While I found the booking experience online somewhat frustrating, especially trying to locate a menu for Christmas lunch, the experience on the day was superb. Too much delicious food, very attentive and friendly staff. Lovely extra (cocktail to take away and free photograph of group). The three of us enjoyed the day immensely and on top of everything caught up with friends, unexpectedly, that I hadn’t seen in 15 years. They also said they had a fabulous day.

Lovely service, nice environment, and yum food! The size of the starters was very small but lots of flavour. We had a work lunch there and all walked away happy with full stomachs. The steak sandwich and cauliflower appetiser were surprise winners. We'd recommend coming again for a nice chill lunch date.

A little expensive for the amount of food ordered. Lovely service and ambiance. Would like to see bigger portions for vegetarian dishes. The meat dishes were perfect! You should try it at least once.

Braddon Merchant was a very enjoyable dining experience. They paid good attention to our complex dietary needs, prepared excellent food and served it with care in a friendly but professional fashion - will definitely eat there again :)

The service was spot on, the food was good we had steak which was very tender, the pepper sauce I felt to salty for my liking the veges bok cho was cooked lovely and I did think more veges would have made it more appealing, I had lemon blood orange tart which was very nice but I would have like either ice cream with it or cream.

Disappointed with the food. All four meals very average. Chicken katsu burger dry meat because overcooked. Snapper was overcooked. Steak was ok. Chicken Maryland meal swimming in oil. Asparagus dish.. tiny short pieces overcooked. Cauliflower was good. Lamb good. Wine was good but overpriced at $75. We would not return

This is the third time we come to Braddon Merchant tuo celebrate a special occasion and it never disappoints. The food is amazing and so is the wine list. The wait staff is attentive and knowledgeable. I highly recommend it.

The food was really interesting with careful and unusual flavour combinations. A really fun eating experience. The atmosphere is relaxed and great for conversation. Our waiter was charming and knowledgeable. Beyond expectation!

The breakfast options off the menu (not buffet) were very limited. Some of the selections were exorbitantly priced and not well presented, eg two plain fried eggs on a plate alongside a piece of plain un buttered toast and with no other garnish or side. Definitely not what you would expect to receive for over $20.

I dined with my wife and two friends, choosing to order the Chef’s Table recommendation “so we didn’t have to make choices”. The food was outstanding, as was the service and explanation of the courses — the how and way the meal had been put together. Loved having some ingredients that my wife and I knew only from Masterchef. The oyster with finger lime, mussels in saffron butter, and the steak were particular exceptional highlights. Highly recommended.

A beautiful modern restaurant with dim lighting and a romantic atmosphere. The service was impeccable, and the food was delicious. The wine pairing was perfection and made my tastebuds squeal with delight. A perfect venue for a romantic evening on a special occassion.

The wine and food experiences are just wonderful. We might not love all the wines (1 or 2 might not be to our palate) but the food is exceptional (thank you Amit)…it is always MAGNIFICENT as is the service. In our humble opinion, you cannot go wrong at Braddon Merchant, nor the Midnight Bar. Simply perfect!

We have always enjoyed the previous arrangement where one could order a two or three course meal for a set price. We found the change to the menu disappointing. However, there were plenty of options and those that we chose we enjoyed. The service was excellent in some regards, and poor in others. One waitperson leaned across in front of other diners to place a plate on the table. This is a basic flaw that should not occur. This person was also perfunctory when asking about any allergies. This is a pity as I have been served by them before and found them very pleasant and helpful. The other two waiters were very diligent. Another glitch was rectified quickly when our salad did not arrive. The seating outside was lovely. This was the first occasion on which we had the option of doing so, it would be good to have this option clear when booking. Braddon Merchant remains on my list of restaurants that I am happy to return to.

Mother’s Day at Braddon Merchant
