Welcome to Bistro 45 Wine Bar & Grill!
Chef Steven Topple is committed to carrying on the legacy of the former Bistro 45 wine bar that has earned a strong following the past 23 years in McCall, ID.
You'll find many of your old favorites, plus new creations at our NEW location just two blocks down the street at 203. E. Lake Street in McCall, underneath the Yacht Club.

Join us for lunch or apre's ski where you will find a cozy wine bar with burgers, paninis, soups and salads (and so much more), open 7 days a week from 11am to 9pm.

Our in-house Wine Retail Shop is open 7 days a week from 11am to 9pm where you can select your favorite wines by the bottle or case or ask for the "Chef's Recommendations" to take home or enjoy while you are dining.
You'll definitely want to come back when our expansive deck is open for the summer months for true lakeside dining on beautiful Payette Lake.

One of the top places to eat in McCall. I ordered the lamb shank and my wife ordered chicken parmigiana with a buttermilk crust. Living in the Middle East for 5 years, lamb shank is the top dish of most of those restaurants. This lamb shank beat them all. Served on risotto and surrounded by a pesto and glazed balsamic vinegar. Amazing. The buttermilk chicken parmigiana I would admit was a significant deviation from the traditional preparation, but it worked. We would definitely order this again. We finished this off with an orange pie. Amazing flavor and not overly sweet, which me and my wife both loved. Have to find some way to acquire this recipe. Finally the wine selection is fantastic. By the glass or by the bottle, you will not be disappointed.

This is a cute little restaurant with really nice staff, the food needs improvement. They do not have a liquor license so there is no full bar, but they do have a very nice selection of wines. We started with the warm Brie and it was delicious. That’s about all the food we were served that night that was hot. I ordered the salmon and my husband ordered a chicken & pasta special. My dinner was barely Luke warm and I sent it back. The only thing hot on my husbands plate was the chicken, which was perfect and delicious. They did eventually bring us a bowl of hot pasta and that was also very good. They did take the meal off our bill and gave us a free dessert. I will definitely give them another try, but this experience was not great.

Excellent food choices and flavors. Attentive and helpful service. Preferred the ambiance of the previous location.

I have eaten at this establishment for for many, many years, when it was under different names and management. I have always returned for more! The atmosphere was amazing as usual. The food this time however, was very disappointing. My fish tacos were super chewy and I did not feel well after dining there. I still don't, and this is over 24 hours later. I am a clean eater so I'm not sure what happened on my plate but for the first time ever at this restaurant, it did not work for my stomach. I may not return again soon. But I still think the reputation from the past will keep them successful!i hope so!

We enjoyed a nice, quiet dinner before the later Saturday night crowd hit. Our server was very attentive (without feeling the need to hover). The food was beautifully plated and delicious. My salmon filet was cooked perfectly -- with a nice crisp top and moist, flaky flesh. The salmon was accompanied by orzo pasta and a nice combination of seasonal vegetables. My spinach salad was good, but the mushrooms were a bit tough & chewy, and there were far too many red onions :-( We finished our meal with a shared chocolate-hazelnut pave and a freshly brewed cup of decaf for me. The coffee was just the right strength flavor-wise to compliment the sweetness of the dessert. We noted that the interior of the restaurant seemed brighter and more appealing than in past visits, so whatever they did to improve the ambience was a worthwhile upgrade.

We were seated at 4:30 and finished at 6:30. Very relaxing. Never felt rushed to finish up though the place filled up fast! We had a selection of wine from the retail rack and enjoyed 2 bottles during our time there. Ate braised short ribs, elk burger, mushroom burger and fungi flatbread! Very tasty! Chocolate lava cake for dessert. Delicious! Totally different ambiance than the former Bistro 45, but it’ll do. We’ll go back again!

I had the mushroom gnocchi and my husband had the Short rib pasta. We both had dinner salads. Excellent meal and excellent service (Dina)! Thanks for a great meal!

Absolutely fabulous experience. Our party of four had so much fun. From the start, we admired their beautiful wine collection. From the get go, we were taken care of! Wonderful charcuterie board with assorted meats, cheeses, and pickles. YUM!! Dinner was amazing. The short rib and the bison filet was some of the most well cooked meat we have ever tasted. Well cooked meaning, to the preferred temp of medium and medium rare of course. Dessert was also delicious, one of our favorite being the classic chocolate lava cake. Wonderful job all staff!! Make your reservation ASAP :)
