Delicious cuisine. While few, wonderful choices for a vegan diet! Mushrooms and Asparagus Risotto are perfect for vegans! And everyone else!

Certain menu items weren't available. No break basket, for example. Though they offered to toast some sourdough bread, which was good. When I asked the server for ketchup - as my (expensive) hamburger arrived undressed - the server diffidently said there wasn't any. Finally another waitress found some ketchup. The rice pudding was exceptional. Almost empty restaurant before the Disney Hall Concert. They were already cleaning up the tables to close at 6:30pm, so we felt rushed to leave.

As LA Opera & Ahmanson season ticket holders, we dine frequently at Asterid, our favorite place near the music center. The seasonal menu is excellent & innovative, & service is attentive & informative about the various dishes. Thank you, Ebon!

Food was very good; inventive combinations. Yuzu cassis dessert the best! Service could be an issue. Room was full, so perhaps server was just overwhelmed. Was he new? He seemed to mainly respond to tables who signaled him, rather than checking on folks on his own, as he walked by… memory issues?? Allow at least two hours until curtain time. Very Noisy! ! A bit over priced. Limited menu, but server indicated not much changes. Toss of a coin if I will eat there again.

Excellent options in a very nicely done, modern space. Mixologist has invented some great martinis. Particularly loved the chicken liver pate with toasted bread. We will return!

We have dined at Asterid three times recently before concerts at Walt Disney Concert Hall. They have a prime location and a decent space and should take advantage of it. The menu needs to be expanded and improved. As everywhere, the food takes a while to get to the table. That, we are used to. Yesterday, we asked for some chips to tide us over with our drinks instead of paying 15 dollars for the assortment of bread. That is a bit steep! They gave us some chips and charged us $6. We wouldn't do that again. They need to invest in a fryer to order fries for that purpose. The menu items are limited. I ordered asparagus risotto, which would have been good if there was some asparagus in it. When listed first, it should be showcased ~what little asparagus there was was delicious. There were many more chanterelles, which are not my favorite. I ordered that dish previously and enjoyed it much more the first time. There was lots of asparagus and less of the mushroom. Each time we have dined there, the four of us have ordered different menu items, and while they look appealing, they just taste ok. Yesterday my husband enjoyed his Bloody Mary, while another friend said there was not much gin in his Gin and Tonic. Now that the weather is improving, we will be dining further afield and enjoying the walk! We would like to see Asterid succeed, so please make some changes!

Very mediocre experience overall. The location is nice and very convenient if you are planning an evening at the Walt Disney Hall. Everything else though has room for improvement starting from the service. Our waitress was very unpolite and really made it clear she didn't want to be there. She rushed us though our order and brought the check without being asked and when informed we did not ask for the check yet as we wanted to actually order some more items she replied with a very sassy "I was told by somebody you did ask my colleague for the check". Very unnprofessional! She obviously understood she was out of line as she never came by our table again and we were served by an other waitress after that. Food is ok, nothing amazing and definitely overpriced. DO NOT get the prawns: 29$ for 3 average size prawns is really not worth it. I do not recommend this place and will likely not visit again!

Hoping for a good meal ahead of 8pm show. The meal was a dramedy. Our server was SO EXCITED to offer a prix fixe “experience”; we decided to indulge. For $98 p/p we thought we would enjoy a tasty variety and satisfy our hunger; she assured us we had plenty of time. Soon another server arrived with 2 plates and mumbled something but was gone before we could inquire. 2 tiny rice crackers on a cloth napkin and 2 tinier radishes? Hmm. Tasty and odd start with no mention on menu. Other tables, seated after us, being served robust plates of food. Eventually our cheery server appears with avocado toast; she explains in detail inverted toast with avocado disc on the bottom, crab on top & 2 whisper thin bites of toast as garnish. Looks good. We bite into each of ours and immediately look at each other and say “is yours frozen?!” We’re both So Cal girls, we know avocado. Yuck. Server comes by all excited to know how our “experience” (said over and over by staff) is; we have to tell her the sad news that avo is frozen. She whisks them away mortified. We do not see her again until it’s time for the bill. We wait, & wait. Others around us filling their bellies. Finally receive new “toasts”- but alas, too cold to taste avo; the 3 small bites of crab were quite tasty. We laugh and await the rest of our “experience”. A nice tortilla chip topped with a shrimp and other flavors arrives. We’ve now had literally 7 small bites of food. Arrived 6:15; now 7pm. The “main” course choice was a cod and a beef dip. We got one of each. The beef dip was delicious and an appropriate sized portion. The cod was tasty but an insulting small 4 bite piece — it’s just cod for Pete’s sake! We laugh some more!Yet a different server appears to check in; we tell all. Without asking, she sneaks a nice plate of steak to us. Feels like a meal. The final course? 2 massive servings of a mediocre tres leches! More laughs. Check please? We wait & wait. Wrong check. Finally we’re able to pay & must dash to DH.

