Connu pour être au fourneau dans les restaurants haut de gamme Rex et Vincenti, le chef Gino Angelini concocte une cuisine italienne de qualité dans son propre établissement. Même les gourmands qui ont tout essayé savoureront les entrées simples mais sublimes, allant des pizzas minces comme du papier aux moules et palourdes cuites à la vapeur qui baignent dans un bouillon d'ail infusé. Les lasagnes vertes de Nonna Elvira sont une douzaine de couches de bonheur avec des couches de pâtes qui enveloppent un fromage doux. Poursuivez avec un branzino (loup de mer incrusté de sel) délicieusement moelleux , ou avec une côtelette de porc accompagnée de chou rouge braisé. Les desserts méritent une attention particulière, comme un mascarpone crémeux ou une boule de gelato à la vanille servie avec une dose d'expresso chaud.

We started with two appetizers - a marvelous Zucchini Flowers and the BEST OCTOPUS ever, the “Polipo”, a warm mediterranean octopus, arugula, cherry tomatoes. Wow! And Then I had a deliciously rich PASTA, the “Paste” Tagliolini Limone, a house-made tagliolini, lemon, cream, parmigiano reggiano. Perfect! My wife had the Dover Sole alla Romagnola, wood oven finished, breaded, garlic, spinach, mashed potatoes. Fantastic! We finished a bottle of “rose” Prosecco in the process.

Service and food was excellent! It was Mother’s Day so restaurant was packed and everyone was sandwich together. Overall we enjoyed every dishes;,especially the lemon pasta!

Food is always good. Space is tight. Couldn't walk through without bumping to someone. Hard to talk with the noise level.

Always excellent food, and very definitely high prices. Inside is usually painfully loud, but the noise level on the patio is very comfortable. I appreciate that they lightly curtain off the front patio so that one is still outside, but protected from sun and traffic. Always a pleasure to dine there.

Sat at what they call there counter, this evening. Not sure why any fine restaurant would think that anyone would enjoy a meal in this location. They put you in a little place in the back where the menus are kept on the counter above you so that someone is always reaching over your head for one or to returning it. The silverware is on the counter next to you so staff is constantly grab for it or re-stocking it. The walk way where all the food comes from the kitchen is about two feet wide behind your chair and the table behind you, so I think my chair was bumped into a dozen or more times during my dinner. I am surprised that this restauant thinks guests will enjoy this spot. Do not ever sit at the counter. It is not a nice way to eat a meal out.

My husband and I had dinner last night. While the overall experience was good, it fell short of greatness. I ordered a pasta dish in cream sauce, which unfortunately was drowned in too much sauce, overpowering the pasta itself. Initially, I was disappointed when I asked for bread and was told they didn't have any. However, a few minutes later, a staff member came over, apologized, and brought us some bread. On the other hand, my husband enjoyed his spicy penne alla vodka. Overall, the dining experience was good, but not great.

The food was delicious. The servers were pleasant but seemed a bit overwhelmed by the volume of diners. The restaurant was hectic and loud, but the quality of the food was excellent. Authentic Italian.

Authentic Italian dishes with very fresh ingredients. Loved the casual and relaxed atmosphere. Staff was very amicable and attentive. Highlights: Artichoke Salad, Beef Carpaccio and Tiramisu (but the entire menu was great! Very wide selection of dishes, from traditional starters, to fish/chicken/meat, and pastas/pizzas).

Overall another great dining experience with food and service. Was very surprised to see that Andrea was gone but glad to hear that he is doing fine. Also did not see any of the old servers there. Did not want to ask where they went.

Best lasagna in awhile but the crust on the margarheta pizza could be cooked a little more, nevertheless always a good meal, getting to be one of my favorite LA spots for dinner

An exceptional dining experience. The food and the service was absolutely amazing. Our party of 5 dined on broccoli-asparagus soup, shell fish risotto, tuna tartare, and a lobster salad. We ended the evening sharing a bread pudding and a chocolate mousse. The out of ordinary food was paired with the most accommodating and attentive staff. If one wants an extraordinary evening out, I highly recommend this establishment.

I have been a customer of Angellini since it opened. It used to be one of the best restaurants in town, when the owner - Gino - was cooking delicious meals. I took many out-of towners there. They all were longing to return on their next visit to L.A. This will not be the case any longer, I took two friends to Angellini last night. My reservation made for 8 was not available until 8:30. Then we were moved to "Siberia" - the ugly annext that looks likea factory cafeteria. A look at the menu showed that the restaurant had moved in teh direction of a banal "pasta joint" . Antipasti such as zucchini flowers were limp and cold; the pasta was overcooked. Red sauce everywhere. The prices were astronomical for what was being served. The wine list was extensive but extravagantly priced. Sorry to say, but it was one of the worst dinners I ever had.

A very, very, VERY good restaurant!! The best part was the exquisite food. They made even basic items like chopped salad, penne e vodka, and broccoli (!!) fun and fine. I also had a bolognese tagliatelle and desserts (misty gelato and tiramisu) - all of them were satisfying. We sat a small patio area which was perfectly quiet, which we enjoyed. I will definitely come back here.

I had high expectations for this restaurant but I was a little bit disappointed. Don’t get me wrong, the restaurant is nice, service was great, but the food was just OK and too pricey for its quality. We ended up paying $100+ per person for average Italian food. Will not repeat.

I must say that I am thoroughly impressed with the quality of the food and the exceptional level of service provided. The dishes were not only delicious, but also very well-presented. The waitstaff was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu, which made the dining experience all the more enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great meal and a wonderful dining experience.

We (3 of us) sat inside where it was bustling and energetic for a Sunday early dinner at 6:00 pm. Tables inside are cozy bordering on snug. Outside dining is available on the street; quiet for Sunday evening. Felt like we were back in Italy charming atmosphere, Italian spoken. Greeted promptly with water and a bottle of wine served quickly. Food was delicious, antipasti; swordfish carpaccio, stuffed squash blossoms with ricotta cheese in a spicy tomato sauce. Two pastas in a lemon sauce and pappardelle ragu. Shared dessert was carrot cake with nutella in between layer. Not moist as you might expect however tasty. Yes, recommend.

We had a perfect dinner last night with everyone loving every dish. Terrific zucchini blossoms and butter lettuce salad to start. Red Cow parmigiana with strawberry jam also fun. All our risotti e pastas were lovely and bread pudding was a killer
