Open seven days a week for lunch and dinner, Amalfi Cucina & Mercato - Downtown Atlanta is a traditional Neapolitan trattoria centered around an open kitchen featuring a 6,000 pound wood-burning brick oven imported from Italy. The 170 seat dining room also has large semicircular booths, custom wrought iron chandeliers along with Juliet balconies overlooking an Italian-inspired entryway. Originating in and the true pizza of Naples in the 1600s, Vera Pizza Napoletana is 12 inches or less in size, made from simple fresh quality ingredients from the Campania region of Italy and cooked at temperatures in excess of 900 degrees in approximately 60 seconds. Just launched, a new menu which includes many fresh pastas, salads, appetizers and desserts, including beautiful imported gelato. Enjoy a full bar with local beer on tap, exclusive wine list and specialty cocktails in beautiful Downtown Atlanta.

When we arrived at the restaurant and were being seated, I asked to sit in a booth but was directed to a table at the back of the restaurant instead. I ordered the veal marsala, The veal was a thin piece of tough meat. The risotto was in some type of white sauce that resembled milk and the whole thing was bland and tasteless. The broccolini was mush. One of my guests had chicken Alfredo. The sauce was thin and watery. My other guest had chicken piccata with what appeared to be spaghetti that was way over cooked. In short the food was terrible. The cooks in the kitchen don't know what they're doing. If you want Italian, look elsewhere.

The food was very good. We had the house salad, the rigattoni and the chicken piccata. Everything was delicious. We were there with a baby and the service was very good.

Ours was a table of 4 with some shared dishes for all to try. We all wanted to try the lobster ravioli. It was amazing. We also all sampled the quattro formaggio pizza and were delighted. Those that ordered the spaghetti and meatballs were very pleased with their dish, and two of us ordered the chioppino. The shrimp were completely overcooked, which was disappointing. The broth and bread were nice, as were the other shellfish. The take-home from our experience was that I've not one complimentary thing to say about our waitress. Ms. Ark B, we aimed to have a wonderful evening and are unsure why you did not do the same. All of us you served worked your job and respectfully left the suggested tip, but damn lady.

Good food for the price. Pizza is delicious. Pasta can be a little better but are good. Defentely a must for Italian food at Atlanta Downtown.

Avevo prenotato un tavolo e mi hanno messo seduto al banco del bar per mangiare perché non avevano posto e la prenotazione era confermata. Pizza con la pasta molto poca cotta perché avevano fretta. Ho chiesto un bicchiere di vino di una marca e me ne hanno dato di un’altra. Il servizio molto superficiale. Non consiglio assolutamente!

The food, ambiance, and service were exceptional. We started with the Sautè di Cozze for an appetizer, I had the Cioppino for my entree, and my husband had the Lobster Ravioli. We indulged in a Cello Drop and an Espresso'tini for our beverages. Everything was 10/10. Our server, Ricky, was very accommodating and amiable. The restaurant's vibe was upbeat and fun.

Absolutely loved the food, the atmosphere, the service! However the hostess was less than friendly and my experience with her almost provided clause to leave before the dining. Being located in such a hot spot of the city for tours and tourist having such a poor attitude at the door puts a terrible taste in your mouth before you’ve even made it to the table. But besides that one aspect everything else was absolutely amazing. Our waitress was friendly and offered great recommendations. The food was timely and delicious!

A little hidden Italy Gem in Downtown Atlanta! The entry took me back to Italy and was pretty for Prom Pics. The only issue would be the presentation of Veal Marsala, it tasted wonderful, but the plating was a hot mess. We had to order a $5 basket of bread since my husband's food was floating in Brocilini Marsala Soup. I would experiment with plating this differently. Otherwise, great experience.

Our first impression was very bad because the hostess was extremely sarcastic when seating us, when we asked for a different seat, but our server was very nice, and the food was very good!

We loved our server she was sweet and so was the host. The food was delicious but the desserts were outstanding!!!! The ambience was beautiful. I loved the open concept. Beautiful restaurant we will definitely be back next time we are in Atlanta!

False advertising. We thought it was a special occasion dining. The bathrooms were disgusting. The booth that we sat in was all tore up and the place was just not clean. The food was just so so. My husband had the Bolognese and there was so much sauce you could hardly find the pasta. one of my sons had the Alfredo. It was the same thing way too much sauce. They brought our food out before we were done with our appetizers so we felt rushed.

Seated… then waited while we watched servers fight over whose table it was… 15 mins later someone came over who made it clear they weren’t our server but took drink order. No drinks arrive but another server who tells us she didn’t know it was her table. I don’t care! Takes order… never see her again… She took forever to bring a check when we flagged her down to ask. Keep in mind this restaurant is very open, we can see what you are doing - or not doing. It was an awful experience.

The food was delicious. The music was a little too loud at 9:30 pm which made it very difficult to hear the server. We were happy they still seated us being 12 minutes late due to volleyball tournament.

