Nestled alongside the Fox River, and including a full-service container bar, our patio comes alive 12 months out of the year with a heated seasonal enclosure during the winter months.

Looking to host a party? Our private dining room adjacent to the brew house is certain to bring together small to medium sized private events in a vibrant sit down or cocktail environment.

While our beer is certainly the front man of this band, the supporting musicians are excellent players! A full-service kitchen, wine and spirit program allows not just beer lovers but all to enjoy our carefully curated offerings. Whether you come for the beer, food, wine or spirits we know you’ll stay and come back because of the great times you’ll have.

The food is always tasty. Price a bit high for what it is but I appreciate a non-chain restaurant offering solid, elevated micro-brewery fare.

A good pace for a casual meal. They have a nice variety of options, something for everyone. Service has always been good. And if you're a beer lover even better for you.

1st time and we just had a great time. The food & service were great. We sat in an Alpine Globe and it was very comfortable, as it was cold @ windy outside. Also it allowed the 6 of us to have good conversations. Definitely a great place to go to again

Service from Paul was excellent. Food came out faster than expected and was tasty and beverages were also good. The cauliflower breading was a bit too thick-hence my 4⭐️on food because my stomach was a bit queasy for the rest of the night-too much grease and bread when it could be so tasty with less

Disappointing overall, table wasn't ready when we arrived (party of 14), service was slow, food was overpriced for the quality and variety.

Had a reservation. Weren't allowed to sit in the main area, even though tables were empty. In fact, people without reservations were seated in the main area. We were relegated to the extremely cold addition. Hard to enjoy a meal in the cold.

Our group of eight chose an alpen globe for seating and it was warm and cozy and unique. Dessert, fried pickles, veggie entrees, Reuben, and flatbread all delicious. We’ll be back!

Went to a beer pairing dinner that was excellent ! Perfect amount of food. The chef came out to explain each course & the beer mister then explained ed his choices. Very glad we attended

My first trip to Alter Brewing was fantastic! For someone who doesn't drink often, the food was delicious, service was kind and courteous despite being a busy Saturday night, and I will definitely be returning. 🙂

Great microbrewery. Food better than others I have been to. The brisket nachos are awesome and my burger was perfectly done. I will return in the summer when we can sit outside. Looks like a great time when it is fully open when the weather is decent.

It was a very comfortable meal and experience for our entire family. Our server was very good and gave us our space while being there when we needed her. It was a fun evening.

We celebrated a family holiday get-together in an igloo. We had an initial very friendly, personal conversation with the owner (who is awesome)! Our waitstaff were wonderful from the first to the last. Even thou we were in an igloo and it was cold and wet, we were comfy warm inside. We started with the pretzel and dips and ordered bison and regular burgers and salads, the portions were so large we split the sandwiches. The cook actually does so for you along with the fries! Wonderful staff, food and experience. Very reasonably priced. We will be returning! Thank you!

We did our globe dinner and service from Tom was great. Probably the best service we’ve had while at alter. Food was fine, brisket chips were good, alter burgers are just burgers, but not bad. Kids had fun bc it’s private igloo seating which also let my husband and I enjoy the te more knowing our kids weren’t impacted others dinner experience. :)

We loved being able to eat inside the igloos this winter with our kids, but this is our third time trying out their food menu and it just disappoints us every single time. We will stick to just visiting for drinks and opt out of eating there in the future.

The Buffalo wings (truffle Buffalo?) were outstanding! The pancetta, goat cheese and fig flatbread was one of the best dishes I have ever had-the salty/sweet-creamy/crunchy was perfectly balanced-what a fantastic combo !!! My husband’s burger was very good as well. I really enjoyed my stout-swetta wetta🍺

Enjoyable enough. Waitress was fantastic. Food was OK. The main gripe I have regards GETTING there. First Street looks like a war zone, and is cordoned off by fences and construction junk. I literally could not get across the street without having to go through an alley and parking garage. I understand that there are challenges with on-going constructio, but a sign or two explaining where to go would be nice. And for goodness sake, put it on your website! I will not be returning, at least until the construction is complete.
