We had the best meal! I have always wanted to try this place. We absolutely loved Brendan! The service is impressive from the whole team and Brendan made what could have been an intimidating experience very enjoyable. We haven’t stopped talking about the Wine Spectator steak that made them famous. I thought this would be a once in a lifetime meal but our server knew the menu in and out and helped us have an unforgettable meal reasonably and we will definitely be back.

Food and service were very good. Moderate noise level, but not so noisy that you could not carry on a conversation. A bit pricey, but we knew that going into the evening.

had dinner here for a friend's birthday from out of town. The menu is straight to the point, no nonsense. The steaks were cooked to order and the sides were tasty although portions were a bit small. The wine list is ok, but very top-heavy with prestige California Cabernets and a limited (but passable) selection of sub-$100 bottles. Would come here again.

One of our two favorite steak houses in Boston (the other is Grill 23). The atmosphere is comfortable, the service is good, and the food is excellent. Though portions seem to be smaller with the new/updated menu, it's still an excellent value comparatively.

Chop is one of my favorite spots and has been for years. I will say some small noticeable changes or changes I felt were different. They won’t stop me from returning. Service and food were all good. Examples: We always get one small dish of aioli for rings and when we asked if we could get extra, we were charged. Also martinis were about 3/4 full. That feels strange and unnecessary.

Went with a group of six and we had a lovely dinner. The apps were amazing and we all loved the jumbo shrimp. We got a mix of steak and seafood for mains and everyone was pleased. Great service and loved the neighborhood feel.

Decor and atmosphere is great. Food is just ok. There are better steak restaurants in Boston. Boston Chops about 5 years ago was better. Popovers went down hill too. Vegetables were oily. Steak was good. Waitstaff were great. Very friendly and accommodating.

We’ve eaten at a LOT of steakhouses in Boston and Chops was absolutely as wonderful as any of them. Our server, Johnny, was professional and engaging, the ambience was perfect (the background music wasn’t too loud) and - most importantly- the food quality was excellent. Highly recommend

Food is very good, service was exceptionally poor. With a waiter making a scene because we commented that it had taken 30 minutes to serve us. They later took our order wrong and we had to wait another 30 minutes for the correct steak to be served. Nobody was at the door to greet us or say goodbye when we left. Just disappointing from a place with such a solid reputation.

They took a reservation on Easter @ 3:00 for our party of eight. When we were seated we were told the kitchen is closing for their dinner service and we had 20 minutes to get all food orders in…..and it was a brunch menu. The server was very nice but Chops never should have taken the reservation under these circumstances. Manager never came over…….We ended up leaving and had a nice meal at Del Frisco’s

I wanted to love it. For the price tag, I should have loved it. I was looking forward to loving it. I didn't love it. I didn't even particularly like it. It was mediocre at best. My filet was CHEWY. Very chewy. A filet should be like butter, it should never be chewy. My asparagus was cold. I asked for a half strength drink and got a double strength-i couldn't drink it. The creme Brulee we ordered wasn't browned, it was burnt. (The custard was good). The potatoes were way too salty to eat. My husband's fries were cool upon arrival, they should have been piping hot! but he did like his hanger steak. The restaurant was pretty empty, so there's no excuse for mediocre food. The waiter was very nice, he tried very hard- but he was apparently the only waiter working- consequently service suffered, through no fault of his. It was supposed to be a celebratory meal. It pretty much killed the celebration. Think twice.

I had such high hopes. Service was sub par, the waiter did not visit the table but maybe 2 times. Our water was not filled and we had to wait to order anything for 30mins. At checkout we had to flag down another worker to get our bill. When our steaks were delivered the waiter did not come back and check on us, see if the steaks were cooked correctly. My son had the bone in filet, very pricey, and it was overcooked! He ate it as he was starving but the waiter never came to check he asked for medium and the steak was fully cooked. My filet was overcooked as well. We went for a family dinner and had hoped for a great time but was fully disappointed. And the bill was over $1000

Yummy food, but service was seriously lacking. Water refilled in cocktail glasses, candle spilled on the table, 30+ minutes before ordering, staff eager to clear plates while we were still eating.

All the meat was slightly cooked more than was requested: rare was med rare/med rare was medium etc. This was for a table of 6 and the restaurant was very busy.

i’ve been here several times for dinner and that the brunch would be kind of fun and special but it was really just average. I thought I needed a reservation but it was absolutely dead. I think there may be four other parties but maybe it gets busy later we got there at 11:30 Definitely don’t feel like I need to run back there anytime soon Also, they don’t have a dessert which would’ve been nice to have after brunch
