Black rock restaurant is an easygoing dining restaurant situated across the street from the beach front in Clacton on sea. We focus on a trendy steak and grill menu.

Our menu is inspired from different countries but our speciality here at Black rock is the ‘STEAK ON THE STONE’ the concept is from the island of Madeira amongst other places. The restaurant is guest orientated and the service is relaxed, very friendly; nothing is too much and always willing to assist you in any means way.

Black rock is a great place to eat, excellent atmosphere, great tasting food and we take pride in delivering exceptional service using the highest quality of local ingredients the best cuts of steaks and a great selection of exciting cocktails.

I had the Rib eye and Chocolate caramel brownie, my partner had sirloin and biscoff cheese cake, all four dishes were absolutely amazing, we also had a side of halloumi sticks, also fantastic and very thick cut. Overall we had a wonderful night as it was my fiancée's birthday, a lovely evening to spend sometime together. Atmosphere and decor is really nice. Only grip is paying nearly £20 for 3 ciders.

Great place to eat, very friendly staff. Only quip would be the toilet area was not well maintained at the time(toilet roll shortage). Very pleasant overall 👌

Black Rock is definitely Clacton's best kept secret, took me over 5 years to realise it was there, already re booked in for a birthday next month, looking forward to returning.

We popped in for appetisers and cocktails before the show, didn't have time to stay longer and sample more of the menu but very impressed with that we experienced, our server Grace was very helpful and frinedly.

Daughter ordered medium rare sirloin steak and it was blue inside so really under cooked. I ordered rump which was as tough as an old boot. Noise was terrible from shouting singing customer next to us

This is a superb steak restaurant and gives Hawksmoor and Flatiron in London a run for its money!! Best steak we have had in a very long time - we will definitely return!

Absolutely love this gem of a restaurant in Clacton. Although higher end price wise, the quality and quantity are fantastic. Always a welcoming smile and great service.

As always staff were great from when you walk in until you leave friendly polite and on the call Food was excellent (I have never had a bad meal there) And excellent value for money

we love the black rock and frequently book, i had two birthdays in the past two weeks and feel dropping the free cocktail or a dessert when i have spent over £500 in two visits spoilt it . there was no singing happy birthday or anything special for the birthday boy or girl , this sat we arrived at 7-30 the time of booking and were sent to a pub as our table was still occupied, this is harsh, we should of been offered a drink at the bar . no apology when we returned and then waited a hour for our food. the food is 100% so we did not complain . as a regular i feel last saturday was the only main thing i can complain about. the prices have gone up and the little things that make the restaurant special have gone down.thank you sally walton

We dined here for my mum’s birthday. We were welcomed to a table with a Happy Birthday sign on which was a lovely little touch! The food, wine and service was absolutely amazing! One of the best meals out we’ve ever had! Highly recommend this place, everything was top notch! Never even heard of a red velvet cheesecake but all 3 of us went for it, they brought my mum’s out first with a sparkler on a board with happy birthday on it which was really appreciated! My partner was a little cold so put his jacket on, one staff member noticed and put the heating on for us, it’s the little things that all add up. A special thank you to Faith who served us, super lovely, super polite and really made the whole experience! We look forward to returning!

We had booked a table of four for eight thirty on new years eve, we arrived early and had a short well explained delay in which we had a drink in the near by pub and awaited a text. On our return we were seated and served straight away, the food came quick and was all freshly prepared, all the dishes were presented well an tasted great, the service was very good and polite, the prices were on point. Highly recommended.

First time coming to Black Rock, wasn't sure what to expect as we haven't trouble eating places lately due to the food or noise. We were so happy with our visit! We only had mains, which were amazing and we couldn't stop going on about how great the chips were! We waiting a short amount of time and I think our overall visit lasted about 40 mins! Wad a tad loud but for the time of day and NYE we can't complain. Service wad prompt and excellent.

This is a great restaurant, will return. Food fantastic, great value. Kids meals good price, but then it was also free as before 7pm. Service great and noted it was my boys birthday.

Perfect as always, nothing to fault what so ever, was my little boys birthday and black rock is his favourite place to eat, and it didn’t disappoint. They made the effort to make his dessert extra special for his birthday when I stupidly forgot his cake. Love this place and all the staff! Thanks guys!
