Close to ballet, decent food and prices. Casual & easy. Large windows either open to the street or just good for viewing passers by. Great service who understand you need to get to a show starting.

Bathroom was the only negative- needed cleaning. Also I miss the chicken livers.

Our waitress was honest and could not have been better. The hostess (older woman) did not represent the restaurant as she should have. Food and drinks were awesome!!!!

The Back Deck is a popular restaurant, and therefore crowded and somewhat noisy. The food was excellent, as was the service. It is less than a block from the Boston Opera house, a very convenient place to eat before a show. I would go back again.

Nice brunch selections right around the corner from the Opera House. It would be nice if they offered latte/cappucino and fresh juice.

Had Thai Chili Chicken salad - just the right balance of sweet/spicy and crunchy. Back Deck is always my choice when I have tickets in the theatre district of Boston for a quick, casual meal before showtime.

Absolutely loved it! They even offered me a gluten free menu (& the menu actually had options other than just a salad)!! So so yummy!!

The Back Deck is our go to before the Sunday matinee at the Opera House. Wide menu and the food is fresh, drinks are cold and dessert is delicious. Our wait person was friendly and efficient. We’ll be back!

The food was great. The service was slow and the waiter inattentive. We had to have him come back a number of times as he walked away before we were finished with what we were saying. He never asked how our meals were, if everything was okay. It seemed that we were an inconvenience. It was a little loud, but not too bad.

This was not my first trip here but it was one of the best, which was surprising because the friend I was meeting was stuck in traffic and lost navigating in Boston. I arrived first and they seated me promptly. Shout out to our server, Kevin, who was absolutely fantastic! He was patient and kind while I was waiting, brought me menus and let me order drinks and food while my friend was still en route (and arrived 40 minutes late). He didn't rush us but was respectful of the time and quickly brought our order and the check so we could make it to our 8:00 show. Great experience!

Food arrived barely warm.. poached eggs undercooked, pork was over cooked ( Eggs Diavalo). French toast barely warm, side scrambled cool to taste.

Food was great. Burgers are great value. Only negative was that our table was immediately adjacent to a wait staff workstation which was in constant use. It was like the staff were on top of us. Needs a divider.

Great food, casual vibe as always. Luke everywhere, prices have climbed and portions have shrunk. But certainly the best option for non- chain, unpretentious food downtown.

My friends and I had a wonderful dinner, great service, pleasant atmosphere and waitstaff. We appreciated the not too in your face constant “what can I get you”, but being there when we did want something! Great time ! Great food! Thank you, We will be back! Donna

Good was good. We had burgers and were pleased that they were cooked as we ordered them. I like that for 2$ we were able to change our side to a salad. I did come from a show at the opera house and forgot to ask for the discount. I wish the waitress asked if we went to the show.

Perfect location to have lunch before going or after going to the theater. We loved the atmosphere and the service was great. Definitely make reservations online prior as the restaurant was filled the entire time we were there. The hostess was very friendly and we were sat right on time for our reservation. The food was very good and reasonably prices, actually less than we thought based on it's location. We definitely recommend the Back Deck.
