Chef Nick Hrynkiw uses only the freshest and finest ingredients to masterfully create seasonally focused menus, while working with our seafood purveyors to bring sustainable options to the table.

    A good one place to celebrate a friend’s or relative’s birthday. The food (halibut) was good and the service attentive. The setting is lovely. Highly recommend.

    Was here for lunch on a business meeting with an important client. Given the reputation and price of this restaurant, and the fact that the restaurant was not particularly busy, I found the service severely lacking. It took a long time for our server to greet us. Our drinks were delivered after a long wait and needing to remind another staff member that we were waiting on our drinks. When the food arrived, it was delicious. The server checked on us only once at the beginning of the meal and wasn't attentive to refiling drinks or seeing if we had additional needs. When it was time for us to leave, it took the server a long time to circle back with our bill. We didn't need much more from the server, but didn't seem like an important table to them. I feel like this must be a one off situation given the reputation of the restaurant, or perhaps they've become too comfortable in their reputation. I won't bother taking the risk with my other clients, there are too many other options out there to choose from to try again.

    Lunch here was just outstanding. Food was prepared absolutely perfectly, and the service was as good as I've experienced anywhere in Vancouver. There was no shortage of staff, and they moved quickly and quietly through the room. I can't even guess at how many times our waters were refilled, or the carafe replaced, over the 2 hours we were there. How they pulled just that one task off so efficiently (and stealthily) was impressive. The only knock I'm going to make is that the patio was absolutely COOKING. On a cloudy/rainy day in May where it was maybe 17 degrees out, the patio had to be 25. Might be a plus for some diners but in a suit jacket it was borderline uncomfortable. Dress accordingly - you will not be cold.

    This place is special to us. Always love going. Halibut and chips every time. My number one all-time favourite there Service is amazing all the time. I had booked a sit inside, but my husband got there before me and said we would sit on the patio, which was heated but lots of wind still getting through the plastic so opted to move inside like I originally wanted and the servers were more than happy to do that for us.

    Overall excellent place. The food prices are about 15-20% to high on some items. We really enjoy eating at the Beach house. Maybe take another look at steak pricing.
