Enjoy an intimate dining experience at Bar Isabel - a cozy restaurant nestled between Toronto's little Italy and little Portugal, where creative Spanish-inspired small plate dishes are served alongside cocktails and an extensive Iberian focused wine list. The restaurant's elegant interior boasts an intriguing blend of soft lighting, curved walls and a beautiful mosaic tile floor.
Managed under the guidance of Maitre d' and Partner Alessandro Pietropaolo, Bar Isabel's menu includes a diverse mix of pintxos, conservas, seafood and meat dishes. Diners rave about the grilled octopus, the bone marrow and the ceviche. For dessert, the Basque cake and sherry cream is a must-try. Bar Isabel is open 5-11pm Sunday through Friday, and 3-11pm Saturday. Accolades include listings in the Michelin Guide, Canada's top 100, and 2013 awarded the best new restaurant in Canada by Enroute Magazine.

Dix ans après sa création, le Bar Isabel reste une table recherchée grâce à son ambiance de taverne intime et à ses tapas de qualité.     Returning after many months. Food quality and service has gone down. Used to be one of my favourite restaurants. Half the dishes were under seasoned and the other half was way too salty. Waited too long for our steak.

    Excellent find in Toronto’s Little Italy. Menu choices were varied and perfect for sharing. Staff was knowledgeable and friendly. Great wine list.

    Exceptional plates, each one! The staffers so helpful and attentive!! If you’re not there early, it gets full and can be quite loud if in the center of the room. Decor and vibe is so fun… Bread and bone marrow! Will always come back here when in Toronto!

    Their Basque cake is a must-try!! I was deeply impressed by how good their dessert is. Although the food can be pricey, they were delicious. Also, I love how energetic the bar can get at nighttime. This place can be busy so make sure to book ahead!

    Best dining experience I've had in awhile at Bar Isabel the other day! I had the tasting menu and every dish was simple and to the point while filled with high-quality ingredients matched with meticulous attention to detail. Highlights were the mussels, pan con tomate, beef tongue and Basque cake. The service was friendly while also giving the space to properly enjoy the vibes of the restaurant and tasting menu experience. They also recommended many great wines and cocktails to go along with the food. Will definitely be back!

    Some of the BEST food I have ever had in Toronto! Oddly enough, our favourite dish was the salad, and considering everything else was AMAZING, that says a lot! We had: Patatas Bravas (good, but probably wouldn’t order again - maybe too saucy for us); octopus (cooked to perfection and wonderful char); grilled steak (a little rare for my liking but still insanely delicious); the basque cake (to die for) and the chocolate ganache (rich and delicious - don’t sleep on this one!). Tapas style so we shared everything - I would have enjoyed eating everything together because at one point we just had steak and octopus and felt like we needed something else to cut the taste with. That being said, the food came out quickly and portion sizes were good. It’s less than 24 hours since we dined here and I already want to go back. If I had to offer some criticism, i would really be struggling and it would come to these minor things: * Dining chairs were uncomfortable (petite posterior friendly lol) * Oddly loud - music was low volume, but patrons were screaming when talking - so everyone was yelling in order to compete. Definitely left with a sore throat after two hours ;) * You are seated very close to other guests * delicious cocktails, but minimal menu selections
