My pasta was okay, very undersalted and under sauced though. My partner ordered pizza and it was completely undercooked and the crust tasted completely raw. The flavor didn’t make up for it either. Was really disappointed unfortunately. The drinks were good though! But there are better options in little Italy

Barbusa was recommended both by our Uber driver and the gentleman who checked us into our hotel … it certainly did not disappoint… highly recommend

We got there 30 minutes earlier than our reservation and it still took them about 30 minutes after our reservation to seat us. Mind you they kept taking walk ins and telling people “we can set something up for you”. Besides the wait time, we waited about 57 minutes for our food. It wasn’t worth the wait.

Have been many times before for the outstanding food despite consistently poor service. Both the food and service are now somehow worse. An unfortunate visit for sure.

Calamari portion small but expensive, served half cold; burrata and zucchini florets were good; beet salad good but small portion and expensive; short rib needed more sauce; mushroom pasta lacked flavor; pizza was at best mediocre and served half cold; best dish was the only chicken dish on menu (and only item we would order again). Didn't even bother with dessert and coffee. Service was annoying, haphazard and slow- especially waiting on the bill. Barbusa is touted as best Italian in San Diego- head to sister restaurant Nonna for a far better dining experience.

The best Italian food I have had since I was in Sicily in 2022!! Seriously, I am Italian from both sides of my family. Know Italian food and the food at Barbusa was exceptional. The flavors blended perfectly. The beet salad was fantastic, the ravioli Norma was amazing. I still do not know how Sicilians get their eggplant so sweet and soft, I have tried for years!!. Pistachio pesto gnocchi was phenomenal. It is a must for dinner

Frequented here before, but food this time was just okay. Calamari and burrata were good, bruschetta was interesting. Usually gnocchi hits home every time but two of us ordered and it was very soggy/doughy. One ordered bolognese and the pasta was a bit undercooked. Drinks were quick, food a little slow to come out each time, especially the pastas. Wonder if they were just put in late and rushed.

We had an excellent meal. Our appetizer was the fiori zucca, which was delicious. We shared a Caesar salad and the garlic bread-yummy and plenty for two! We both chose the vongole (spaghetti with clam sauce) but could have easily shared that as well. All in all a great meal!

The food and drinks came out super fast. Everything tasted delicious, especially the garlic bread. The waiter was nice and checked in often. It didn’t specify on the reservation but we got seated outside where there was live music. It was slightly loud, however it seemed to be louder inside the restaurant. Overall great experience

My husband and son each had a slice of the gluten free pizza with cauliflower crust (they made a Margherita for me, at my request) I ordered and they raved about the crust. THe tomato sauce tasted homemade and fresh and the cheese on top (mozarella) was also flavorful.

We got seated right away. Hostess and all the staff were very friendly & welcoming, one lovely gal even gave me a fan (hot flashes), thank you! The food was delicious, I wanted to lick my plate. Highly recommend & we will return again. Thank you for your excellent food & service.

The food was great. Bravo!! Restaurant is busy and noisy Sit outside if noise bothers you. We shared multiple appetizers and pasta entrees. All were excellent. Truffle pasta stands out!! Fiori di zucca was excellent. Dont forget the cannoli Best cannoli creme I have had in San Diego. And, the best calamari fritti

Barbusa is situated at the northern end of the Little Italy district with an abundance of bars and restaurants. We visited on a Wednesday evening and the place was buzzing but in view of the noise levels opted for an outside table. The food was very good and the portions large. Service was attentive and very friendly. We will return when next in San Diego.

I went to celebrate my birthday at Barbusa and it was lovely! Our server was attentive and kind, and even brought out a birthday treat for me. Standout dishes were the squash blossoms and the short rib lasagna. It did get pretty loud as we were wrapping up but that wouldn’t deter me from dining there again.

We ordered the Zucchini Flowers which was the only decent thing about this meal. The lollichops was over cooked and super tough, with a cheese dressing that was so strong that it didn't allow us to taste whatever they had done to the meat. We ordered 2 pastas, both were overcooked and under flavoured. I had a few forks of each and couldn't tolerate the awful quality of food. So we paid and left. Given the prices the only redeeming grace is the service which was prompt and our server was friendly and helped us feel comfortable. The ambience was average at best.
