren. She alone made our dinner memorable. She is e of the best servers ever. Romantic atmosphere, pity the food quality is not much better than a chain diner. If they had a great chef or one that has the resources to create excellent meals, this place could be outstanding. Especially if the staff follow Lauren’s lead.

Very pleasant evening at the Brasserie Abode, an a welcome escape from the cold. Good wine (Gavi), efficient service and good , well prepared food. Too cold to try the oysters, but I was tempted.

Great and engaging staff. They seem to know their food and wine as well. Once inside, it was a very relaxed atmosphere and on a cold evening, tucked away from the busy streets outside.

We were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food in the Brasserie - good French staples like Coq au Vin, Steak Frites, etc. Service was very good - possibly helped by the fact that it was a quiet Monday evening in winter. It's in a hotel, so the diners were a mixed bunch but there's plenty of space between tables, so it's good for business meals. Handy for Piccadilly station, too.

We visited this restaurant as two couples. When we first got there we weren't sure it was open due to renovations going on upstairs in the bar area. There was only ourselves and two other couples in. The starters were OK, however the mains left a lot to be desired. My friend had Dover sole which was almost inedible due to all the bones in it, my lamb chops were very thin and more fat than meat, my husband and our other friend had the beef bourginon, high was the dish of the day, it was very dry, not how you would expect it to be. I wouldn't recommend going there, needs to improve. Credit to the staff though they were very good.

The taster menu was a good introduction to the range and quality of food on offer. It had some very good combinations which were original in taste and presentation. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the different courses were explained and were served at a leisurely pace. This allowed everyone in the party the time to enjoy the food and wine. A very good place to eat we would recommend it for those people who enjoy a relaxed atmosphere with high quality food.

Very good although we did feel they kept bringing water or bread to charge us more. Very classy restaurant. Beautiful food and service. Although we did not appreciate the waiting on staff dropping of additional costs to our steak and lobster deal for £45. They bought bread halfway through and water which we did not order. Luckily we did not have any of additional plates and we thought it was a tad cheeky. It was my boyfriends birthday so a brilliant treat. Great food but please tell staff adding additional plates is not fair. And ruins the experience. We will ask for what we want.

Opted for the lunch time steak, lobster and prosecco offer which was very good. At £49 for the two of us it was also great value. Ambience was fine although it was very quiet as we were the only 2 people in the restaurant, although that did mean we had good service.

We've been coming for several years and have always found it good. Recently, however, it seems not quite as good, and not quite as good value. For instance, the wonderful bread and rolls that used to be served at no additional cost is now reduced to just one type of bread, with extra charge. The petits fours with coffee that used to be such a treat, are now less good, and fewer of them. The dishes seem more variable - still mostly good, but not as unfailingly good as previously.

Our waitress, the mixologist and sommelier were all exceptional and the Abode No 5 cocktail the best I have ever had. An Australian dessert wine was suggested and this was also perfect.
