A Disappointing Shift I’ve been a loyal patron for years, and Black-Eyed Susan's always held a special place in my heart. This place was my go-to for delicious, flavorful meals that never failed to impress. The ambiance, the service, and most importantly, the food, were always top-notch. Unfortunately, my recent visit has left me questioning if it’s still the same restaurant I once loved. Upon arrival, the familiar warm and welcoming atmosphere greeted us, and the staff, as always, were attentive and friendly. However, when it came to the food, the experience took a nosedive. Each dish we ordered, from the appetizers to the main courses, lacked the vibrant flavors that they were known for. The meals were bland and uninspired, missing the zest and seasoning that used to make this place stand out. The appetizer of crab and poblanos had portions of raw dough. The halibut (thankfully cooked to perfection), which used to be a burst of flavor, was especially disappointing. It tasted as if no effort had been put into the bottom layer of bland beans, greens and tomatoes. Even the chocolate dessert, once a personal favorite, was now a shadow of its former self, with ingredients that seemed to have lost their flavor and appeal. Moreover, considering the recent lack of taste and quality, the prices felt exorbitant. Black-Eyed Susan's used to justify its higher prices with exceptional food and service, but now it feels way overpriced for what is being offered. I left feeling that the meal was not worth the hefty bill. I truly hope this was just an off night for the kitchen, as it’s disheartening to see such a beloved restaurant lose its touch. I’d love to see them return to their former glory, where every meal was a delightful experience. For now, I’m left with a bittersweet taste, holding on to the memories of what this restaurant used to be.

Great food and service as always. Music can be a little overwhelming at times mixed with diners conversations. Very consistent food!

Our server Amelia was amazing! The food was freshly prepared and the ambiance was actually cozy and intimate. My husband and I had a lovely time. We were not rushed and the service was excellent.

The ambiance was quiet & romantic. Service was outstanding. If you're looking for quaint neighborhood restaurant in Nantucket, look no further. Loved their unique caesar salad and the Thai brisket curry was a great dinner choice.
