Colorful & eclectic restaurant serving Southern inspired dishes and plentiful libations in an intimate and unique setting.
Located within a few blocks of Eugene's most popular hotels and just a short jaunt from downtown, come find this special little spot tucked under the big tree at the top of Willamette Street. Black Wolf opened in 2017 and has been serving up indulgent Cajun style comfort food ever since.
Perfect for date nights, anniversaries, birthday parties, and any time you get a craving for a big bowl of the creamiest mashers and tastiest fried chicken around. Don't forget the hurricane slushie!

We had a wonderful delicious meal to celebrate Mother’s Day. My wife’s steak was delicious and perfectly done. Her side of an au gratin like potato dish was perfect. My prawns with grit cakes was different but, great. Starters of biscuit with raspberry butter and an endive salad were terrific. This restaurant fell off our list because of Covid. We’ll come back again much sooner this time.

The food was fantastic. Our server was really slow and I don’t think they knew we were there for the first 15 minutes even though we had a reservation. It was Mother’s Day. They were not busy when we got there. The restaurant was not even half full so I’m not sure. But that it did not deter us and we will go again.

I ordered the fish and chips, made with halibut. The halibut was tasteless, and the chips were not chips, or fries. They were mashed potato logs that sat in a purée. We have eaten there several times, and I was wondering why they changed the menu. Service was slow, and we were charged a convenience fee for using a credit card. We were not warned of this prior. The prices feel like they have gone up, and that quality of the items have gone down. Dinner with Tip was close to $400 for five people. No one ordered alcohol.

Wow. Delicious food! good (not great) friendly service, would give this 5 stars except for the long wait. We understand good food takes time to make, just don’t be in a hurry when you dine here. Dinner for 3 took over 2 hours, and 1 hour just to get appetizers. Fish and chips were amazing, my son had a perfectly cooked NY strip, and my wife had the risotto. All were great. Loved the Oysters served in an old cigar box. Really Good seasonal cocktails. Overall very impressed with this place and would 100% come back here anytime.

Boisterous atmosphere, fun for some but hard to hear conversation. Food variable, some good some less so, some hot some cold. Service too slow, 90 minutes to get our mains, 170 minutes for the whole meal.

The concept is really cool, and the ambiance is great. Overall the experience is "Good." The menu has some neat and unique dishes and cocktails, but many of the meals are overpriced for what you ultimately receive. Our server was professional but could have been a bit more helpful and let us know that all of the fish and chips come with three large smoking joes, so it's uneccesary to purchase an extra side of them to "be able to try them". I would go back, but only for drinks and apps or sides with girlfriends - not a full meal.
