Bluestone American BBQ features a Latin American spin on authentic low and slow traditions from the US BBQ belt. Chef Alvaro Malel draws inspiration from his Uruguayan heritage, and his passion for cuisines from both American continents to reimagine smoked classics like Yearling Beef Short Rib with chimichurri, and Pit-Braised Pulled Lamb with salsa criolla and arepas.

His talent for bringing together the best of North and South American food traditions has been a drawcard for diners across Melbourne since the restaurant opened seven years ago. He credits the success of Bluestone to his Uruguayan culture and heritage, which is all about “food, family and fire…BBQ is a feature of all my best memories. There’s no better way to celebrate milestones, or to just kick back and have fun with the people you love. Bluestone has always been about creating that experience for other people.”

Terrible food. It was so disappointing. It was flavourless, seemed reheated and I truly don't think the chefs are even familiar with an American BBQ. The staff are very friendly but I would never come here again. I'm suprised no one woke up sick today.

Food was great, but a little disappointed by fact that we arrived 10 minutes early and all of the food was placed on our table shortly after, there were no courses, just all at once. So even though it was a 2 hour booking, we had finished within 60 minutes, felt very rushed which was a shame as it was a mothers day lunch that my wife was looking forward to.

It was my second time dinning at Bluestone American BBQ & it was a great experience. The food was amazing & the waiter was extremely polite & professional. We had to take a doggy bag home as we couldn’t fit everything in.

Amazing!!!!!! We ordered 5 'Feast 2' off the shared menu and the food was out within 5minutes, service was excellent and friendly, food was amazing and ambience perfect.

Very impressed with the meal, food and service was spot on as were the cocktails. We looked around for a good American bbq venue and were not disappointed. Made our trip to Melbourne from Lakes Entrance worth while. Thanks guys
