BarCa is defined as a fine dining restaurant: signature cuisine, served informally in a sophisticated environment. It aims to be an innovative space, not only with regard to the approaches it proposes, but also by simplifying and breaking some basic rules of the service, which is rigorous but relaxed.

For Luis Bettencourt, and Rosa Bettencourt there is only good cuisine and bad cuisine. Yours defines it as a cuisine of flavor: refined taste, perfect technique and excellent product. The basis of its gastronomic philosophy lies in its influences and references: travel around the world, passion for Africa, knowledge of traditional Portuguese cuisine, life in Portugal!

Barca is an amazing dining experience. While the dining room is lovely, we sat at the bar which is also nice. Had a fabulous Portuguese version of a manhattan (my husband had another Portuguese cocktail) with our clam appetizer and all were delicious. We both ordered salads and the octopus special. This is the second time I’ve had this octopus special (think it was the same) and it is amazing! Tender, a good amount served with potatoes (drizzled with peri peri sauce?) and broccoli. We were stuffed but had also consumed some Portuguese bread (not sweet bread - the wonderful chewy kind). They’re good taking care of food allergies, and that includes good service. We really think Barca is phenomenal and think it’s better than some well known, longtime restaurants nearby. You will not be disappointed.

First time dining here was impressed with the decor. Small place but the service and food were excellent. Had the Barca seafood plate which was shrimp little necks and pasta. My wife had the Portuguese steak with pan fried fries was equally delicious. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great meal.

Hidden gem in Fall River! Food was fantastic! The Mozambique sauce was the best I’ve ever had. A great place for a date night or catching up with friends. The staff are very friendly, service is a bit slow so make sure you’re ready for a slow paced night. We will definitely be back.

This place is a hidden gem in the city! If you're not in a rush and looking for an intimate dining experience, you definitely want to dine here! The ambiance is very modern with perfect music in the background.... food is made to order, good portion sizes and the server allows you to relax and enjoy everything from appetizers to dessert. Highly recommend and will definitely be back!

The Octopus was phenomenal and service was great! I arrived early for my reservation ahead of my companions, the host sat me anyway and brought me wine, cheese and bread while I waited…very gracious! The Octopus Stew was great..so tender and flavorful…perfect meal all around.

First time here, food was outstanding, fresh takes on traditional Portuguese menu items. Both our meals tasted fresh and flavorful! Server was attentive and accommodating to any request. Wine list was very good, Great experience, wish we had been there before, will be back!

Very expensive for the service they provide, VERY SLOW service.. our waitress had no experience on serving you could tell.. we asked for a cup of water with lemon , we got a 1lt water bottle and serve “yourself kinda thing” and then we got charged 8$ for the water. You will pay for the bread and butter also. Nothing is complimentary the owner had no clue we had a reservation!! We had to wait over 15 min for that one waitress to clean a table for us.. food was good but very expensive compared to others in the area.

BraCa Resturant on Columbia St in Fall River is one of the best Portuguese restaurants I’ve experienced , the food, the service, and the decor is exceptionally well appointed. I highly recommend the dish I ordered which was the Bacalhau a Braz Barbara

Food was excellent. Service could use some additional hands but nothing that can’t be adjusted. Service People were friendly and courteous. We had a good dinner.

We loved Barca! Lovely atmosphere, fantastic food & the owner/bartender/server was personable, warm & skillful, even though he had a full restaurant on a Saturday night with only one other server. Will definitely be back!!!!

Barca was a wonderful find! The space is nicely decorated, the ambiance is upscale yet very relaxed. Everything from the plates and glassware (while a hit mismatched) were lovely and not everyone would even notice. And then the food...it was amazing. Everything made in house and just delicious. Melt in your mouth filet mignon, terrific salad. Delectable flan. Great job and we will be back!

Always a great dinner. The chef makes everything on site to order hence why if it is busy you will wait. Never an issue for our party as we enjoy the finer things. If you want rushed fast service this isn’t the place for you. Only stating because I see many ignorant comments on how the service is slow. It is a small beautiful restaurant with 1 cook and if you are familiar with freshly served and not frozen premade food than you will appreciate the love and time the chef puts into the meal. Everything on the menu is delicious, fresh and piping hot !

Food taste great, however service was poor, waited >2 hours before app was served. Server was very sweet but was alone. Very expensive for basic Fall River Portuguese menu.

One and done! Modern look, clean, inviting, nice table setup, modern plates and silverware. Food was average and prices substantial higher than other comparable restaurants. For example: OpenTable menu item Bacalhau ä Braz $18.00, restaurant menu for same item is $24.00. All items are ~50% higher at the restaurant. Two Portuguese rolls $3.00. Try it at own risk.

Overall pretty good, food coming out of the kitchen was very slow took a long time to get our entrees. And price was very high for the dinners compared to other restaurants in the city for the same meals.

Overall, the experience was great! The place is beautiful and the food was delicious. I had the pan seared octopus which was good but had a batter on it that I wasn’t expecting. My husband had the Portuguese steak with egg on top, excellent! My son had the salmon which was excellent. My other son had the the chicken Mozambique, excellent, however I thought the portion was small. My other son got the ribs and he said that was good too. We also shared shrimp Mozambique and calamari for appetizers, also very good. My only complaints: we were charged for the bread that was brought to the table which was not told to us beforehand and the food took too long to come out considering there was only one other table there. But overall good experience and the service was also very good.

We were the only two diners for the next 1.5 hours. That speaks volumes! The server was not very knowledgeable about the menu ( or even the restaurant’s name) and the food was basic Portuguese cuisine. Expensive Portuguese cuisine. The sangria was good, the steak was a filet that was over-cooked and over-sauced and served with 6 broccoli florets and two skinny slivers of carrots. The side was a sloppy mashed potato with no flavor. French fries are the Portuguese staple for a beef plate! The food and drink definitely were not served with a smile. I also didn’t leave with a smile— First and last visit!!

Although the atmosphere was nice and the place was very clean, the service was really lacking. We waited almost an hour for some appetizers and a salad. From what I could see, there were only three people working in eluding the kitchen, and one was an inexperienced server. The very pregnant bartender also served to speed things along. When she goes out on maternity leave, I can't imagine what the service will be like. The server seemed to be new and unfamiliar with the protocols of serving. We had to ask for napkins, water, and bread, which we were charged for. While waiting I watched a large party being served. It seemed one dish at a time came out over a period of 20-30 minutes. The same thing happened when we were finally served, I got served about 10 minutes before my husband was served and we only had apps. It seems that the kitchen could only handle one thing at a time. I would definitely not recommend this place. The food was OK but not worth the wait.
