Beeside Balcony is a hidden gem in old Del Mar, CA with a relaxed seaside chic décor where guests enjoy global mediterranean cuisine and ocean views from the covered outside balcony.

A third generation chef of Spanish and Italian descent, and hailing form Paris, France, Christophe's restaurant career began at 17 in the kitchen of his father's restaurant in Pasadena when they first emigrated to the USA. Upon returning to southern California in 2011, Christophe spent 8 years as the managing partner of Eddie V's Prime Seafood in La Jolla. Here he deepened his knowledge of sourcing and cooking the freshest seafood available, while delivering world class service. The laid back coastal vibe of Del Mar, combined with the attention to detail from Christophe's fine dining background, infuses Beeside Balcony with an easy elegance that elevates any gathering, and makes the perfect backdrop to showcase his global mediterranean menu.

We will definitely be returning. Our waitress was so helpful with selecting items off the menu. The food itself was delicious. Every item emerging from the kitchen was plated so well that it looked like a work of art and also inviting enough that I still wanted to dive right in. The desserts were phenomenal. Many of the menu items were made with honey, and there was also an option to take some home! It was a little loud and hard to hear the person I was dining with over the music, but not enough of an issue that we asked or have it turned down.

Outstanding meal at Beeside Balcony! The Bees Board was delicious and the Roasted Chicken was superb. Excellent wine list and the service was top-notch as well. It was a perfect birthday meal for our friend.

One of our favorite go to places especially for brunch. Love that they are accommodating for dogs. We live in La Jolla and like the one there too but I worry about it as I’ve been there when it was very empty.

Pork Osso Buco was okay, but the chicken dish was pretty bad, very dry. Liked the location, however, on a breezy night, it was pretty cold. Unfortunately, one of the servers kept lifting the screen that helped break the wind over and over. We'd ask for it to be lower and a few minutes later it was back up. WTF. There are much better places in Del Mar.

Scallops were prepared perfectly. The crab cake was more like a crab ball and got a little over cooked on the outside. But it was great ambiance and I had a lovely glass of pinot noir.

We had a lovely experience at B Side. Our only issue was we were sat with the brunch/lunch menu and were ready to order off that menu when they told us we had to order off the dinner menu. So we spent 15 minutes looking over the wrong menu. Our reservations were at 3 and they switch from lunch to dinner at 3. Aside from that, we had a great time!

We were 15 min late to our reservation, we had called ahead to let them know, we were sat inside by the kitchen. and loud isn’t even the word… on the other hand service was wonderful and so was the food

Very flexible restaurant. We had made a reservations for seven and then had to last second change it to eight and they accommodated easily 💖💖 A lot of wonderful cocktail options The baklava Ice cream is the best

It was a birthday lunch and we were greeted by a friendly young lady that ended up being our server. She was very personable and attentive through our lunch. At the end of the meal she brought out an ice cream with fruit, chocolate sauce...and a candle! Nice experience.

We've dined at Beeside several times and enjoyed our experience. We had two relatives visit us and we decided to dine at Beeside. Unfortunately, on this particular night, Beeside was WAY under staffed. They appeared to have just one waitress, one assistant and one bartender working. The waitress was working 110% but she was just overwhelmed and the bartender also helped wait tables. Both our table and the table next to us were very annoyed how long it took to get any service. Food was excellent as always but the overwhelmed staff really negatively impacted our experience this time. Also, the restaurant downstairs had a DJ who was blasting music that really changed the usually peaceful ambiance. I hope Beeside solves their staff shortage problem; perhaps it was just this particular night? We will not dine again at Beeside if the DJ is playing downstairs; it's just too noisy.

Cute place, but we were shuffled around a bit as there was some confusion as to where dogs could sit. Once we were settled in the other balcony, things were great and we really enjoyed our evening. The food was delicious!

Paige our server was absolutely incredible she had such amazing attention to detail and serves with a huge smile which was incredible. And the chef did an absolutely fantastic job with my filet mignon!

First time going here and the food was extremely dry and over cooked. Chicken was like eating jerky. Fish and chips were also over crispy. Not worth the price. Paying for the view and not the food quality.

Very good, not excellent, flavors were terrific, nice spot to watch the sun set, great service. I’m being picky but for the price I can be, steak was a bit undercooked, asked for medium rare it was quite rare, also a bit tuff but if cooked a bit more that would have helped. Octopus was a touch chewy so a bit overcooked there, but it all tasted great. Pork was terrific. Prices were fair but pricey.

Great location, great service, pleasant stuff. Steak tasted like stew, rather chewy and not much flavor. Hard to chew-perhaps tendons or fatty content. Appetizers are tiny. Other than that pleasant place to sit down for a drink. Maybe just eat somewhere else lol

I’ve had the pleasure of dining here 3 times now and must say I love the quaint space it offers. The drinks are enjoyable. The crab cake was a bit unsatisfactory as it wasn’t as crisp as I hoped and quite small for a starter. You would need 2 orders to share. The trio of dips was a wonderful treat with fresh pita warmed on the grille. My friend ordered the grilled octopus and for her it was done very well and she enjoyed it very much. Will probably visit again and try a few other items on the menu. Over all it’s a nice spot to enjoy Del Mar weather and charm.

Went to dinner with friends we hadn’t seen in awhile. Noise level was so high we could hardly hear each other. Food was average. Salad was overly dressed. Service was good. Meal was expensive for what it was.

I like the vibe here and the spot is nice but I don’t think I’ll be back. Some of our order wasn’t correct - a cocktail from their menu was missing a key ingredient and it had to he redone, and an item ordered without cheese came with cheese and that person had to wait. One person ordered the tofu and while we don’t expected it to be amazing a restaurant should only make food it stands by. The grains and greens were good but the tofu itself- which was supposed to he seated- seemed like it was just sprinkled with spices and warmed slightly. The tofu was barely warm on the outside and cold on the inside tho it is supposed to be a hot dish. Dessert was great. And also we appreciated pur waiter. He was super helpful.
