The name “Amylos” denotes our passion for food and bringing to you Greece’s authentic flavors. We carefully chose the most original recipes ranging from various regions in Greece; starting from the southern Aegean islands to the northern mainland, each region has its own unique take on cooking. Amylos, meaning the “building blocks of food”, is synonymous to our concept of building a sustainable menu created from pure raw materials, attention to detail, nonnegotiable standards, and ingredients of the finest quality. Service was horrible. No steak knives. No extra plate for my 8 year old. No check in after food was delivered. World smallest tomahawk. Just a terrible Mother’s Day experience.

I had ordered fried calamari for appetizer and it was vey good. For the entree I ordered the salmon and that was very good too and so was the dessert. The only if found a little pricy was the white wine since it was a very small amount.

Rest was short staffed. There was only one waiter and he forgot to bring the requested item. It is unfair to the waiter to attend the entire rest by himself.

Food was delicious. (Fig salad, saganaki, rock shrimp, mixed grill, baklava cheesecake, etc.—all amazing!) Our waiter Laki was awesome. The noise level was RIDICULOUS. Club music pumping at deafening levels. It’s a restaurant. Not a bar or a club. We could barely have a conversation. My throat was hurting from yelling. Also the policy of making you wait at the bar until the rest of your party arrives is annoying. We had a table for 4. Our 2 friends were looking for parking. They could’ve let us sit at the table and order our drinks. But instead they made us sit at the bar and stare at our empty table. Not rushing to come back anytime soon. Which is unfortunate because the food was excellent.

Amylos's food is always great but our server Panos was outstanding I would go back just for him. He also made one of the best Frappes I've ever had. I had the best birthday dinner I will be returning very soon.

We really enjoyed this restaurant. We noticed we have been there before outside, during covid. This was a much nicer experience! Unfortunately I can't remember the waiters name, but he was knowledgeable and attentive, over and above.

Amylos is my favorite Greek restaurant in NY, hands down. Their food is unparalleled and their service is impeccable. I’ve been there five or six times now and will keep coming back as often as possible.

We celebrated Valentine's Day. The food was not bad, but extremely bad. We also almost were overcharged for extra items rhag we did not order. Luckily, I checked the bill and asked for a revised one.

This is one of my favorite spots for Greek food in Astoria and loved getting the chance to experience it for Valentine’s Day. Amylos was offering a set 5 course menu and being a foodie, I loved tasting all of it. The ambiance was also amazing, filled with balloons everywhere and the soft scent of roses lingering in the air. A romantic spot made even more so for the occasion. Highly recommend.

We had never been to Amylos. The ambience is very nice with a cozy feel however, it was very loud. The food was good, especially the butternut squash appetizer and grilled octopus. For the main course we had the halibut and the lavraki (Greek sea bass?) and those were also very flavorful. The only downside was that we sat at a table by the door and it was chaos with people coming and going as well as it being chilly due to the door opening and closing. A table in the back would have been preferable. Nikos, our waiter was attentive and very personable. Overall it was a nice experience and we would go back.

Consistently good. It’s so hard to find a place that you love and it hits just as good as the first time. Attentive and quick service, good comes out perfectly cooked. Seafood risotto, the lamb burger, fig salad, the short rib pasta, fried calamari, lamb chops are all incredible and recommended. Three visit so far and looking forward to going back again.

Asked for a nice corner table for a friends reunion and got one, in addition to being right by the windows. Great ambience and the staff was really attentive and helpful. The food was fantastic. We had a lovely time and we all want to come back again, one of my friends has already sent photos of the menu to others. We were spoiled for choices on it. And as a vegetarian, there were definitely enough options for me as well. Definitely recommend this place!

Everything from start to finish was amazing. We had a few appetizers but the octopus was cooked perfect and so tasty. The lamb shank was full of flavor and fell off the bone. The short rib ragù wad so tasty, the meat was tender and flavorful. I highly recommend to anyone looking for a great Greek spot. I can’t wait to go back

The server, Basiles (if that's the correct spelling), was consistently pleasant and wore a constant smile. When my sister misplaced her earring, the hostess, manager, and staff went above and beyond to assist in searching throughout the dining area. Kudos to the excellent staff! This marked my fifth dining experience here.

Very pricey fish. The grilled calamari was sub par. It would have never been served in Greece. The waiter Stavros was fantastic.

Were were actually 4 persons with a booking error which cannot be ascribed to the restaurant but to poor online interface at Opentable. We were treated very well at every stage of the meal despite the initial confusion over numbers on a very busy evening. Help with choice of a good reasonably price Greek white wine, realistic guidance over portions, incredibly rapid kitchen service with dishes that were beautifully cooked showing the variety of Greek dishes to very good effect. We had Mezze between all of 4 us and could not have been more pleased with the presentation, temperature and flavours. We wholeheartedly congratulate Amylos and Stavros our server, in particular. Nothing about this restaurant, food or staff was starchy in the least! We will be very happy to return when we visit New York again.
