BOUCHERIE is a traditional French brasserie and steakhouse, celebrating Joie de Vivre in the heart of West Village. The restaurant prepares a menu of French classics and timeless bistro favorites, in addition to the dry-aged steaks. An absinthe-inspired bar offers classic drinks, signature cocktails and craft beers. Located in the building that used to house the prominent Circle Repertory Theater, the 320-seat restaurant provides a diverse array of dining options from the spacious dining room, a seat at the butcher counter, the intimate second-floor gallery with private dining and outdoor cafe. Boucherie has adapted to the current environment to make the dining experience safe for guests and staff.

Fantastic food and service. Boyan was an amazing waiter and provided excellent service. Would highly recommend everyone to stop by and enjoy dinner here.

Mediocre, over-priced classic French cuisine served in an extremely cramped environment of 2 person tables set up and filled as 3 person tables. The non-French offerings should not be on the menu as executed. Specifically, the gazpacho appeared to be Campbell's tomato soup quality with diced zucchini/cucumber and croutons that were saturated to the point of being mush. The cauliflower steak was over-salted and surrounded by veggies not mentioned on the menu. Except for the good(and honest) server, it was a disappointing experience, one that will not be repeated by the 3 of us. There are more satisfying ways to spend $360 in NYC.

Food and atmosphere were excellent. Waitress was good but her supporting cast was a little clumsy. But it’s a great spot and terrific for a Saturday afternoon lunch.

The food and the ambiance is decent but the service is not good. We went there for a graduation dinner, there were 5 of us. I ordered a bottle of champagne to start with, then a bottle of white and red. I wanted a bottle of Sancerre, but the waiter told me they were out, so he then recommended another bottle of Sancerre for twice the amount, which I thought was way too excessive. So I decided to order a bottle of Pouilly Fuisse which I’ve had in France that is supposed to be dry. The bottle was not cheap. The waiter made us try it to see if we liked it. It wasn’t to our liking so I asked the waiter if we could change. He said he needed to ask the manager. He came back saying there would be a $25 charge for switching. The waiter should have told me the wine had a sweeter taste and I wouldn’t have ordered it. I did order another bottle but I find it unbelievable that there would charge me for to switch especially since I had ordered so many bottles, and the waiter didn’t know his wines. They don’t have a sommelier in that restaurant. We fought to get it off the bill at the end, but honestly I find it not good customer service at all. I will not be coming back. There are plenty of better French brasseries in NY!

Overall, my experience at Boucherie was quite delightful. The ambiance was charming, perfect for a romantic evening. However, there was a slight hiccup when we reserved the High-top seating for my special surprise, only to discover it was outdoor seating, which wasn't specified beforehand and not quite suitable for a restaurant of that caliber. Thankfully, the lady at the entrance was understanding and graciously accommodated us indoors at the bar by the grill. While not ideal, it was certainly better than braving the cold outdoor weather, especially on that chilly evening. Despite this minor issue, I must say, Boucherie is still a great choice for a date night, with its cozy atmosphere and delectable menu offerings.