I booked this reservation for my team and I as we were in town for the Hinman Dental Conference in Atlanta. I was disappointed in our service. Our hostess who sat us was very matter of fact and not very welcoming and pleasant. Our server did not check on us often. We had to get her attention several times to get refills on our water. I don't remember her name. She was a Caucasian woman with a small frame in her 20s-30s. Halfway through our meal, we noticed that we didn't have any bread. I asked to order bread and the server mentioned that most guests order it at the beginning of the meal. I informed her that I was not aware that I had to ask for bread at an Italian restaurant. I asked for the price and she told me it was $5. We waited approx 15 mins and never received the bread. I was able to get our server's attention and informed her that we wanted to take the bread off the check since we never received it and our meal was now completed. The server never apologized for this inconvenience. She just laughed and said, "You know why you didn't receive your bread? It's because they put it on the wrong table!" She never bothered to apologize for the inconvenience. At the end of our meal, one of the servers at the restaurant was walking through the restaurant vaping or smoking. I saw smoke coming out of her mouth as she walked through the restaurant. This was an African American woman with long braids (again, I did not get her name). She was one of the people who was leading the Cupid Shuffle dance with other guests. There was a gentleman there who delivered our food to the table. He was very pleasant and helpful. Overall, I wish our experience was more pleasant. We were having a business dinner and we were hoping to not have so many distractions with poor service on an important night like that. I wanted to bring these concerns up to management so that others do not experience this.

Just ok - based on reviews we expected to be transported to Amalfi…very noisy with no Italian music except on the advert video playing by the door. Our table was open to courtyard and received constant cigar bar smoke from below. Calamari was good, pizza was ok - the Carne pizza looked a bit sloppy with large portions of meat in clumps, the bacon jam made it too wet to pick up and the main taste came from char on the crust. Veal parm and spaghetti were large portions but just ok - slightly dry. Service was average for Friday night. Overall appearance was not what we expected as the website shows Buckhead location.

Took my girlfriend for a night out on the town. This place was a great start with interesting views of the city and neat brick entrance that smelled of cigars (I was a fan). But service was fast and professional and food and drinks amazing.

C.C. was a wonderful waitress. They were busy with conference goers and spring breakers, but C.C. handled those delays very well (and with her amazingly funny stories)!

Good food, inconsistent, very slow service. Our server was friendly at first but then things went downhill. After finishing dinner (which we enjoyed), we sat for 20 minutes with empty plates before she returned and we ordered dessert as we wanted to try the cheesecake that she said was 'to die for'. In hindsight, I should not have done this bc I was already annoyed with waiting for so long and she had stopped filling my water-I had to drink my daughter's water (never refilled). She returned after 5 minutes to ask me to pay which I found odd since we had not had the dessert yet, but agreed to save time. She had a tablet and told me the total which seemed higher than I anticipated so I asked to see the check-she then showed me the tablet with our items. Felt scammed a bit by being charged for a side salad since it was not mentioned that it was extra-she simply asked if we wanted a Caesar or garden salad with our entree, made it seem like it was included. She was rude about that and I let it go. I paid, tipped her well even though I wasn't very happy with the service, & we also still had our dessert coming. We waited over 20 minutes more and then she told us the cheesecake was sold out-she just served the last 2 slices-which what? We ordered it 30 minutes ago?! Baffling. She voided my previous payment which would not have been necessary if I hadn't been asked to pay before getting our dessert but whatever. She threw out an offer for tiramisu or cannoli for the dessert situation, and I was frustrated, tired, and over the whole experience at this point but just accepted it bc I wanted to leave as soon as possible. I paid (again), she brought us a bag with both a tiramisu and cannoli which was a nice gesture, but considering the way things went, not sure it made up for it. Maybe she had too many tables or a bad night, but I did not appreciate the way she talked to me with so much attitude. I have never in my life had a server speak to me so rudely like that.

The perfect dinner spot in downtown Atlanta! After a long day of exploring the city, Amalfi was a great restaurant to relax and enjoy delicious food. We sampled many appetizers including the ciabatta tostatas, zucchini flowers, and fried artichoke. All of the food we ordered was delicious and our service was great! We did make a reservation (which I recommend doing). Overall great ambience, food, and service that made for a really great dinner. Also recommend sampling their dessert menu!! The lemon cheesecake and tiramisu were so delightful!

We had a great experience! We were very well taken care of from the moment we arrived until we left! Our waitress, Sunny, was really great and really made our dining experience pleasant and enjoyable! Using Open Table to book our reservation was really easy and as soon as we arrived we were greeted and they knew we had arrived for our reservation!

The place is super cool. We got seated right away but then it took about 10 minutes before someone even came over. The calamari and Cesar salad were excellent. Main course of chicken parm and chicken Alfredo were average at best. The server couldn’t have tried to care less. This place has so much potential but falls short.

Had to wait 30 min with reservations. Food took 45 min. Food quality was just average. Service was less than desirable.
