Bar Mezzana is a coastal Italian restaurant by Chef Colin Lynch at Ink Block in Boston’s South End, specializing in crudo and hand-made pasta. Signature dishes like Chicken Under a Brick, Grilled Octopus and Orecchiette with Sausage have become instant classics. Seasonal menu updates incorporate flavors from local farmers and purveyors. The crudo menu changes daily - think Nantucket bay scallops and razor clams along with Japanese and European delicacies like shima aji and lubina. All are expertly prepared with bright touches of citrus, oils and salts.
Reserve in the dining room for a family dinner or date night. Enjoy the bar and lounge for bar snacks, a great burger, and a Lamplighter beer. A private dining room is available for a business event or intimate party for up to 12. Bar Mezzana is hosting a wine dinner featuring a lineup of wines from GD Vajra. The Vajra family has been producing wine in Piedmont since the 1880s. We'd love to have you join us to experience a selection of some of their best wines chosen by our Beverage Director, Ryan Lotz, and a dinner designed to pair with them! We'll be starting with a cocktail hour that will include an antipasti board and a glass of rosé as you settle in, and then a four course meal with pairings for each course, one of which will be a side by side tasting of two barolos! Kevin Natoli, the North American Sales Manager will be hosting the dinner with us, and will be guiding you through the wines alongside Ryan Lotz.

Join us for the next dinner of the Bar Mezzana Cellar Series! Let us transport you to Emilia-Romagna, and its capital Bologna, for a four-course tasting menu. Created by Chef Colin and our Chef de Cuisine Eliza it will feature cuisine inspired by the traditions of the region and optional wine pairings selected by our Beverage Director, Ryan Lotz. This menu will include three savory courses and dessert. It will be available from Thursday, May 30th through Sunday, June 2nd. We ask that the entire party participate. This dinner is available for $75 per person, with an optional (but suggested!) wine pairing for $45. Our regular menu is available as well.

Everything we ordered was fantastic: focaccia, Cacio e Pepe arancini, ravioli, and bolognese. It was our anniversary and the staff gave us free gelato and dessert wine. Would definitely recommend!

Fun, quality dining at Bar Mezzana where everyone will find something they like. Changing menu of cocktails is always a nice surprise, and enough new dishes to keep things interesting. The cauliflower salad was delicious and had lots going on.

It was one of the few places we haven’t tried in the neighborhood. The food was good, but not spectacular compared to nearby places. Overall, it was a good experience, but I found it to be extremely loud at times, people were yelling to hold a conversation!

Perfect! Bar Mezzana is consistently a big hit. Restaurant is beautiful, staff is friendly and efficient, food is glorious (best cinnamon buns in town!) and my friends and I are always eager to return. Kudos

Three of us for a girlfriends dinner and we had the best time! Excellent service and the food and drinks were great. We did the “PIATTI DELLA FAMIGLIA” which felt like such a steal at $60pp: included 5 courses and the chef brought every dish directly to our table to tell us about them. Amazing!

Really enjoyed the food - had the asparagus and split pea salad and the eggplant rollatini. Also had the raspberry rhubarb crisp. All were delicious and i would recommend any of them.

We celebrated a birthday, where everyone loved the food and the ambience. Our waiter was excellent, making our dining experience very, very enjoyable. He even remembered we were celebrating a birthday and brought a dessert with a lit candle. My son who celebrated the birthday said the dinner was a 10/10. Thank you!

We had a wonderful Easter brunch — great Bloody Marys and cocktails, great coffee, too. Our entrees were perfect — delicious and generous, but not oversized, portions — the crab cake Benedict was so good, as was the frittata and duck hash. Every person who poured water or took away dishes or brought things to our table was kind and warm. This is our 4th or 5th time at Bar Mezzana and I feeel like the service and menu are consistently special. Thanks for a lovely holiday!

We ordered the 4 course women winemaker menu. An extra course at the start of ramps and favs beans got things off to an excellent start and it only got better. The orzo course was one of the best dishes of the year, crispy fried artichokes spinach lemon zest and a hint of heat. Trotter cake with roasted pork loin was an umami bomb. Great value at 4 (actually 5) courses for $75. Chef Eliza brought each dish, family style, and her passion was evident. Clearly having fun with this seasonal menu. Excellent wine pairing also an excellent value at $45.

Overall, the food was good and our server was great. There was a small snafu with the check, but was quickly rectified. Would go back, but would try other Italian restaurants before going back.

Exceptional service evrry single time we come and some of the best food in the city (brunch and dinner)! We have celebrated many special occasions here and keep coming back because the high quality food is consistently excellent every time we come! I cant recommend Bar Mezanna enough to people!

We enjoyed our dinner here, but after apps, it took over 30 minutes for us to receive our mains. No one really mentioned it would take quite that long, or even came over to tell us they'd be out soon. They did say there was a big party in the restaurant which is fine, but they were vague as to what that meant and again, never addressed how long mains would take to get to us. Well, as soon as someone in our party said it was taking forever, our server went from being accessible and friendly to completely disappearing and bringing us a single free dessert for the wait, then disappearing again even though we wanted (and eventually did) order more desserts and drinks. It was a nice night, but apparently you aren't allowed to say anything if it's taking forever, so be forewarned.

We enjoyed brunch at Bar Mezzana. The cannoli french toast was amazing. Unfortunately they ran out of the frittata. But that just means it would have been good. 1 thing we were slightly disappointed in was in the options of no meat. The restaurant was great at accommodating removing many dishes that had meat to remove them. Which we loved, but felt like in a way we were paying more for having to remove meat of the dish. Since no replacement was offered. Other than that I would definitely recommend the food. Especially if you’re not making any substitutions or change to the dish itself.
