Went for a night out at Archer. It was a great place to catch up with friends with the ambiance of the restaurant. Ordered oysters, scallops, duck and salmon. It was hard to pick a favourite dish but I'd say the salmon given the crispy fish skin with the softness of the meat that melts into your mouth. Would recommend stopping at Archer for a try

Delicious food; no question. But pricey. But overall dining experience is so-so. Empty restaurant.

The food and service at Archer was outstanding. Presentation of dishes was excellent. We visit Vancouver several times a year and Archer will be one of our regular stops.

Top to bottom perfect meal! Our party of 4 split 2 appetizers and 3 mains and nothing missed. Don’t skip the venison tartare or truffle pasta.

Hold on to your hats because this place will blow you away!! My partner and I spent 3hs for a lovely dinner service and absolutely lived every minute of it. Instead of trying any of the mains, we decided to try all of the appetizers. The attention to detsil from our elegant server, the timely made meals and and presentation of each dish, we felt like we were taken care of. Watching the unvaling of the smoked oysters before us filled our space with delicious smoke. The display of the venison tartar was sublime as we oogled the shaved truffles blanketing the top. My personal favorite was the fois Gras, now this may just be me, but this dish actually transported me back in time to when I was 15yrs old on a nice summer day. That's unheard of and a 1st for me! Isn't that what food is meant to do? Bring us to another place in time as we sample the craftsmanship of the chefs handy work and the owners guidance !......I ordered it twice btw. By far, Archer was well worth the wait, the price and the time gor my partner and I to treat ourselves to something extraordinary. A must go

Archer did not hit its target. Should not be Michelin recommended. The vibe of the restaurant is uninviting and the lack of service and hospitality was pretentious and unwarranted.The menu is very limited. No salads are currently on the dinner menu. We ordered the $27 smoked oysters for a starter and what came was 4 small Fanny Bay oysters in a very big fish bowl with a lid. No serving utensils and no small (fish) forks and no side plates. We had to ask for side plates and fish out the oysters from the aquarium like bowl with our hands and use our large dinner forks. It was ridiculous. If you are not ordering a bottle of wine they only offer a very small menu for wines by the glass and wines by the glass only come in a 5 ounce portion. I had finished my wine and left the empty glass by the aisle edge side of the table and the waiter walked by several times never stopping to ask if I wanted another. Finally after 10 minutes we waived down a waiter and ordered another glass. After about 15 minutes our dinner arrived and the glass of wine had not arrived. We has to ask for dinner forks since they had not been replaced the ones we used that were cleared away. I finished eating my dinner and still no glass of wine so we cancelled the order for the glass of wine. Again, ridiculous. Of the two fish main dishes (sablefish and salmon) the sablefish has chorizo and chef would not prepare the sablefish dish without the meat. Most people who order fish order it as an alternative to meat so this was off-putting. There was only one vegetarian main menu item (not vegan). We therefore ordered the salmon and it was disappointing and not accurately described. The salmon was drowning in a creamy soup like broth with small pieces of Brussel spouts and zucchini yet it was described as "pan seared BC salmon, Brussel sprouts, zucchini, smoked butter emulsion." We were so disappointed in our meal and the experience we did not order dessert and will never return.
