I made an outdoor reservation for Mother’s Day brunch. It wasn’t until our party was ushered to a table in the back of a hotel ballroom that I was informed outdoor reservations are not allowed for brunch. I asked the hostess why I was able to make an outdoor reservation when it wasn’t available and she told me it was OpenTable’s fault. If I had known this, we would’ve gone to the Mother’s Day brunch happening less than five miles from home instead of driving 25 miles to Minnetonka. The menu on their website is old because half the items listed weren’t available. The buffet was not worth $50/person by any means. I would not go back and wouldn’t not recommend

I have never had such a terrible dining experience and there was only one other family there! The waitress was so rude. When we asked about non alcoholic options she just said "No we can't do that." Our reservation was at 6pm, there was 5 of us, and we did not get our food until after 7pm. Again, only one other family in the entire place. One of our party ordered medium rare steak and received a well done steak and by then it was too late to ask for another one (and potentially another hour of waiting) and so we just shared our meals with her and they did not even comp the over $35 steak. The restaurant is in the lobby of a hotel and there will be people running around with their shoes off, just a heads up if that is not your thing. Felt like a worst version of Applebees with triple the price and worse food.

The waiter was good. The food was quite tasty, and it came out fairly quickly. Because this was an open space it was fairly noisy but for this time that was not a problem.

Food (burger/fries and salad) were filling and delicious. Our server was accommodating and friendly and took care of us. Food is a bit overpriced, but I'd expect this from an more upscale hotel restaurant.

The food was super delicious but the atmosphere is a little weird. You’re sitting in the lobby of the Marriott hotel while dining. Also there was a singing group in the lobby that was way too loud. Couldn’t have a decent conversation with my dinner guest.

We sat outside on the patio and enjoyed live music during dinner. The weather cooperated making it a relaxing experience.

When we were seated…ALL of the servers walked right by us. After our first plate of the buffet…I finally had to get up and ask a server if someone could help us with beverages. I saw a minimum of 3 servers on our side of the room with only 4 tables to take care of!!! Once the server arrived…she took our beverage order. The server came back with our beverages and never returned, except to bring us our bill. When she returned to take the payment, I asked for refills. Brutal, brutal, brutal service!!! P.S. as far as taking our plates (buffet)…I just brought them to a water table since nobody was helping us.

The restaurant was a bit open, but as we had the place to ourselves, it was still quiet. Not sure how loud it would be with other tables. Walleye sandwich was beautifully cooked and very tasty.

The rating of noise energetic means way too loud. I had a C suite leader from our company fly into Mpls and I met for supper.. I made reservations in advance being he was staying at Marriot. I had been at the restaurant prior to this night in comment. When i arrived I was informed that my reservation was basically grab any table in the lobby area I wanted and the waitress / bar tender / hostess brushed me off, I asked about the restaurant and was told it was only open for breakfast. Not good to hear as it didn't say anything when i reserved that it wasn't open. So back to the lobby quasi open area as you enter hotel - we ended up at a narrow hightop basic ledge across from each other - the cohort sitting on one end while I was on the other. So opposite at an angle. Service ? well for a while i thought I might have to prepare my own. Eventually took our orders: a hot bbq sandwich and a salad with salmon. Time lapse was very long and saw others post our order receiving food. Called our server open and she said oh I'm sure its almost ready. She went back and returned. You guessed it the salmon on the salad was luke warm and the bbq beef was by now cold. We ate what we could then pushed it off. only next encounter with our server was giving us the bill. No thanks - just a walk by drop off the check. So overall an experience that will have me never returning and beyond that I will make it known not to choose that for a restaurant. Unfortunate for Marriott our company has 19000 associates and this sets the tone not to have a second occasion of this. Its poor after all the down times hotels and restaurants have had that the Marriott doesn't check themselves how its working. its not a one time or just us occasion. you could tell many if not all the other customers were put off by being in the lobby area and not the restaurant. But what is one to do after a long flight then hoping to have a great meal and not having to go out again. Will not stay again

Did not know that this was a restaurant in a hotel, or that is was a buffet. Very disturbing that the restaurant staff did not get the Open Table reservation--so there was no special table for us. I don't understand why this is available on the Blue Birch website. Anyway, the staff was very gracious, found us a table no problem, and made sure that we were well taken care of. The Buffett was constantly being filled, and all the food was good. Beautiful selection of fruits, cheeses, etc. Pancakes, bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs and potatoes were the hot foods. Oatmeal and toast, bagels etc were all there as sides.

My reservation through open table did not show up. Open table needs to post the fact that the main restaurant is closed until further notice. We were pointed past the restaurant and seated in a banquet room for my Wifes Mother's Day Brunch. Had we known this, we would not have booked and we were very disappointed in the fact that Open Table did not have this information and had outdated photos of the closed restaurant. I will say the occasion was somewhat salvaged by the service and most of the food. The manager on duty, the server and the cook at the action station were very nice and stayed on top of things. I would return once the main restaurant is opened. Otherwise this was a big let down after spending $200.00 for our Mother's Day to dine in a windowless banquet hall with giant circular tables. Shame.

