Black Rock Bar & Grill, an award winning steakhouse specializing in certified angus beef steaks served on a sizzling stone.

Due to our high volume and traffic, we cannot hold tables for parties like a reservation system. We have a system called Priority Seating. This system secures a table within our restaurant, however, it does not guarantee an exact seat by time. Priority is placed on your party, and if we are on a wait, your party is placed on top of the wait list as a priority. We will seat you as fast as possible, but cannot guarantee an exact time. If the restaurant is not busy, we will seat the party upon arrival.

They took too many priority seating bookings. We had to wait over 45 minutes, which usually never happens. I know it was Mother's Day, but all the more reason to set up a better system. They ran out of almost 20% of the items, including the main meats, and didn't refill them until after we went thru the line. Too crowded so it was once thru the line and done. Had to ask the waitress 4 times for our drinks, took over 30 minutes to get drinks from the time we were seated, then they gave her an automatic 18% tip for basically doing nothing.

Very good food.Our first time there cooking our own steak. Now that we know what to do,it will be easier. We would definitely tell them to give us more time to eat our salads and soups. Just started on those and here comes our steaks.😳

Meet with some family for dinner. Most were first timers and that was an experience they won’t forget. Food over all is always good. Some in the group had salads and pasta but most did steaks on the stones. Fun environment and fairly priced. Enjoy eating at this restaurant chain.

Service was good, food was not. Soups were cold, fries were cold, and you cook your own meet so the only thing coming out of the kitchen hot were the rocks. Also they do not give you separate utensils to touch the raw meat. Add tongs to the table!! I don’t want to use the same fork to touch raw meat and then eat with.

We were on the priority list and still had to wait 45 minutes to be seated. Food was not cooked as requested, items were lukewarm, servers upgraded items at a charge when they were not asked for. The server was very attentive and kind throughout the night, but it was not the best experience that we'd hoped for for my mom's 70th birthday dinner.

Had a great dinner and enjoyed our waiter ! Everything was delicious and Drinks were good except the smoked old fashioned was nearly a 1/2 a glass. Felt cheated!

Been many times but this one was lack luster. Stones were warm not hot. Took a very long time. And still disappointed you have to choose a salad or soup as a side vs any two sides.

We enjoyed this unique dining experience. We ordered a soup flight. I love the idea of trying 3 soups! One was not hot (temperature) enough for me, but otherwise all were pretty tasty. Delicious chopped salad! We enjoyed cooking our steaks and shrimp skewers on a black rock, but it felt a little rushed trying to cook - and not over-cook - the meat. I suggest placing some of it off the stone & to the side for a more relaxed dinner. Additionally, my husband does not recommend the ribs. As with this type of dining, there was a lot of smoke & steam, which gave the restaurant a very smoky atmosphere. By the end, I figure we all smelled like a grilled steak, but hey, who doesn’t like that scent?!

I was disappointed. We got seated quickly and our waitress was attentive, at first. When our meals arrived, everything was cold. 2 of the three of us opted to have our steaks cooked, perhaps that was part of the issue. The butter wouldn’t even melt on my mashed potatoes. I didn’t say anything to our server, because we never saw her again until she gave us our $100+ bill. We won’t be back.

I was incredibly disappointed with this restaurant. First, the positives. The priority seating through Open Table worked fine and we were seated within one minute of our "seating" time. The salads that we got were also good, and the appetizer was fine, if not spectacular. The problems were really bad though. This is a "cook-it-yourself" restaurant. That's the gimmick, which we went into our meal knowing, and which is fine. But, from the time that we placed our orders for entrees, until the uncooked food arrived at our table was over an hour. Our waitress also walked by our table at least a half-dozen times during this hour, but would not even make eye contact with us, let alone to make any attempt to explain the delay. This was some of the worst service that I've had in a long time. Then, when the food arrived, it was incredibly bland. My wife ordered a steak, which was okay. But, I ordered the Ahi Tuna. It was just a slab of uncooked and unseasoned tuna. Even after cooking it myself on the stone, it was disgusting and I did not come close to finishing it. We will not be back.

As always the food and service was outstanding. The waitress was super friendly. This is the restaurant we always choose to celebrate birthdays at and Saturday we were celebrating my dad’s birthday. We definitely had a blast. There were seven of us and they seated us very quickly. We will be back in April to celebrate my mom.

My husband loved grilling his steak on the hot rock! He said it was the best! I got the chicken stir fry, the rice was not good!! It was loud with rattling carts going by! Not much of an atmosphere!

The priority seating did not work out well, as our 6:15 priority registration saw us seated at 7:00. Admittedly the parking lot and restaurant were packed. But the server was very friendly and responsive and we were very pleased. Our appetizers were missed, eventually served with our meals. We have been here several times to eat and this wait time was unusual.

First time in and very cool place to get dinner with cooking your steak. Only down side was out of five of us the salmon that wasn’t cooked in the rock came out a cool like it sat for awhile waiting for other items for the table. But service was great and will be back for round two next time we are in town.

Even with priority seating I had over an hour wait to be seated, walk ins were over 2 hours, but on days like yesterday they should only be taking reservations!!!! Why did I set up the reservations a month prior just to sit and stand in line for over 1 hour!

Great wait staff. We waited at the bar for our table and the bartenders were very nice and friendly- you don’t find that at a lot of restaurants. Our waitress was super nice and checked on us regularly. The food was amazing as always

Food was good, service was lacking. Our server was either new or very overwhelmed. Other tables around us had different servers, a very similar sized group sat after us and was served food well before us. We experienced very slow service. I would not consider this to be the norm though.

Black Rock is generally pretty solid and a good choice although a little pricey. Sophia, our server, was amazing - she always had a smile on her face and did an excellent job.
