At Bay Pointe Inn we LOVE live music and casual entertainment. Our popular Gun Lake LIVE outdoor concert series hosts a variety of bands from the Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo area. Come join the 400-600 people every Wednesday in our outdoor event Pavilion for a bar, bbq, dancing and a GREAT time-all right on the water’s edge, Every Wednesday (Memorial Day through Labor Day). We keep the party going all winter long- every Wednesday outside of Labor Day-Memorial day, join us in the Bay Pointe Bar & Grille for live jazz, vocals, piano, or guitar from some very talented musicians. And who knows? Sometimes they bring their musician friends! Cheers!

This was a special Mother's Day buffet with tasty food. What I found distasteful was the 18% service fee added to the $90 bill. My experience with a buffet is tipping is optional given all the wait staff does is clear your plate and bring you beverages (if you want them). My strong feeling is that for such events, the restaurant should NOT shift their labor costs to the diner and instead pay the waitstaff a competitive hourly rate for that shift. I also don't recall this being advertised when booking the event but I might have missed that.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your review of our Mother's Day Buffet at The Woods. We work very hard to put these buffets on for our Guests, and we take quite a bit of pride into the effort and care that goes into it-on top of giving up their day with their own moms to take care of our guests wishing to celebrate, they serve over 500 hungry Guests-cleaning up plates, completely resetting the tables after your visit, keeping our buffet stocked, keeping your waters filled & getting any additional items that Guests may request. I apologize that you feel that your service staff did not deserve an 18% tip, but we find that to be very reasonable, and common, given the nature of the holiday. I am happy to hear that you still found the day special, & the food delicious! Taylor, Manager

This review specifically for the Easter day buffet, and not the normal visit to their bar and grill. The food itself was spectacular. The enviroment is extremely noisy, but understandable, given the large banquet hall used at the Bay Pointe Woods hall. Was surprised by the additional 18% gratuity included on the bill. Most large gathering buffets have an all inclusive price. Our bad if it was included in the small print somewhere. Servers only came by to ask for our plates and not on any refills for water. As soon as we didn’t order beverages, they lost interest.

We went with fairly high expectations since we had dined before during the summer and also with promises of a nice night due to Valentine’s Day specials. Unfortunately we were seated slightly before our scheduled reservation and didn’t have a server come to us until we asked the hostesses 30 minutes after being seated. Not even a drink order. After we alerted them of the lack of service the rest of the evening was fine. Food was good and the ambience with music was great. Will give it another chance but even with short staffed no acknowledgment for 30 minutes is uncalled for. Thankfully the music was great so we still enjoyed ourselves.

I am aware of what happened this night, and I have nothing but apologies for how your evening started. I did ask Leslie, your waitress who took over your table and took such great care of you, to take care of part of your bill, as an apology on our end. We had quite a few more guests than were on our initial reservation books that all came in at the same time, and regretfully, that showed in our service. I greatly appreciate you dining with us on Saturday, and would hope that after other positive visits, this mistake will not deter you from dining with us in the future. We had a romantic evening with delicious food and champagne. Our server, Leslie, was attentive and so kind. We had a great time and will definitely plan another night away.

My Fiancé went in for Valentine’s dinner and got the special that was 4 courses, and everything was amazing. Great food, great drinks, great service and a good price for everything.

The dining, drinks, and staff were amazing. There was a large party in the new "outdoor" enclosed area that was a bit loud, but other than that everything was wonderful.

What a gem sitting on Gun lake only 30 minutes from Kentwood! I was pleasantly surprised by the view of the lake from this well appointed restaurant. I plan to return!

Very nice atmosphere for our New Years Eve dinner! We walked in and got seated right away! Music was playing with a festive spirit! Service was very good! The food was very good! My wife and I shared our dinners! We enjoyed our 2 hours! The parking was good and readily accessible! Thank you very much! We will be back again!

It was an amazing experience all around! My man and I reserved a table for New Years Eve. The food was absolutely amazing! Our service was Top Notch! The live music was beautiful! It was our first date night in probably a year and I'm sp glad this is where we decided to go!

The food was delicious and served promptly. Our server was Claire and she took special care in taking a picture for our anniversary, and also brought us chocolate covered strawberries to celebrate. Beautiful decor and loved all the fireplaces and the relaxing music playing.

The main entree was wonderful. Love Prime Rib and it was perfect. The side potatoes and green beans were great. Took dessert home. Creme Brulee was the worst I've ever had. It was "grainy" not smooth& creamy. I think they use the wrong recipe. I've had it before at Bay Pointe and that one was perfect.

I have dietary restrictions and Bay Pointe would not substitute any side foods even if the side dish was listed less than the menu sides dishes.

Excellent server and the food was fantastic. Sadly we were the only table in the entire restaurant (on a Wednesday night) I really hope this place can stay afloat!

My wife and I had a very nice dinner. The Wednesday evening entertainment was beginning as we began to eat and it was enjoyable.

Excellent fried chicken and prime rib. Top notch hand crafted cocktails & friendly staff. We really enjoy dining here off season. Views are beautiful and the drive to Gun Lake is pretty!

Our family had the most wonderful Thanksgiving Buffet. The food was delicious, the service impeccable, the entertainment most enjoyable. We plan to return for future holiday buffets.

Come join the 400-600 people every Wednesday in our outdoor event Pavilion for a bar, bbq, dancing and a GREAT time-all right on the water’s edge, Every Wednesday (Memorial Day through Labor Day). We keep the party going all winter long- every Wednesday outside of Labor Day-Memorial day, join us in the Bay Pointe Bar & Grille for live jazz, vocals, piano, or guitar from some very talented musicians. And who knows? Sometimes they bring their musician friends! Cheers!
