Bennett’s American Cooking, offers prime seafood and steak dishes along with share plates, sandwiches and salads with a focus on freshly prepared and house made plates with 16 items priced at $20 or less.

Our atmosphere features an expansive bar at the heart of the restaurant with an upscale, yet casual, dining experience. Expect attentive service and Bennett’s signature hospitality – an extension of our other restaurant – Bennett’s kitchen•bar•market in Roseville.

Bennett’s American Cooking offers both lunch and dinner from 11:30 daily and serves Brunch on Saturdays and Sundays from 9 am. Come and experience our hospitality and convivial atmosphere. Very noisy. Food was just okay. Spare ribs had way too much sauce and were a bit too sweet. Fortunately the service was very good.

It took a while to receive our dinner. When it finally arrived the food was lukewarm. As a result we did not enjoy it. Sending it back after a long wait was not an option. The noise level was rather high. Interestingly, the noise level lowered when the light were dimmed!

Went on Mother’s Day had reservation for 2:30 we showed up 10min early and was seated immediately, the food and service was top notch, I’ll definitely be going back

Waited 30 mins at the table before being acknowledged. Wait so long brunch was over even though we had brunch menus. Server had to get authorization to serve us brunch. Confusion with appetizer and drinks. Not the usual “ experience “ disappointing for Mother’s Day brunch

We we a little disappointed that we were not made aware of the Mothers Day Specials and it wasn't on the menu. Out of 4 entrees only 1 was really good. Needs more seasoning on most things and the meat was grisly.

I was a bit disappointed today! I had eggs Benedict and although it tasted okay it was served with chopped lunch meat ham rather than Canadian bacon which totally changed the taste.This is a special restaurant and always crowded so they need to change that, also serve it with hash browns rather than fruit

Food was quite good. Service was slow, but I think they were understaffed and server may have done his best, given the number of tables he had. Happy hour menu is deceiving: it appears as though the H.H prices apply to whatever you order, which is not the case. We had run of the mill mixed drinks, nothing fancy, and they were $16.00 each: very well made, but we will never order another. Highly recommend the French dip.

I have been to Bennetts before. The meat loaf is pretty good as are the soups and salads. However this time I ordered the shrimp tostada. Who would have thought that something that sounded so good would not be. The tostada was cold. It was a shrimp salad on top of a tortilla. It had a Japanese Ponzu sauce on it that got the tortilla wet. Odd. The guacamole needs more seasoning. The pineapple upside cake was dryer than it should be and one slice of pineapple was underwhelming. So the only positive at lunch was my friends chicken tortilla soup. The vegetarian chili reyeno was also not very good. I am thinking that the Baja menu needs a refresh.

Not enough servers, our server had a big party plus tables all over. Food was just ok grisly ribs, too much aioli on mushroom burger, hard like pebble in my mushroom soup. Brought our entrees before soup and salads. Won't be back.

Service was a bit slow. They seemed to be short staffed. Our waitress was very nice, and our order came out correctly. The food was underwhelming for most of us at the table. One person ordered the center cut filet, and it was barely seasoned. The mashed potatoes reminded us of KFC’s. Asparagus was blah. The brick chicken was unappetizing. I expected it to come out with browned, crispy skin because it’s oven roasted. It was fully cooked, but I would describe the skin as soggy. The “pound of french fries”were delicious! The serving is bigger than you expect and can be easily shared by 4-5 people. The chicken enchiladas were also really good, but the side of beans was a big miss. Beans, when served with enchiladas, should taste like beans and not a bunch of chilis. The fried chicken and rib platter was a little misleading. It’s chicken strips, not what I was expecting when it said fried chicken. The ribs were pretty good. The cocktails from the bar were terrible. I miss the former restaurant that was in this location. I don’t think I’ll be returning.

I love this restaurant, everything about it! I had the pork chop, which was delicious, 2 people at our table had the meatloaf and one other had ribs & chicken. We also had the jalapeño corn bread-it was great. I’ve been here 4 or 5 times, I’ll definitely keep coming back! We had great service too, Lexi was our waitress

The restaurant was beautiful and the food was very good. My 2 complaints was there was nobody to greet guests to be able to check us in for our reservation or the other 5 people that also walked in. It took 7 minutes before any even greated any of us. The other disappointment was our server. She was extremely slow and unattentive.

One of my favorite places for Brunch and Monday night dinner. Also to pop in at Happy Hour or even a lunch. Heck. I’m there often. Can’t go wrong. Cheers!

Our server was slow and the food was not up to what was ordered. The manager tried to make it up to us.

They missed it completely on the prime rib. Several tables in our immediate area sent it back. I had a rare endcut. Not by choice. Dinner salad was without flavor, one beet salad was undressed, and lobster was undercooked. Very disappointing overall. Drinks and the three dips and chips were good. Rough day for them obviously.

We had a reservation for 2 for Easter Sunday Brunch. Arrived on time. Had to wait 20 mins for a table. Once seated, we sat at the table at least 15 minutes before server acknowledged us. We ordered drinks and water. After waiting 20 minutes for server to bring the drinks, we asked if she would at least bring the water. The server apologized and said she didn't bring the drinks, because they had to bring out some additional cases of wine from the back. About 5 minutes later she brought water, juice and sparkling wine -- and took food order. After waiting for food, approximately 30 minutes, the manager came to our table and apologized for the slowness of the kitchen service. She then presented us with another bottle sparkling wine. By then, we were pretty "buzzed" from drinking wine and juice -- and just wanted the food order. Asked for a bag to take the second bottle of wine home. Husband had ordered the hash and eggs, which he said was good -- not great. I had the steak and bacon tacos. The steak was nearly raw. The tortillas were cold. The beans were too salty to eat. We have eaten at Bennett's before and the food and service were great. Easter Sunday Brunch and restaurant service was disappointing.

Great atmosphere… selections were a bit limited … not much for vegans and not a very diverse menu. I was seated at the bar … there wasn’t additional wait staff… they had the bartender doing too much … covering all the drink orders for the entire restaurant as well as taking orders for everyone at the bar. Ridiculous. The food was very good, but not crazy good.