I really do not understand all the negative reviews. Our server was very attentive from the outset and stayed so during the entire meal. He made sure we had our drinks at the right time, appropriately spaced out our dishes and ensured we were out in time for our show. He was excellent! Also excellent was the food. The chicken liver mousse was velvety smooth and oh so tasty! The kanpachi and Mitaki mushroom dishes were both so good and so different. Asparagus risotto perfectly cooked and the lamb shank delicious. The drinks too from the Gin and Guava to the paper plane, martini #5 and wine. Overall a really wonderful, well worth it experience!! We will be back.

I had dinner here twice last week before performances at the Music Center. The menu is expansive enough to avoid repetition. The service was exceptional. We had the same server both times and she was helpful and accommodating. The menu items are plated beautifully and the flavors are amazing. The plates are small but filling. The choices are unique. The food is fresh, seasoned nicely and featuring sauces that compliment and accentuate the base ingredients. Everything is delectable. I look forward to my next visit. I highly respect this place.

Not the best experience especially for the price of. the food. We ordered multiple appetizers and one cocktail. The "prawns" appetizer came out first and was completely undercook and 1 piece was raw. The sauce for it was delicious. Sent it back and it came back with 3 little shrimp. They have it listed as prawns, which they were not. Still waiting for out cocktail and mushrooms, that they did not fire. Once received cocktail it was tasty and very well made. Salad we are ordered was decent but more on the dry side. Once we finally received our mushrooms 25 minutes later, they were well. Very disappointed.

The restaurant was adequate but a little pricey for the meal though it was tasty. Service was very nice. The atmosphere of the restaurant was nice but felt more like a nice hotel restaurant than a restaurant attached to a major music venue. Overall for the price I felt the overall experience should be more elevated. Still it was nice and the fried mushrooms were the star of the evening.

Yesterday evening's meal at Astrid was excellent. We shared some of our usual choices [chicken liver moose, hamachi, and the chocolate dessert], and had prawns diabolo. The star of the evening was the asparagus and mushroom rissoto.

Restaurant experience was pretty disappointing. We enjoy supporting Latinos and we were excited to learned chef Ray Garcia had a restaurant, the food didn’t equal the cost.

Great food, unique tastes, but limited main course menu. Food service was fine except for over-the-top removal of dish-ware, glasses, silverware. Seemed there was someone constantly on the lookout for your last bite or sip to whisk away that offending item. This included people reaching between us, across the table, to grab something, disrupting our dinner conversation. Not pleasant.

Me and my wife went there for Valentina's day dinner. Restaurant design was modern, drink was good. It's fixed menu with 3 courses and 1 dessert for $98 per person, which was not bad actually. However my wife is vegetarian and we asked for vegie option and later we found out they just removed all meat/seafood from the regular fix menu and still served the same dishes. My 1st course was scallop salad and she had the same salad without the scallop. My 2rd course was risotto and she got a beet salad. My 3rd course was NY strip and she got the same risotto as my 2rd course. And we got charged the same price. I got it, it's valentine's day, but it was not a very thoughtful solution since they are providing vegetarian option and people normally holds expectation for restaurant like this. Overall a little disappointed.

I was surprised that the menu was so limited. The restaurant was very quiet so I understood why they had about 4 entrees one of which was a hamburger but they need to have a larger selection. We had the chicken Milanesa which was delicious.

We were booked to sit outside, but it was a cold night and when we asked, we were quickly moved to a cozy inside table. The half chicken was very good and the rice pudding, light and delicious. Looking forward to our next visit.

we have been there several time. this time we sat at the bar. the service could not have been more inept. the bartender was flustered , couldn't' focus, left dirty plates, forgot drink orders. several other customers had to come to the bar and ask a 2nd and 3rd time for their drinks, he would strat mixing one drink then turn his attention to something else. not cool. also my favorite dish was the caviar biteS. the change in presentation is disappointing. caviar on a cake just isn't fun. plus, it's awkward to eat. everyone loves the champagne of bottled beers presentation, that's for sure. my husband had the burger and was in heaven. the food, except the caviar was great, as always.

We showed up for dinner and were presented with a Brunch menu, which we assumed was a mistake, but then learned it wasn't. As we were not in the mood for pancakes or other breakfast items, the menu was extremely limited. Food tasted good. Cocktails were great, as was the service.
