The American steakhouse is an iconic restaurant institution. We’d wanted to tell that story for years, but waited until we had the skill, talent and ability to execute it properly, and the right space to be our canvas, an important corner in Little Italy, a neighborhood where we have deep roots. We brought an almost academic appreciation for steakhouse history and tradition to Born & Raised, while trying to stay relevant and authentic to ourselves and our city. Our dry-aged beef pays tribute to earlier, earthier, pre-government grading practices and is the centerpiece of a meal best savored at a slow pace. A timeless celebration of everything that makes restaurants so special. - Consortium Holdings. A 4% surcharge is added to all guest checks.

Le lieu est tout aussi excitant que les steaks dans cet établissement de Little Italy. Le restaurant Born & Raised détourne le genre du steakhouse à l'ancienne en affichant des photos de légendes du rap dans sa salle à manger entièrement dorée et ultra-glamour. On y trouve les fameuses grillades, ainsi que des chariots qui préparent des cocktails vintage à table. Le résultat est un steakhouse qui en fait trop, idéal pour les plus grands flambeurs.

    service and ambiance was amazing. great place to celebrate a special occasion. book the rooftop table you won’t regret it! food was good but can be pricey. Would come back again!

    I usually love the experience here but this time was incredibly disappointing. When I made the reservation I was told they only had the rooftop available, which I preferred. We arrived at 7:45 for our reservation, which they then made us wait over 30 min to be seated for. And then we were sat in the main dining room, not the roof. The server rolled his eyes when we weren’t immediately ready to order. Then our food took an hour to come out, my steak was cold to the touch. One of the people in my group ordered halibut which they apparently had run out of and didn’t tell him, just brought him a different fish and we had to call it out. We ended up eating at 9:40 on a 7:45 reservation. They forgot to bring out one of our sides, they got our drink order wrong, after all this I spoke with the manager who offered free drinks and dessert, at this point it was 10pm and I was over it and wanted to leave. The manager offered to make it right and he did that by taking 15% off the bill. Which barely covers tax in SD. Didn’t comp the steak, or the fish they brought out cold and wrong. And we were charged for drinks we didn’t order. The bill was still $500 for an awful experience.

    Great service and ambiance. Took a long time to get food though and my filet was only like warm. Did not want to deal with sending it back but this shouldn’t happen at these prices.

    Great experience. This was my first time. The service, food, & ambiance was absolutely amazing. We sat on the second floor and had a lovely view of Little Italy. Our servers Megan, Joe, and Jake were incredible and made the night out excellent. Will definitely come back! Thank you

    Took my mom for Mother’s Day and it was a great experience. Our waiter Reed was very informative on the menu and answered all our questions and made a great experience for us. The extras were definitely overpriced for the portion size however the potato puree and Mac and cheese was the best I ever had. And the only other negative was the steak knives being very dull which made it hard to cut into my steak.

    Nice environment. A bit noisy. Table-side Caesar salad was very good. Bone-in steak was very good but not great.

    Great ambiance and service. Steaks were subpar for each of our party. Too fatty and cooked not to order. Sides and salad were excellent.

    In my opinion, born and Raise is the best restaurant in San Diego. Beyond exceptional service and food, steaks are always at the point. Beef Wellington and steak samplers are great! If they still have the Oyster dish, it must have !!

    My family and I had an amazing time at this restaurant! The food was incredible, and it was overall an amazing experience!

    rooftop seating is a must, food and drinks were amazing. our server megan made the evening all that much better. they also accommodated us for an additional guest on a busy night which was super nice.
