The best award-winning steakhouse in the area! Worth the drive from Banner Elk (13 miles), Beech Mountain, Sugar Mountain (30 minute drive) , Johnson City or wherever you are. Americano Steak House is a local, veteran-owned restaurant featuring hand-cut steaks, fresh seafood, amazing salads, 1/2 pound steak-burgers, decadent desserts and the only full liquor bar in the East Tennessee mountains will over 100 wines by the bottle and glass.

We kindly ask that you do not show up early for your reservation, but simply on time. We are a small, boutique steakhouse that focuses on exceptional food and incredible service in the mountains of East Tennessee and typically cannot seat guests earlier than their reserved time.

While we have always discouraged them, our policy towards no shows/same day cancelations MUST be firm. No shows and same day cancellations are the plague of the industry and we ask of you to uphold your end of this commitment as we are thrilled to provide on our end.

Dinner reservation was for a special need 10-year-old boy and his mother. The table was to be 1 chair and 1 wheelchair. The restaurant was not crowed at all. The hostess seemed to be overwhelmed even though it was not super busy. She was rude to the 10-year-old boy who was trying to learn how to treat his mother and women. He was in charge of telling the hostess the name of reservation etc. The table was not ready and that was fine, but she had to tell them that they were early anyway. Now let me tell you they were 4 minutes early. This was also a part of a young man learning responsibility. If you have a reservation, be on time. He was the one in the wheelchair and as they approached the table, he was following her and the extra chair at the table had to be moved and she snapped at him that he needed to move out of the way. I am the grandmother to this boy and I had arranged all of this early for him and even called to confirm prior to Mother's Day. My grandson did end up telling his mom that she reminded him of Cruella. The food and the atmosphere and waitress were absolutely amazing, and I would highly recommend this establishment to anyone. For the owner, first impressions are everything and you have worked so hard to make it beautiful establishment with the best steak around. I would highly recommend extended training on just plain ole common sense curtesy. We will return to your fine establishment and hope to be greeted by a smiling, calm and personable hostess.

The restaurant and people are a diamond in the rough. The most delicious grouper I've ever had in my life! Presentation of all meals at our table was beautiful, and everything tasted wonderful. 5 stars all around

For Roan Mtn this place is probably good. But otherwise, a huge disappointment. I supposedly ordered a Prime ribeye. This was a Choice cut at best. I know my steaks. Apps and fries were clearly just from US Foods. Certainly not house made. Neat to see someone in this area trying to have a real restaurant, and locals really don’t know better. But if you’re used to good dining, go elsewhere. Our server was great though. Props to her.

As always fantastic! Truly love the Oysters Rockefeller! Excellent wine list and a fabulous Old Fashioned. The bread pudding is divine. Very caring service, professional, polite, efficient and gracious.

Top rate dining experience. Ordered the Cajun shrimp/andouie sausage stuffed mushrooms…fantastic! Ordered the Prime Rib Tips in onion and mushroom sauce served over garlic mashed potatoes along with Caesar salad. Again superb. Topped the meal with their signature Buffalo Trace Bread Pudding with Scoop of Vanilla ice cream. OMG

Once again a great dinner and culinary experience. We had planned to have dinner with our friends and booked a table of 4 with OpenTable. If you are dining on Friday or Saturday nights reservations are necessary. The Spinach & Artichoke dip was fantastic as well as the Salt & Pepper Squid. We had great Steaks, Filet, New York Strip, Sirloin, and Crab Cakes. The restaurant was crowded when we arrived and it took a little while for our waitress to get our orders in. The crispy Brussels sprouts with balsamic vinegar & goat cheese were our favorite of all their delicious sides. Unfortunately our favorite waitress Bonnie wasn’t working Friday night, she’s our favorite. This is hidden gem tucked away in Roan Mountain Tn.

Fabulous,ours, welcoming service. The BEST old fashioned I have ever had. The oysters Rockefeller were simply the best. With a nod to local cuisine I had the sesame seared trout with ramps and garlic mashed potatoes. The ramps were divine, and there is a very short season! Kudos for including them on the menu. Then the bread pudding with the Buffalo Trace bourbon sauce was exquisite, with a scoop of ice cream to “cut the sweetness” A wonderful dining experience.

This was the first time that I had dinner there and it lived up to my expectations. The only thing was they ask if it was a special occasion and I said yes it was our anniversary. I guess I thought we were going to have something special but there wasn’t.

Used OpenTable to secure reservations. A must on Thurs, Fri & Sat’s. The Americano Top Shelf Margarita is a favorite and go to drink to set the evening on the right path. Ordered Escargot for an appetizer ( love the garlic sauce and bread…sopping to savor the taste). Also had a Caesar salad (great taste with croutons and grilled cheese chips). Everyone ordered the Medium Rare Prime Rib cut with either creamy or raw horseradish and selection of side. Perfectly prepared. The finale was the bread pudding, a full scoop of vanilla ice cream with a Whiskey Sauce. Unbelievable dinner. Americano is the best for miles and miles.

We were so excited to dine at another restaurant near Beech Mtn. Definitely worth the little drive into Tennessee. The food was spectacular. And others think so too because there was a steady stream of customers. Make reservations!! And you won’t be disappointed!!!