Easter Brunch - the food selection was great, and very good. There was a bit of confusion about the bloody Mary bar, it wasn't explained very clearly about how and when to go up. And they may have been short staffed, or perhaps VERY new staffed, because our table wasn't cleared of used dishes, between visits to the food buffet. However in spite of that, we would go back, hopefully they'll have those kinks figured out

I would not recommend the burger, the bun was a little hard and asked for medium-rare and got well-done. I would highly recommend the walleye cakes - they were fantastic. I also had the wild rice soup which was wonderful as well. It is in a hotel, so it does have a hotel-restaurant feel. That being said, the waitstaff was wonderful and our overall experience was good.

In town visit g family and wanted to find something to eat Christmas Day. Found this place online and we’re surprised that they were open. Chris sat us and took care of our every need. Service and food were great considering that it was a holiday. Esther food we were served was fantastic, my wife ordered the salad and soup and I had the mushroom swiss burger, both were great. This place is definitely a little gem in a city full of delicious cuisine.

I ordered a salad and asked for no bacon. It came with bacon. I sent it back. 15 minutes later I got another salad, with bacon. It appeared that part of the salad had been removed from the first and placed on the second. I sent it back. My companion had nearly finished her meal. Approximately half an hour after my original order I got the right salad. It was ok. The meal was comped, but I won’t be back.

The restaurant is a bit pricey, but the food and the service are excellent. We had spicy French fries, mussels and flatbread topped with pears and bleu cheese. All were excellent. The wine list is extensive and by-the-glass is reasonably priced. Our server was efficient and friendly. We plan to go again.

I have to say I was really disappointed in the food and the fact that there was no advertised pricing for Mothers Day Brunch. The only cost I saw on their website was $15 for adults and $5 for kids. No one said differently. We realized after we got our bill that it was $25 per adult and $11 for kids. So not worth $25. False advertising since no where did it say what the costs would be. We spent almost $100 more than we were anticipating. If the food was fantastic I would maybe give it a pass but the food was so cold, eggs and hash browns cold. Bacon over cooked and choices were very limited. Didn't even have a friends toast or pancake option. I will say the hostess was great and so was our waitress Jessica. I called to ask about pricing and after 30 minutes of being hung up on twice and on hold I finally got a call from a manger who said that someone would call back Monday or Tuesday.

I took my mom here for Mother's Day brunch and it definitely was not worth what we payed for it. If you're looking for a place to possibly grab drinks then I would say give this place a shot, but the food isn't that great.

We booked Easter Brunch. The ambiance was fair to poor because they had a low turnout (probably the 169 construction) and they set it up in a ballroom. That was the most-space between tables at an Easter brunch (ever). We were at the far end from the serving staff and it decreased the attention we received. The food was good to very good. One nit was the serving of spiral cut ham. If you plan to set-up a carving station, I think you should "carve". We've had Easter brunch in several to many places. Our top pick (the Northland Inn Easter brunch circa 2005) is still the standard for our family. Alas, the Northland was sold and the brunch not the same.

I met with a long time friend to "catch up" and the atmosphere was perfect. The staff was attentive.... we took a long time to get ready to order and they were great about checking with us but without us feeling pressured. The chef had just baked fresh bread and came to our table to ask if we'd like to sample. The restaurant had such great sound attenuation.... we could not hear anyone else! Very enjoyable and perfect upscale feel but still inviting!

I am not sure what they are trying to accomplish as a restaurant here. If I am paying over a hundred dollars for dinner for 2 I don't expect my waiter to be wearing jeans or kids to be running through the place. The food was terrible with the exception of the wild rice soup.

The service was slow but very friendly, expect an hour or hour and a half visit. Beautiful food options and unique menu, but mostly all menu items require an acquired taste. I suggest asking questions and reviewing the menu before visiting, and to go when you are not in a rush. Overall very good experience and friendly waiter! I would recommend this place! Warm and comfortable ambience.

My friends and I go to a restaurant every month that we have never tried. This month was Blue Birch. We always share everything do we get a little bite of everything. We had the short ribs that were very tender, cauliflower that has an Indian food flavor which zip did not enjoy but my friends did, French fries that were sugary and salty so yummy and a flatbread with walnuts blue cheese and pear very good! We sat by the fire very enjoyable evening. Our waitress Jess was wonderful

Fabulous. The food was superb and would pass any foodie's test, the presentation was delightful, the service was personal and attentive. Hats off to Chef Seth and servers Jessica and Carlos. From a person who is rarely completely satisfied, this is honest praise.
