Thank you for a lovely birthday dinner. Todd was excellent and the food was superb, as well as the bartender and host. Excellent location and indoor/outdoor setting. Will be back!!

This is a great place to try new things. Food is quite good, and service is attentive. A word of advice: drinks are quite pricey, so if you don’t want a huge bill, stick with one!

It was hard to hear our server - it was loud and he didnt talk to match the volume. We did a lot of head nodding but couldn't hear much of what he said. Food was fantastic and the vibe was perfect for a quick post work dinner.

Food was mostly good, but lobster roll had both shell and a hair in it. I was at the bar, servers were just gossiping by the drink station, not paying attention to customers. I came in expecting Michelin level attention to detail, left realizing that the restaurant is above average, but can’t execute to that level.

Sunday was a good time to go for an early dinner. The waiter and hostess were very attentive and made sure we had an excellent meal and that we could also celebrate our daughter's 16th birthday.

Overall good. We were not super impressed with the food other than a couple of dishes - Brussel sprouts and the flan, both delicious. The rest was ok, mussels and ceviche needed lemon!! , the croquetas were flavorless. Great ambiance and the server and sommelier were very attentive. For the price, we were expecting more.

We had a great experience w Shabnam as our server. She was prompt and personable. The manager Will Murphy was nice enough to stop by and introduce himself. We found the food to be fine. 3 tapas, water and gratuity. $116.

We loved the place, the decor and the dishes, but as we went for lunch the menu was limited and it was quite empty. the night should be more lively.

15 minutes to get four drinks. I think not the servers dault but a lack of employees without closing tables off. Will not be back. Too many great restaurants in Chicago to put up with that.

Great food and atmosphere. A little pricey but we felt the food was very high quality and innovative. Staff made sure we made it in time for theater despite our later than planned arrival,

Nite at the Joffrey We were in a rush do to getting there late from Friday traffic Brian our waiter guided us thru the menu choices and 45 minutes later we were walking to the Civic Opera House. Great food. Great service. Great night. Thx to all who helped make it happen. Kudos.

Great vibe and food was excellent. However despite warning we had theatre tickets, the food was slow so we had no time for the dessert we paid for and when we asked to take the uneaten food home, we waited another 10 plus minutes for to-go boxes. Never got them and had to leave. Really?!

This is probably my fourth or fifth visit here. The service and open ambience is great that goes without saying. However, I always order my caviar cone and I just felt like the crème fraîche was a little thick more like cream cheese. The salmon Tiradito was terrific as always. I got the garbanzo tuna belly salad, which was also fresh and filling and a good value given large portion but I should have gotten dressing on the side. In lieu of Neptune pillows I got olive and boquerón appetizer which was a canned anchovie and olive on a toothpic- it’s for one person. The steak was tasty and fatty I was a little disappointed because the Wagyu steak is now a hanger steak but it was pretty well marbled so it tasted good. It was just a smaller portion. It seemed. I tried this shrimp and pasta thing which was extremely over salted and too much aïoli on the top. In the past I would give it 5 which is why I kept going back but just some items have items and maybe prep of food was off this time.

The restaurant itself was beautiful. Service was good, no complaints there. But we were disappointed in the food, had high hopes for it but left very unimpressed. The only thing we ate that was close to being decent was the toffee pudding. The fish for the ceviche wasn’t fresh and taste was bland. The lobster roll was bland as well, no taste to it. The burger looked like the burgers they would serve us at a school lunch (maybe even worse). Unfortunately the food and drinks were not good.

Have been wanting to go to Bar Mar since it opened. I love Jose Andres and his dedication to feeding the world! I went with my daughter, for Mother's Day prior to seeing the Midsummer's Night Dream. It was a wonderful experience, Brian our waiter was divine! I have gluten issues and he was the most dedicated to my issues I have ever experienced from a waiter. I can't wait to bring my husband next time. The only issues was is it was so energetic, it was very hard to hear.

Our server, Kelsey, was incredible. Kind, funny, engaging and knowledgeable -- definitely made the experience so much better. The food was excellent and the vibe was so much fun. Definitely very busy after work and pre-show at the Lyric, which made it kind of loud. The portion sizes are tiny for the price, but insanely delicious.

The food was good, but on the expensive side for the portion size. The restaurant was beautiful. The service was excellent and the staff was pleasant. We sat outside on the patio and enjoyed the fresh air.

The first thing we noticed when we walked in was the aroma of something delicious. The restaurant is beautiful, complete with giant octopus hanging from the ceiling. The service was exceptional, as was the food. We ordered six small plates to share, all very reasonably priced. Each dish was delicious and the presentation was lovely. It was our anniversary so the waiter brought us some complimentary cava! The only issue was the noise level. It made it difficult to hear the waiter. Next time we'll opt for the outdoor seating. This was our first time eating here but it won't be our last!
