Italian for 'kisses and hugs', baci&abbracci's Neapolitan-style pizzas and "fresh", "homey" dishes merit the trip on the L. The white-washed walls of this modern Williamsburg trattoria boasts a small bar, while the sun-kissed garden is an "enticing escape." Neighborhood folk love the bread, mozzarella and pasta which are made fresh daily. Your first order of business: Ordering a Peroni or glass of Italian wine. Then dig into belly-warming dishes like calamari, red beet and goat cheese gnocchi, and wood-fired pizzas (Time Out New York's Best New Pizza Joint 2007) . Finish off with the torta della nonna, with custardy sabayon, chocolate cream piping, and crushed, toasted pistachios. As delicious as the food, is the "exceedingly friendly" staff. For the 2 decades I’ve lived in Williamsburg, Baci has remained a solid place. In fact, I think they’ve gotten even better than over the years. Service is always excellent, as is the food. The food and the people, just top notch. We celebrate a long our special occasions here and hopefully will continue to for years to come.

Lovely owner/operators great staff amazing food and ambiance. I felt like I was in Italy the simplicity and the hospitality was authentically Italian.

A wonderful neighborhood restaurant, although we come in from the East Village in Manhattan because it is one of our favorite restaurants! The food, the service the beautiful outdoor/indoor garden all make a perfect evening.

We did the prixe fix menu on NYE. Shrimp cocktail appetizer was amazing. Ribeye steak was disappointing - excessively fatty and chewy. Risotto meal was good. Cannoli dessert was fine but nothing special. Server was very nice and attentive.

Really excellent Italian food. Atmosphere is ‘unassuming’ at best but service is also excellent, so well worth a visit.
