This steakhouse is a diamond in the rough. After traveling in the world and looking for the delicious flavors that we have had in South Africa and various parts of Latin America, we definitely found them here. The African Sampler was perfect because it reminded us of the authentic flavors of Cape Town. The bobotie was perfect and the billtong was actually real and so delicious. We also enjoyed the king clip, the seafood platter, and the Churrasco steak. All of them or magnificent. We all cleaned our plates completely. I will definitely return to this establishment. The owner was very warm and welcoming, and the ambience was like an old NYC restaurant and made us feel super comfortable. The live singer was a nice touch and the patio made us feel like we were not even in the city.

After 15 minutes there was still nobody that came to our table to help us. We had to fly down the manager just to take our order. We ordered breakfast which included pancakes and eggs, and somehow it took another 25 minutes to make. The service was absolutely terrible.

We apologize that you feel that the good service and the food was not up to your expectation. Our manager and a waiter assisted you to provide the best service. Easter Sunday we had a full house and our food is made 100% fresh. With over 250 guests the normal wait was 30-40 minutes, and your dishes took 25 minutes. To provide high quality food we cook fresh and on order, none of our dishes are pre -prepared. Have a blessed day.

Had a great experience at Astor Farm for Easter brunch! My family and I went here before church and were so grateful for the experience. The environment was warm and inviting, the music playing was so sweet, service and food were amazing! My daughters got to meet the chef and take Easter pictures- this place was so inviting, my husband and I can’t wait to return for a date night!

Always a great time at Astor Farm to Table, especially during Sunday Brunch. The DJ is great and not so loud that you can't hear each other, the volume and atmosphere are just right!

first time here, the menu choices are quite varied and different, what we expected from this restaurant. they have a large inventory of various wines, many from South Africa. The tastes were delicious, different seasonings (the peri peri is a bit on hot side). Definitely a place to return to and sample other offerings. we ate on the patio, so there was some street noise early evening…. but very enjoyable. Service was excellent, chef actually came around several times, it was good to get his perspective. Highly recommend this for folks looking for something different.. they have live music after 600p!!

Wonderful experience celebrating our anniversary. Chef Casey was welcoming and we enjoyed hearing the story of his journey to opening this fabulous restaurant. The wait staff was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu, guiding us through the authentic South African and Venezuelan cuisine. The food was fresh and nicely presented. This will definitely be a regular date night destination.

My wife and I had one of the best experience at Astor Farm to Table. Food was very tasty and satisfying. Drinks were served with prestige and was worth the experience. Chef KC was very personable. He made sure to check on everyone seated, asking about their day, the food and their experience. Definitely a five star.

The food wasn't that bad my only complaint was that when I order a 12 oz steak I wound expect it to be at least a 1/2 inch thick not a 1/4 of an inch and furthermore a real ribeye and not something that looks like a skirt steak. The mash potatoes were cold and hard and 15 dollars for a Jamison is a little steep.

From the chef to the staff everyone was very warm and welcoming. The food selection is excellent. The Houston restaurant week menu is great. Food was absolutely delicious. I will be back.

Visited Astor Farm to Table for Houston Restaurant week and I'm so glad that we stepped out of comfort zone from the usual Steakhouse. Astor is perfect for Date night. Chef Casey was amazing. The Duck wings are a stand out and phenomenally done. The music is nice and there is plethora of house wines and a wine tasting room. Check the weekly menu for specials like Tomahawk Thursday and date night Wednesday. I enjoyed a Ribeye with shrimp and my husband had the picanha Espada. The calamari was not our favorite but everything else from the service to the ambiance was 5 stars. Chef Casey came out to greet us personally and made us feel like family. To finish our meal we had the SEIS LECHES and you will want to save room for this heavenly dessert. We will absolutely be back and hopefully get to enjoy the live music on Friday and Saturday evenings.

We went for HRW and the choices were large. The food was excellent with one of our party stating that the oxtails were the best he’s ever had. But the real highlight was the desserts!

Went during restaurant week with a friend. They weren’t prepared for the volume. Waiter was horrible as he was heading back to college in two days so he had pretty much checked out. Kitchen was behind on orders and ran out of certain items. Took 40 minutes to get our appetizer. We won’t be back.

Three of us dined here our first time here for HRW lunch. Good variety menu and the food was delicious. Service was lacking even though its wasn't that busy. She pushed the mineral and sparkling waters on us even after my dd asked for just regular water (we found out later on the check that was an add'l $14. for water. Never checked on us to see how we were doing. She mixed up our requested spice levels on the two dishes. Waited over 15 minutes for the check. Nice ambience but with the low service I'd hesitate to return esp. since it was a long drive for us.

The food and service was top tier! So glad we gave this place a try. We dined here for dinner and ordered a variety of food (oysters, fried duck wings, octopus, chicken and oxtails) and everything was a 10/10. The drinks were great as well! I love the specials they offer. We even got a chance to talk to the owner who was so kind and down to earth!

Average food, service was good, overpriced though for the food, it’s something you can get at any breakfast place for half the cost if you’re going for breakfast. I can’t rate for dinner but maybe I will try it in the future.

Came for brunch on a Saturday. We were greeted warmly and quickly seated. The menu offered staple breakfast fare with an African twist (my instant favorite were the peri peri wings). Service was pleasant but could be more efficient. The chef came out and checked on us, which was a nice touch. We live near downtown Houston but making our rounds around town to try new places and support local small businesses. Glad we drove to try this place. Would come back for lunch or dinner to try more delicious African food!

Our friends suggested Astor tonight for dinner. Wow! What a wonderful place! It was an experience trying South African cuisine right here in Houston. Every flavor was so different and delicious!! Chef Casey greeted each table and shared his story. What an inspiring man! Great place and we will definitely be there again!!
