Went for Mother’s Day dinner. It was exceptional. When reserving on Open Table I am always fearful of where we will be pit. My experience has been always out in a corner or by a bathroom or the kitchen. This happened. Seated in the ‘smaller room’ right by the door to the kitchen. Could hear the banging of dishes and the speaker for music was right behind us. I have to applaud Adam, our server, for recognizing that the music was WAY to loud and that the kitchen staff was loud and noisy. He turned down the music and shut the door. He made a bad experience very acceptable. The food was amazing! Kudos the the cooks. Adam was the rock star! He made the meal so enjoyable even tho having a terrible table. It felt like we were not even at Bowdie’s in this room. Give that server a raise!!!

We love Bowdies which is why we chose the restaurant to celebrate a very special event. However, I was very disappointed to be placed at a small high top table on the overflow area. We made reservation very far in advance to be in this area. Overall I wouldn’t usually be disappointed but a big element of a dining experience that costs this much is the atmosphere. We ended up with no atmosphere and a very small uneven table that made it hard to cut into a steak with a glass of wine on the table. Overall I’m not as happy with our dining experience and I would have liked to have been.

Don’t bother! Go to Leo’s or Ruth’s Chris instead! Ceaser dressing tasted fishy. I like the having a little anchovy taste in the dressing but that shouldn’t be the only taste. The filet was good but the potatoes au gratin were burnt on the top and bottom. When they tell you the sides will serve 3 to 4, don’t believe it. The potatoes would serve 1 to 2 at best. It was noisy. We had an early reservation but by the time we left my wife and I had to raise our voices to be heard and we were sitting right next to each other. This was our first and last time we will go to Bowdie’s. We’ve been to Leo’s and Ruth’s Chris a couple of dozen times and cannot put Bowdie’s even close to comparing to either of them. We’ve never had a bad experience at Leo’s or Ruth’s Chris. If this is the last place you can find a reservation for, go to McDonald’s instead and save your money!

First time dining at Bowdies and it will not be my last! The food and service was excellent. The sommelier, Heather, was so incredibly friendly and very knowledgeable. The overall experience was amazing!
