As always, it was a magical experience, especially because we were celebrating a special birthday! Our wonderful staff person, Mia, was such a delight!! She made everything even better in every way. FABULOUS!

One of the most iconic places to have tea, lunch. or dine in Boston! Treat yourself to an excellent read, buy a book! Great selection and excellent choices on display. I saw a woman sitting alone reading and enjoying a light lunch. She looks so picturesquely perfect. A must do - take yourself on a book and dine date!

Food portion & quality not worth the price. Our waitress left to go home halfway through our meal without telling anyone about our table and we waited over a half an hour for someone to check on us. Disappointed to say the least. They did comp our drinks and gave us cookies to take with us, but an overall bad experience. We were celebrating a birthday which made it even worse.

i love this place, i have come here multiple times since it opened and will continue to come here but had such a disappointing experience last week. We were met with an employee who was so rude the entire time we were waiting, even though it was thirty minutes past our reservation. I was met with a short “well i said we would text you when the table was ready” when i came down to ask for a timeframe of when we would be seated, told that i had to wait longer because i had reserved a table outside (which was untrue) and then was flat out ignored when we tried to talk through the tension when she told us the manager was out that day. eventually we were seated almost an hour late to our reservation and talked with another employee who was so helpful and understanding. I have never experienced something like that here. I still recommend the cafe to everyone, the ambiance is adorable, the food is mouth watering, but keep in mind that the servers might be snippy and try not to take it personally.

I love this cafe and book store! It’s beautiful and shows the thoughtfulness that was put into the design and interior decor. It’s timeless elegance fit perfectly into the historic atmosphere of Charles St and Beacon Hill.

I loved the atmosphere, food, service! It was all wonderful. What was upsetting to me, is there are no high chairs, in the small space. The facilities advertises for children events, but no chairs for kids. I hope in the future, this could be an improvement. Otherwise, I would 100% go back for the wonderful food & great service!!

We had been waiting to go to this beautiful cafe for lunch and made reservations one a month in advance! We had a wonderful time celebrating a birthday! Our luncheon salads were delicious and exquisitely prepared. Every detail of this cafe and bookstore has been meticulously decorated and is well worth the visit!💕

We had a wonderful dining experience at the Cafe. The food was exceptional! The spinach tart melts in your mouth and the lemon pots de crème is fabulous! Excellent service and atmosphere!

This is absolutely a delightful experience. We had breakfast at the cafe then enjoyed strolling around the lovely bookshop. It’s such a unique and amazing find in the Beacon Hill area. It’s hard to get reservations so make them a month in advance. It’s very worth the wait. So charming.

Really fun to go in down a brick passageway into a sweet little basement area with books all over (but is not the bookstore, actually). Food was delicious, perfectly portioned, and well-priced. We will definitely return.

This was the third time I have dined here—the food was wonderful!! I love how they change the menu regularly . But the highlight really was the wonderful servers who were so friendly and warm and hospitable. Truly memorable night due to their friendliness. I will go back again and again!

This is a delightful restaurant either lovely food and ambiance. The server did not rush us and the food was tasty. Very small, so know you won’t have a private conversation.

This is the second time I've been to the cafe in a couple of weeks. The first time both the food and service were very good. Yesterday was not as good in both areas. Service was much slower compared to the previous time. My eggs, that were supposed to be sunny side up, came out hard and not runny. I asked for them to be re-done. They came back sunny side up but the rest of the dish was cold. We had a reservation and were seated by the door. Anyone going in and out never shut the door and there was a very cold draft. The wait staff never closed the door. The table next to us was also not happy. On a positive, my friend who dined with me had a very good brioche with ricotta and apricot marmalade, which I'll know to order if I were to go back.

I love this cafe. It is my favorite but only with select company which can appreciate it too. It is so beautiful and a world away from the street outside. Food great but service very slow, doesn’t work well with running back to work and doesn’t seem to get faster with indicating to the staff. Staff are always pleasant. Decor and detail are like no other. I love the perfect bookstore upstairs too, it makes the wait worthwhile.

The bookings were running a bit behind, but the team were very nice and even offered us a glass of Prosecco while we waited in the delightful bookstore above. They were also very conscientious about my mom’s dairy allergy. Overall, they could not have been nicer with their service. It is also a lovely atmosphere. Perfect for afternoon tea with the girls.

Great spot for brunch and lunch. Always seasonal menu selections that never disappoint. For our first course, we had herbed popovers with blueberry miso butter. Such unique ingredients that worked so well together. The niçoise salad is always exceptional.

Charming place for mid-day lunch. A cozy café topped by three floors of marvelous books. Our group of sexagenarians reverted to toddlerism playfully running the toy train on the top floor. Food delicious. Service superb. Patience required as we waited 30 minutes for our reserved table, but on the other end, we weren't hurried after dessert. Highly recommend.
