This was our first visit since Ricky’s left, and it definitely won’t be our last. Service was excellent from our welcome by Bo the host through Charlotte’s service during dinner and right up to departure. Our cocktails were generous and well made, and our dinners were excellent. We both ordered the Sunday special fried chicken. Surprisingly the entree was preceded by an excellent Caesar salad so large it could have been our entire meal if we hadn’t stopped halfway to leave room for the chicken. Our entrees each arrived with a large half chicken, nicely cut up into wings, breasts, legs, and thighs, all perfectly seasoned, crisp, and moist. Accompanied by well executed mashed potatoes, al dente sautéed green beans, a fresh biscuit, and a generous carafe of gravy, it was the best fried chicken I have had in years. Sadly we were too full to try any of their desserts, but there will be other chances I’m confident. As with the salads, we each went home with enough chicken and sides for a second complete meal. We look forward to returning, and venturing through the many other attractive choices on Blacksteer’s menu.

Good steak at great price! Friendly waitstaff and kids loved the mash potatoes. We’d go back in a heartbeat!

The food was very expensive and not great. The bread was excellent as well as the service. Steak was ok - not worth 48.00, Caesar was fine, Mac and cheese was ok. My 17.00 glass of wine was a decent pour. I might go again for happy hour but that’s only a maybe.

The outdoor location at Black Steer is lovely. Surrounded by a pool and lush garden area. The food was good, but the early bird special we had – the English cut prime rib was very fatty and not a great value. Service was friendly, and cocktails were reasonably priced and tasty. Be careful if you sit outside not to sit right under the speaker for the music, music is a bit intrusive if you do.

Food is decent. Steak under seasoned and nothing special about the meat. Service was not good. Extended wait time for the waiter to come over. Didn’t pour water. Forgot Ceaser salad first. Then forgot side of mushrooms and horseradish with the meal. Another 10 minutes for both. main meal was cold by that point. At the end of the meal apologized but did not comp anything or waive corkage fee. Would have appreciated the brownie on the house or corkage fee waived.

Had a reservation. Showed up on time. Was seated. Other folks came in after us and were greeted by a server. We waited 15-minutes and no one came to take a drink order, food order or ask if we had any questions. We ended up leaving and no one cared that we were not provided ANY service. Had a similar experience prior and now this experience. We won’t be back nor will they stay in business with service like this. Beware before you dine here.
