The service at Blue Orchid was incredible--our server was kind and accommodated the peanut allergy at our table very well. Most of the food was delicious, although we aren't sure we would recommend the butter chicken. Overall it was an amazing experience, and I definitely recommend trying the ruby martini, yellow curry, pad Thai, and pad see ew

We’ve always enjoyed dining at Blue Orchid and last evening was no exception! Food was great as was the service! Waiter did a great job! Overall excellent experience and I’d say it was a great place to celebrate my 70th birthday!

Great food and drinks. Service a little slow. We got our spring rolls appetizer before our drinks. The tables need some decor- a candle and/or a little vase of flowers. But always yummy food- glad to see they’re adding to the menu which seems to never change. 👍🏻

We shared several appetizers, a stir-fried dish and topped it off with the Coconut cake. Our specialty cocktails were lovely. It was all delicious. I have eaten there before and their curry dishes are excellent. They will cut down on the spiciness if requested. Our waitperson was pleasant and attentive, but not overbearing.

First time dining for 6 out of the 10 of us. The food was very good as the waiter did a fantastic job with helping us with level of spice in the dishes we ordered. The ambience was ok although I am sure our table affected dining for others close by. Service was very good as were the drinks. I was a bit disappointed in the overall appearance of the restaurant, I was expecting a better dining experience. I am sure we will be back. Overall grade is a 4.2 out a 5

Sat down for 20 minutes before getting up, and before walking out was told the server “didn’t know he had us in his section” (as he walked past us 10 times) don’t waste your time, I had a reservation and still didn’t get waited on.

Service was definitely slower than it should’ve been, but luckily we weren’t in a hurry. Drunken Noodles were excellent. Staff was friendly.

Peyton was our server. He did a nice job - responsive, timely, good communication... we were the first guests and it was very quiet and enjoyable. We love the Blue Orchid...will be back!

Our wait person, Jonathan, was excellent. He was efficient, friendly, and really went above and beyond to make our dining experience delightful. We enjoyed chatting with him. The food was all delicious and served in a timely manner. We enjoyed the overall dining experience and we will be back!

Great food, service, ambience! First time at Blue Orchid Thai. Delicious food, the coconut soup was perfect! Large wine list so if you don’t know wines use the Vivino app or similar. You won’t be disappointed! We will return soon for our Thai fix! *****

Blue Orchid used to be one of my favorite restaurants, but the service has gotten steadily worse over the last several years. At this point it’s downright terrible. The wait staff seems disengaged, rarely checks on you, and this last time borderline snarky. I asked for chili oil and was met with “well, that describes a lot of things here”. Come on, chili oil/chili crisp is something Blue Orchid has had forever and if the staff doesn’t know what I’m talking about they can ask for details or ask the kitchen. No need to be rude. I waited my entire meal for a water refill and was never asked if I needed anything else after the food was brought out. Finally, the entryway for the past several months has smelled like sewage. There is clearly a problem and the fact that it hasn’t been dealt with in months reflects poorly on the entire restaurant, imo.

Disappointing would be the best word, I can think of. Service was really slow, food was bland at best. I ordered the blue crab meal, had them add extra blue and bean sprouts and hardly found either the blue crab or bean sprouts. We won’t be back.

We did not get our food at all. Otherwise everything has always gone well and the food is great! We also only got a partial refund. Not really sure why.

Our waiter was excellent but unable to guide our wine choices. Chicken Tiki kebobs were excellent offering two kinds of dip. The peanut dip was the best. Fresh mixed salads with the usual two dressings never disappoint. I had the Pacific Medley the dish only costing $20 including white rice steamed to perfection. The wife enjoyed the steak with peanut sauce. This is our favorite Lincoln restaurant and only once in 12 years has been a disappointment.

Host sat a customer at an adjacent table with a barking dog. Not a service animal, an untrained pet. The barking disruption ruined any enjoyment with the dining experience. The manager apologized but did nothing to correct the disruption.

Great food! We went there for lunch. The kitchen was a bit slow, but we were not in a hurry. So it's not a big deal for us. We were offered complimentary desert due to the slow service. Would definitely go again.

Service was excellent. Had an appetizer lunch with soup, Thai roll and tempura chicken. All were tasty. Will definitely visit the restaurant again.

I recently had dinner with a friend at Blue Orchid. I had Pineapple Basil and my friend had a drink called Madame Butterfly--both were excellent. Between the two of us, we had green tofu curry, pad thai, strawberry cake and chocolate cake. All were well done. The atmosphere was sedated with lots of sage green tones and Asian decorations--quite lovely.

Only a limited number of restaurants are open for dinner on Sunday evening in downtown Lincoln. I was glad I made a 5:00pm reservation before a performance at the Lied Center. Our server, Payton, did a terrific job taking care of us as the restaurant rapidly filled with guests. Cocktails were ordered and delivered promptly. The same with appetizers. Our entree took a little longer - the Butter Chicken and the Beef Soup - which gave us time to enjoy our delicious cocktails. While very tasty, I would have liked more sauce served with my chicken dish. It also was slightly over cooked but still very enjoyable. The Beef Soup was a full meal : beef, pork, noodles and vegetables and was delicious. I would highly recommend the Blue Orchid, located in the heart of downtown Lincoln.

Food was good, even though menu is about the same as Issara, I still think Issara food was better. Ordered a Moscow Mule and that’s not what we got. Thought maybe they just didn’t have copper cups, so started drinking it. Definitely not a Moscow Mule. But we did finish it, our fault we should have asked the server what they served us?

The food was delicious and beautifully presented. Just the right level of spice for my dinner companion and me. The wait staff were attentive and pleasant. We enjoyed it and will return.

Blue Orchid has never disappointed, but it can be inconsistent. On this visit we had the mussels and chicken tempura appetizers (the chicken was for our daughters main), I had panang curry with chicken, and the wife had the nam tok (beef salad). My chicken was pretty chewy, but the sauce was great. Or rice was a bit dry and chewy, like it'd been around for awhile. Tempura chicken was a hit and the mussels were very good (though we felt we could taste the wine in the broth a bit too much). Nam tok was 🔥. Service? Austen provided some of the best service I've EVER had, here in Lincoln, or anywhere. He was attentive but not overbearing, genuinely kind, and casual but professional. We tipped him well, and he deserved it. That guy could work any fine dining restaurant in the country and kill it. I will always recommend Blue Orchid---just know that it can be anywhere from pretty good to great. It is a decent value either way and I can't imagine anyone being disappointed.

Overall this as the worst dining experience we have had in a long time. We waited for 15 minutes after being seated before anyone acknowledged us. The restaurant was not overly busy with approximately half the tables occupied. The seafood was way overcooked, the butter chicken breasts had been cooked a day or so previously and then warmed and plated. The flavor of meats that have been cooked for awhile and chilled is unmistakable and not anything anyone expects. The waiter did what he could but it appeared he had not been trained properly. We had a couple bites of our meals and then asked for the check. We tipped the waiter the normal amount based on our belief that it was not his fault. I hope for the sake of this restaurant that ours was an unusual situation.
