    The black glass tasting is a fun, sensory experience, designed to challenge you to rethink what you know about wine by removing the sense of sight – focusing solely on taste and smell. If you can’t see the colour can you even tell if it is red or white? Using only the senses of taste and smell, can you tell what is in your glass? You will taste 5 Bangor wines expertly matched with fresh seasonal produce sourced from the land and sea around Bangor. You will explore a world of tantalising flavours and aromas while you immerse yourself in the stories and rich history of the Bangor property.     The foods weren’t good as I had before but still acceptable. Sparking wine had been served in water glass instead of flute when you sit outside. Anyway the view is stunning and service is great.

    The primate room we had was excellent, especially with access to the outdoor.Great service food and wealth of local historical knowledge

    Lovely day, great friendly staff still smiling and cheery at the end of what must have been a very busy day. Great setting. Wine drinkers loved what was on offer. Food was good without being exceptional, but didn't detract from the day. Bangor deserves the accolades it is receiving.

    Bangor used to be excellent. However, the food has taken a bit of a dive and the service was only average. What was once be a simple but very tasty menu has been replaced by a selection of unimaginative , over seasoned dishes that just aren’t that enjoyable. Take for example, their Rannoch quail; what could’ve been a delight now comes in a very, very salty KFC-style meets Asian spices crust. Why? It just killed the delicate flavour of the bird. Their salads weren’t much chop either, consisting I of either a bowl full of greens or a bowl full of greens, plus a tiny amount of grated carrot and purple cabbage, the latter having been described as a slaw. I hope Bangor lifts their game, as they used to be a destination in their own right, well worth the drive from Hobart. 3 1/2 stars overall but a good part if that’s for the views and the wine.

    Good vibes and excellent service. Meals are good and matched with the Bangor wines. Worth to have a lunch there when travel around Port Arthur.

    Despite the obvious lovely ambience and view our birthday celebration was tainted by one rude staff member. Whilst attempting to gain her attention to close the door and turn down the fan due to a number of our party struggling with the cold breeze the staff member ignored multiple attempts to gain her attention and then raised her index figure in the air in acknowledgement of us seeking her attention but didn’t return. It took one of the other staff to support our request which they did well.

    Location and view are amazing. Wines were lovely. We took kids which was probably a mistake - the service is a bit slow to keep kids interested.
