Come to Bistro 42 at North 42 Degrees to experience our passion, beauty and southern hospitality. Set among an 18 acre vineyard and lavender farm the restaurant boasts spectacular views of the vines and lake. The seasonal menu offers versatile small plates made for sharing and delicious entrees all created using locally grown produce and inspired by classic French and European cuisine with a modern twist making our territories exceptional flavour profiles come to life! Atmosphere and service were great. They ran out of greens for a side salad. The meals were tasty but not worth the price for what you get.

Service as always was wonderful. Servers are always pleasant and welcoming. Quiche was very good and Gnocchi was tasty. The side salads were kind of sad. Just mixed greens dumped on the plate . The pomegranate grapefruit dressing was very good but just no love or thought out into the side dish. We live in an area famous for peppers, tomatoes and cucumbers - would be nice to see something added. For $25 per dish it was a bit underwhelming but we will go back. It was a slow day so will chalk it up to that.

Our meal was good but the service kind of sucked, we rarely saw our waitress but when we asked other servers for a steak knife or salt and pepper they jumped on our request immediately. She may have just been having a bad night who knows .

We visited Bistro 42 on Solar Eclipse Monday. They were unprepared for the crowds who were in the area. We must say that all the front of house staff were charming and apologetic BUT the kitchen should have anticipated the crowds and been better prepared. Food took forever to come and was cold when it hit the table. Certainly it would have been a different review if they had planned better. Thanks again to the wait staff!

Had our eclipse watching party here - wait staff was awesome! Kept our drinks flowing, attentive to our needs, provided lots of little details like blankets because we had an outside table, eclipse glasses for everyone - it is hands down our favourite winery with a restaurant in Essex County.

We visit North 42 a few times a year. The food is awesome. The service is fantastic. The wine is the best around. We look forward to going again soon.

We went for lunch to celebrate a 50th birthday! It was very quiet/not busy at all so It was very relaxing and peaceful. The place was nice, clean and I cannot wait to return in the summer when we can enjoy the outside patio. Reece our waitress made our visit even better. She was just wonderful! Everything was delicious especially the scones. I found the sandwich/food great but expensive. Everything else was perfect. Wine was so good. We each bought a bottle. We like the semi-sweet Riesling, Riesling and the Summer Chill.

It was a beautiful restaurant with very friendly staff. Enjoyed the vegan stir fry and the cheesecake was simply delicious. Definitely recommend it!

I’m don’t usually give a bad review. The service was good as usual. I was pretty happy to go there and the food is normally good. But I was extremely disappointed in the menu and the food. I understand it was NYE but there should have been more of a selection or they should at least be letting customers know. In all honestly not everyone like the same things, even a pasta dish would have been better. And we ordered the $25 dollar starter we thought there would have been more food for $25 we only got 3 shrimp 3 scallops. Like I said service was good but just a let down with the menu.

I had a wonderful gift of a gift card for my retirement in Jan I wanted to share it with the friends that gave it to me it took s bit to get together but last night we had the chance to go I felt like everything was perfect until our food came it turned out two out of the four meals weren't being enjoyed by my guest and they have been to your winery several times they did not want to say a word I feel because they were quest it was mentioned abut the steak it just wasn't the right meat for price?

We had a lovely time. Our server was very polite and friendly, the food was delicious, as was the wine. Three of us had the steak which was absolutely delicious! One of our guests had the roast chicken, which was very good; she has celiac disease so she had to speak to the staff about the ingredients. More information about this would be helpful. The food did take a long time though.

Our server was so nice he couldn’t do enough for us. We were given a lovely table for 2 in front of the fireplace. While we were the only diners that cold night it didn’t matter we were well cared for and the food was delightful especially the autumn salad.

The steak was fantastic, everything else was just fine. We have been here 6+ times prior and had a great experience except for this time. Service was terrible, slow and generally didn't care. We would have had more drinks, desert etc but we were so turned off (and not offered). We had to chase her down for the bill (she never came back). Kinda ruined the experience. Also, when you reserve open table asks the occasion. Why ask if no one acknowledges? Lastly when we left, we could hear severs complaining about other servers. Not good.

Our table was forgotten for almost fifteen minutes after we were seated. Food took a long time to come out and when it did, it was just alright, but not outstanding. I had hoped for something more from the night and was a bit let down.

We were the first to arrive for Sunday brunch on October 22 with a reservation of 10:45 am as allowed by OpenTable. However, were then informed that the kitchen doesn't actually open until 11 a.m. so this booking time should be removed. The lunch menu offered many great choices and there were two brunch options - both versions of Eggs Benedict. Would have been nice if we had been informed in advance that the full brunch menu was no longer available. Food was excellent though - the eggs Benedict came on a flaky biscuit rather than English muffin and that was a nice change. Eggs were cooked to order. Members of our group ordered the turkey club and the roast chicken - both were very good. Service by Adam was exceptional - his recommendation of the Lavender cocktail -gin, reisling, and lavender simple syrup was much appreciated. The venue is lovely and would be a great space for a special event as well as for lunch or dinner. The biggest quibble we had was that the wine tasting which we had planned to have with the brunch was abruptly removed without warning from the EPIC wine pass sometime between 8:30 and 10:45 that morning. We ended up paying for drinks which was a bit annoying.

Amazing food and service! Always a wonderful time when dining. Love how the menu is changed for the seasons. The service is always professional and friendly. Have recommended North 42 to friends and family for a perfect dining experience. Love the gift shop, baked goods and the wonderful selection of different wines. Will be back next month. Always a delight to visit during the different seasons.
