Marrying approachable elegance with hand-crafted cocktails, a global wine list, and an evocative dining experience, Atelier features French-inspired cuisine informed by the fresh and hyper-local ingredients of the Saanich Peninsula and surrounding areas.

We are fortunate on Vancouver Island to have some of the most incredible organic and local producers in the country and access to some of the world’s best fish and seafood. At Atelier, we draw inspiration from our local producers, fisherman, and farmers to serve you the freshest ingredients.

Took Mom for an extra Mother’s Day dinner, her choice of restaurant - Atelier. Matt greeted us warmly at the door and we enjoyed a quiet early tapas-style dinner of devine gougeres, halibut, steak, asparagus and frites with wine, finished with a lovely lemon tart and coffee. The smooth jazz vibe and amazing service made it all the more special. Try their Smoke and Rum cocktail!

All in all our first visit was a success. Only suggestion is that for the pickier customers, perhaps filet magnon would be a better cut, and a nice vegetarian option. Otherwise, we are definitely coming back. Service was a bit slow but as only one server it was understandable in an atmosphere where you don’t want to be rushed through the meal.

Our meal was superb. We shared the halibut ceviche. My husband had the salmon nicoise and I, the lamb. All were outstanding. We will definitely be back.

We put in a request fir chsteabriand which was no longer on menu It was nice of him to bring it in for us and it was excellent. Meat was beyond tender The price was a shock whe we got the bill We were expecting it to be the same as when it had been on menu but it was almost double

Great little gem of a place in Sidney. We had the rack of lamb and halibut as our main course. Both were delicious. The little puffy cheese balls were great too! A really intimate place with kind and attentive staff. Look forward to returning here soon. Sidney/North Saanich is a great place for a date night!

Wonderful meal and friendly, welcoming service. Best Clam Chowder on the Island and the Halibut and Rockfish were both beautiful plates with amazing flavours. We can't wait to work our way through the Spring/Summer menu at Atelier.

The spring menu has new offerings like Salmon salad nicoise which was fresh, perfectly done and a nice combo - green beans, tomatoes, wee potatoes, greens, eggs and delicious vinaigrette.

Three friends gathered for a Sunday Roast dinner, one had food restrictions. Every effort was made to accommodate the food restrictions. The roast dinner offered a fish option which was wonderful for one guest. The meat choice was exquisite. What a lovely evening we had. All but one table was occupied and we did not find the environment loud. We had an opportunity to talk with the owner as we ate our dessert. We loved the open, friendly chat! Thank you.

After enjoying complementary glasses of champagne to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary, we had a fabulous meal and the service was excellent! Will be returning in the near future.

Absolutely lovely. I had the lamb shank, my husband had the coq au vin….both were melt in your mouth tender. Highly recommend. Only thing that would improve it would be wider selection of wine by the glass. Service superb and catered to my gluten free requirements well. Nice atmosphere, glad to have a top quality restaurant in Sidney.

Our first time here and our expectations were exceeded!! Everything was amazing from the intimate fine dining ambiance, exceptional service (Zoe) and outstanding food. We enjoyed the baked brie to start then the lamb shank and coq au vin and blown away with the intense flavours dancing in our mouths. There are options to add ‘sides’ to your main course, that will bring the entree price somewhat higher (you have to decide how hungry you are). ….also because was a special occasion (noted in our open table reservation)…we were surprised each with a complimentary ‘beverage’ …. WHAT a lovely touch!! There is no doubt we will be returning to this dining GEM!!!

We were pleased to introduce two visiting family members to Atelier last night. From the warm reception from our server, to the quiet candlelit ambiance, to the creative and wide-ranging menu…our experience was optimal! Our entrees were creative, comforting and delicious and perfect for the drizzly evening. We were pleased to have Chef Matt deliver our meals to the table himself. Such a warm & welcoming experience! Our guests were most impressed too! We’ll be back!!

Delicious dinner. My husbands steak could have been cooked a bit less. His fries were amazing! My Wellington had a bit of undercooked dough on the bottom but the beef was cooked perfectly. Cocktails were so good! Get the tequila punch! Chocolate mouse dessert was light and tasty! Our server was fantastic! Can’t wait to come back!

We really enjoyed our first dining experience at Atelier. We will definitely be back! The food was fantastic (salmon & pork) and the service was excellent. We found it very hot in the restaurant last night but every once in awhile, the door would open and provide some lovely cool, fresh air. We will certainly spread the word about this wonderful addition to Sidney. We will return soon with friends and family!

First time dining and very much looked forward to it. We were in on Sunday Feb 18. My wife had the salmon and asked for it well done. It came almost raw and not edible. I had the beef and ordered well done. Shoe leather. Our friend ordered his beef rare and it came that way but difficult to chew. All the vegetables were burnt. Deserts were runny, unappealing and not very good. I never give reviews but couldn’t help responding to your request. I was hoping we had found a new restaurant to enjoy in Sidney but I’m afraid we won’t return. I apologize for this review but you asked. The salmon was reduced by $25 but certainly did not improve our experience

The meal was spectacular. Great flavours and the portions were good size. Was busy but the service was excellent and their was a great vibe there. Reminded me of the beautiful restaurants we dined in Paris!!

Fantastic food the Chef really knows what he’s doing and delivers excellent French bistro food on every plate. Excellent value for money. We are looking forward to trying the roast dinners he makes on Sundays!

We had steak and frites which were hardly elevated - nice but not elevated. And lamb shank , rich , ok. A bit of green on the plate , nicer careful plating would help raise level. Tables very close together- hard to converse without being overheard both sides. If we return we would request a more private table , and choose something else for main.

What a joy to be received and welcomed into the Atelier environment. We had a little trouble finding the entrance… very funny to watch us wandering a bit until someone guided us to the side door. Everything was perfect… but the wait for our meal. Our fault; we weren’t hungry enough to start with an appetizer. Bravo for the vision to bring a world-class establishment to Sidney👍☑️🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
