AUTOR: The Chef’s Story
An author is a creator of something original and personal. The resort’s most sophisticated dining
experience, Autor is a restaurant that will tell the story of the chef in command. Guests will be taken on
a journey that at once introduces them to new culinary experiences and offers a window into the history
of the journey’s lead author.

Your hosts, will guide you through a tasting of authentic corn based bites and spirits such as Pox, Abasolo and Nixta, mezcal and tequila cocktails engineered by our mixologist, with maize as part of their ingredients. Learn about the history and ancestral ways of the Mexican spirits as the different distinct flavors tantalize your senses. Dip your toes into the Corn Journey experience which samples five different spirits, with a spectacular array of hors d’ouvres prepared by Chef Jersai, showcasing corn as one of the most important ingredients of our culture and gastronomy.

This is not a common Wine Tasting, but it's a Wine Tour Around Mexico and also a Food Tour Around Mexico with a high degree of difficulty.

    Más que una cena fue una deliciosa experiencia reencontrarse con Puebla a través de sus ingredientes. Muy recomendable.

    Caesar was fantastic! The restaurant was very busy and he was hustling making it all happen. The food was sophisticated. Highly recommend a beautiful evening!

    The food was excellent; creative, yet still very authentic. The turkey was a standout. Cesar was very attentive and a pleasure. Would recommend this to anyone visiting the Conrad or Tulum in general.

    Outstanding food, wine, service and ambiance My husband and I had an excellent dinner at Autor. We’re staying in Akumal but it’s a short drive. We were offered seating at the counter overlooking the kitchen or at one of their large tables with plush banquettes, and opted for the counter, where the chairs are also very comfortable. It’s interesting watching the chefs work and we always enjoy interacting with them. The room is handsomely decorated with views of lush greenery so you feel as if you’re in a secluded jungle hideaway. We opted for the tasting menu so we could sample more dishes, and I had the wine pairing. The food was outstanding! Though contemporary and creative, it still tasted distinctly Mexican, and we savored every bite. The wine pairings were brilliantly conceived and we had the great pleasure of meeting their sommelier, Aaron, who explained how he collaborates with winemakers on blends specifically made for the hotel. The Sauvignon Blanc blend was particularly memorable. Mexican wine is underrated in my opinion and I was very pleased to have the opportunity to try these. Luis and Cesar provided terrific service, highly attentive and personable, the hostess was welcoming and even the young men who parked our car were friendly and efficient. The cost was not out of line with the quality and well worth the price for a truly lovely experience.

    Food is excellent but overpriced. Striped bass and Lso brisket entrees are very good. Wine costs $30/glass or $200 per bottle for wines that sell for under $20/bottle.

    Phenomenal service. Sea bass was divine. Every one there was beyond nice and welcoming. Fairly priced for fine dining.

     Do yourself a favor and order the cabbage - It’s mind altering. Also highly recommend the smoked duck breast, sea bass with tamarind butter and the pumpkin dessert. Can’t wait to return!
