The American steakhouse is an iconic restaurant institution. We’d wanted to tell that story for years, but waited until we had the skill, talent and ability to execute it properly, and the right space to be our canvas, an important corner in Little Italy, a neighborhood where we have deep roots. We brought an almost academic appreciation for steakhouse history and tradition to Born & Raised, while trying to stay relevant and authentic to ourselves and our city. Our dry-aged beef pays tribute to earlier, earthier, pre-government grading practices and is the centerpiece of a meal best savored at a slow pace. A timeless celebration of everything that makes restaurants so special. - Consortium Holdings. A 4% surcharge is added to all guest checks.

Le lieu est tout aussi excitant que les steaks dans cet établissement de Little Italy. Le restaurant Born & Raised détourne le genre du steakhouse à l'ancienne en affichant des photos de légendes du rap dans sa salle à manger entièrement dorée et ultra-glamour. On y trouve les fameuses grillades, ainsi que des chariots qui préparent des cocktails vintage à table. Le résultat est un steakhouse qui en fait trop, idéal pour les plus grands flambeurs.

Overall, great experience! The service was beyond great, the food was delicious and the price was fair. The table-side drinks/ food made the expirience that much better. Totally recommend Born and Raised. Happy customer.

My husband and I went here to celebrate our marriage before taking off for our honeymoon. From the moment we checked in for our reservation the team made us feel so special. We were given complimentary champagne and dessert and received congratulations from every worker that crossed our table. We started with cocktails—I ordered the espresso martini, which turned out to be the best espresso martini I’ve ever had. My husband ordered an old fashioned and felt the same about his drink. The food was also incredible. We ordered the bread, tableside ceasar, Mac n cheese, and beef Wellington. Everything was 10/10 and BY FAR the best meal we’ve ever had. We are so happy we came here to celebrate our marriage and will definitely be coming back to celebrate other milestones in our lives.

Everything about this place lived up to the hype! Can't wait to get back there to have the uni spaghetti again along with some of the best steak I've had, and that's saying a lot!!

If you want to dine in a energetic, 50’s vibe restaurant where you feel that at any moment Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack might come out and perform while you rub shoulders with other cool people such as yourself…well this is the place. Oh yeah, the food is great too! Don’t forget to order the carrot cake at the end.

Restaurant is noisy. Our first server had an attitude when we as him to wipe table. It still had food on it and was sticky from previous guests. He then said his shift was over and we got a new server. She was great!

Came here to celebrate a new job and promotion! Well worth it! Best night ever!! Food was so good and the ambience is stellar. Pretty pricey so it only works for extremely special occasions but it is certainly memorable and delightful. Never had a steak that compares - filet with blue cheese crust. Parents got the steak sampler and loved it. Reserved seats upstairs at the bar for after dinner coffee and that just topped off the night perfectly!! Highly recommend!

I come here about once a month for the past 4 months, and this was the first time i brought friends instead of a date. I wasn't sure how the second floor seating would be but it was beautiful with the weather. It was my friends' first time here and they also loved it. Can't wait to bring more friends here!

Los precios son muy caros y el peso de la carne que sirven no es menor al que cobran. Es un robo. Prices are high and the weight of the meat they serve is much less than what they serve. They will rob you.

Amazing dinner experience with the wife. The assistant manager came out to wish us a happy anniversary and offered us a complimentary glass of champagne. The sous chef also came out and talked about the food. Overall very pleasant experience as the staff went above and beyond to make our dinner reservation a memorable one.

Halibut was less than desirable. Best thing about our dinner selection was the Mac n cheese. Service was excellent. Wish we had the opportunity to sit upstairs versus downstairs. Upstairs is bright and cheerily, while seated downstairs was dark and gloomy. My friend had the ribeye which was tasty

The atmosphere was amazing, food was great and service as well. The rooftop dining was amazing at night with a beautiful view and heaters so you don’t have to worry about getting cold. They were very accommodating with my request to sit on the edge of the rooftop. Overall 10/10 experience!

Every part of our experience was amazing! Our server, Jason was very helpful and knowledgeable on the entire menu and made excellent recommendations. Cocktails and Wine were both excellent and the food was even better. My wife and I shared the Steak Tartare, which was seasoned well and tasted amazing. We both got a Ribeye (Medium Rare) which came out perfect. For sides, we ordered the Mushrooms, Potato Puree, and the Putain. He even brought us out all of their house made sauces to try with our meal! Everything was so delicious, we will definitely be back for another nice date-night!

All over had a great time! Service was exceptional! Wait staff helped each other out so service was seamless . We had the mac & cheese, the fillet, table side caesar salad, the carrot cake, and the bone in New York. Everything was delicious. The best was the carrot cake and steak sauces. I recommend getting all 4 steak sauces. I took one point off the food as the NY was tough.

One of the best dining experiences we have ever had. Loved all the unique table cart ideas - from the Cabernet table cart…to the Caesar salad table cart to the ice cream with nitrogen. Such a fun night!

Beautiful place—- the best thing by far is the decor — one of the most beautiful places in SD. But the food was not quite as polished as I would expect. Meat rarer with blood showing, than the medium we ordered and the vegetables were unevenly cooked. Tableside Caesar-salad service was nice. I probably won’t go here again.

Very beautiful restaurant and the staff was friendly. Food was pretty good, the table side Caesar, aged meatball and Choc cake dessert were the highlights. Appreciated them acknowledging our anniversary with a Champagne Toast and a macaroon. Steak was slightly overdone. I would go back but try and sit upstairs.

Our 4th time here for dinner and everything we ordered was delightful. The steak sampler and dirty hashbrowns stole the show as always, but the bone marrow/burgundy snails and the uni pasta were terrific. This was the first time the service suffered, which was a bummer but we're writing it off as a one-time flub and can't wait to go back for the full Born & Raised experience.

We were super excited for our dinner at Born & Raised, but unfortunately with a 7:00 reservation, we were not alerted of our table until 7:40. We waited at the bar and I had a glass of wine, as the time passed we started losing interest.. I was hoping they would have offered to comp my glass of wine for the long wait but when they asked for me to close out my tab, we paid and then excused ourselves. I do not mind waiting, but I do believe that dining at a restaurant of this quality would/should have shown more of a hospitable gesture. I do not want to fault the entire restaurant, I’m sure the servers & chefs are phenomenal, but I will not be back.
