The American steakhouse is an iconic restaurant institution. We’d wanted to tell that story for years, but waited until we had the skill, talent and ability to execute it properly, and the right space to be our canvas, an important corner in Little Italy, a neighborhood where we have deep roots. We brought an almost academic appreciation for steakhouse history and tradition to Born & Raised, while trying to stay relevant and authentic to ourselves and our city. Our dry-aged beef pays tribute to earlier, earthier, pre-government grading practices and is the centerpiece of a meal best savored at a slow pace. A timeless celebration of everything that makes restaurants so special. - Consortium Holdings. A 4% surcharge is added to all guest checks.

Le lieu est tout aussi excitant que les steaks dans cet établissement de Little Italy. Le restaurant Born & Raised détourne le genre du steakhouse à l'ancienne en affichant des photos de légendes du rap dans sa salle à manger entièrement dorée et ultra-glamour. On y trouve les fameuses grillades, ainsi que des chariots qui préparent des cocktails vintage à table. Le résultat est un steakhouse qui en fait trop, idéal pour les plus grands flambeurs.

Our server, Tom, and his associates were amazing. The food fell flat. Did not feel the price was worth it for the dry aged duck, it was a small portion supposedly for 2 people. The sides were the best part, the Mac n cheese was amazing.

I mean- it was fine ! Pretentious and way too overpriced - our server was a bit inattentive with drinks, and our steak was super fatty ! Ceasar salad we got 2 croutons. Forgot our bread. Wouldn’t come back. Great chocolate cake.

This is our favorite restaurant in San Diego and, quite possibly, of all time. We cannot get enough of the bread, steak sampler, Mac & cheese, broccolini, and cheesecake. All of them are simply incredible. Also, one of my most favorite versions of a French 75 is here. The service is always top notch. The ambiance is divine. The best place for us to celebrate our final evening living in San Diego.

We waited at the bar for almost 30 minutes passed the booking time before being seated, there are plenty of empty tables in the period but they are just slow to that... the food is below average - $80 for a dry aged T bone or a bone-in rib eye but tasted bland like a frozen steak in the supermarket, not to say it is half cold when served (if it was rested in the oven it should still be hot - not sure what they have done in the kitchen...) The sauces are not great for my personal taste as well. We also ordered the bone marrow and snails but turns out the bone marrow is empty when the snails are removed (?!) my first time seeing that and i talked to the waiter to see if thats unusual - he was kind enough to cancel the dish for us the other sides are ok, we had the mushroom, dirty hash brown and a house salad. Dirty hash brown was the best dish of the night i would say, although it was served cold at first but they are kind enough to remake one for us. Overall service was brilliant, the waiter is brilliant, he went above and beyond to make us happy (cancelled the mystery bone marrow and asked for a hot hash brown) and we have acknowledged that with a generous tip. These are the honest opinion of my night, your call to decide if you still wanna go!

Our first trip to San Diego we made an excellent choice to eat a meal at Born and Raised! Preston treated us to excellent service!

Great spot and excellent service from Jonathan! The highlights of the night were the Japanese Wagyu, the duck, and the carrot cake (and ask to get it drizzled with melted ice cream)! Will definitely come back!
