The food was of good quality but there was little quantity of the seafood skewer as it was literally one and the lamb was cremated which completely ruined the taste. We could not fault the venue or service provided but more fish and less cremation please.

Impeccable service from knowledgeable and friendly staff. Delicious foo, we tried a broad selection from the menu and nothing disappointed, it was all incredible.

An excellent Saturday lunch had at Baba. The food was outstanding. The place was quite busy but there was space & you didn’t feel like you were next to people. Very pleasant service, all very quick & attentive. Highly recommended.

Very good food with a unique menu. The best hummus I have ever had is from this restaurant. It’s tapa style which is always fun

Much of the food was delicious! However… We were encouraged to have 2 or 3 dishes each but it was way too much (we don’t have huge appetites but it felt like a waste). It was a part of the spa day but the allowance offered nowhere near covered the lunch (despite no dessert or alcohol) . The waitress disappeared (20 mins) at the start when we wanted to order. The music was not relaxing. The burnt lemon aubergine was overwhelmingly sour and I couldn’t eat it. The non- alcoholic juice was tiny ( 2/3 of a Prosecco glass) for £7. A very mixed review. In the main we really enjoyed it tbh but these few irritations could have been avoided.

We took a while to choose a restaurant for a special occasion, during our weekend away. We arrived at Baba and it was buzzing and busy. The ambiance and restaurant was a lovely atmosphere, although a little loud. Great service and efficient, however we were unfortunately disappointed with our meal choices. Very bland and underwhelming and sadly my husband spent all night in the bathroom. We had high hopes but sadly we wouldn't visit again or recommend 😔 However, the staff were very attentive and friendly.

Our food was not good. No one in our party liked their food. The service was also terrible. I was so disappointed as I had cancelled a Michelin recommended restaurant to go to Baba tonight for the last meal of a two week vacation. So disappointing.

Chicken wings were very good, haggis balls tasty and pork neck excellent. Disappointingly the cauliflower, baba ghanoush and sweet potato were over charcoaled - far too smoky tasting. Much more so than normal, making them verging on unpleasant to eat. The lamb shoulder was over cooked, dry and inedible, like chewing leather so we didn’t eat most of this dish. Very disappointing as I have eaten here several times in the past and the food was always of excellent quality. Must have been an off night in the kitchen. Ambience, surroundings and service were all excellent.

I had been meaning to go to Baba for a long time as had heard lots of good things but the range of vegan options were poor and lack of options with protein alternatives.

Has to be one of the best meals we have had, so flavoursome , great value for money , we haven't stopped talking about the chicken wings! Definitely worth a visit and we will be back!

Helpful staff, lovely environment to dine in and enough food to fill us all up but not over fill. Everything we ate was delicious. Very good with my intolerances. Would highly recommend to anyone going out in Edinburgh

We waited a long time to receive our drinks, had to ask the waitress to remove empty plates after she had squeezed new plates with food on the table. She was about to walk off. Food was OK but not exceptional.

The appetizers were delicious the dips especially! However the chargrilled broccoli main was only three pieces of boiled broccoli not grilled at all which was disappointing and we were told by our server that the peppers that come with the brussel sprouts would make the dish spicy which we were excited about and then the dish came with no peppers and no spice or flavour, when we brought this to our waitresses attention we were told “oh the kitchen must’ve changed the dish tonight without telling anyone” Other than the few mix ups the food was quite good however the service and how they dealt with the mixups would not have me recommending to my friends.

The food was fantastic! Everything tasted amazing and there were ingredients and sauces I'd never tried or hear of before, which made jt really special. Great value for the amount of food you get and the attention to flavor texture and presentation.

An excellent array of flavours and textures in all dishes. There are no unwanted inclusions in the dishes that spoil their flavour or theme. From the hummus to the lamb the menu caters well for meat eaters and vegetarians alike. Been numerous times and will always look to return. A firm favourite!

Genuuinely lovely place to eat, meet friends and relax. The service was perfect - friendly, knowledgeable, efficient, timely with plenty of time to eat and talk. The food is top notch and excellent value for money. The staff in the bar at the side are also fab and friendly.
