Alta Calidad is located in the Prospect Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn where Chef Akhtar Nawab is cooking innovative Mexican cuisine. The Spanish translation of "Alta Calidad" means "high quality" and it's our goal to provide that with every dish that we serve. Our goal is to cook with pride and integrity and have a lot of fun doing it!! We're thrilled to be part of this amazing Brooklyn community and we want each of you to join us and participate in this exciting adventure! Alta Calidad is a Michelin Bib Gourmand award winning restaurant and Certified Minority Owned Business.

The variety of the menu, mixing different Mexican-inspired flavors wonderfully, plus great service and a chill atmosphere made our evening an exceptional one! Will certainly come back to try all the items in the menu!

Amazing food for great value, but absolutely horrible service. Had to go inside to ask for the check after waitress did not come over for 30 minutes. Then had to go in to pay the check because no one came to collect it. No water refills for the last hour

I've been to Alta Calidad several times and the food is always fantastic. For some reason my breakfast burrito - my go-to usual- was a bit too spicy today. Still fantastic, but a little spicier than my preference. My daughter had the steak tacos, which is her favorite. She said they were really delicious. But, I must say that anyone I bring there for brunch has been wowed by the quality and flavor of the food. My favorites are the pancakes, the breakfast burrito, and the chips, guacamole and salsa. My Drinks are tasty, and even the coffee is fantastic. I've never been there for dinner so I can only vouch for the brunch and lunch, which never disappoints!

I came here for brunch with a few friends and we sat outside. They have nice seating outside. Their brunch food is great but SPICY. I like spicy food but their green sauce is on everything and is very spicy. So it was hard for us to finish some of our food. It was a bit expensive, but a nice experience.

Very good food, fresh, well prepared. The noise level was noisy, I hate having to shout conversation or have to lean across the table to hear someone.

Foolishly I thought that Vanderbilt would be noisy with traffic and chose a table inside. WRONG!! The noise level inside was mind numbingly high.

Stopped by for a 5o'clock dinner (w/reservation) pre NY Liberty game. Guac and chips and a smoky tomato dip was generous and delicious. Split an order of two of the chicken rosemary tacos and the carne asada tacos. Clean and distinct tastes to each. Couple of drinks - classic margarita and an aqua fresca (watermelon puree deliciousness). Personable staff, quick service. Would def. return.

Top notch service and food. Super solid guac, torta was to die for, and all the cocktails were awesome. Really attentive staff. Really a 10/10 experience.

Never again will I trust google reviews. Started with the chips and guac+salsa.. salsa was underwhelming.. no spice. Tacos came out, there was a piece of plastic embedded in my husband’s carne asada taco and while the chef came out to apologize, didn’t make up for the shock and disgust. Upon trying both the carne asada tacos and the fish tacos I was both confused as well as frustrated.. this was one of the highest rated taco spots in park slope yet both of their tacos were absolutely disgusting. The carne asada came with BBQ sauce, perhaps to cover up the super meaty flavor of their carne … could get myself to finish even one… the fish tacos were so fishy I was trying to mask it with the abundance of relishes that came with that taco and the fishiness still came through. Lastly, the ambience.. the couple next to us selfishly brought their baby with WHOOPING COUGH to the inside dining portion of the restaurant .. so not only was croup the only thing I heard for an hour straight, i was shocked at how remiss this couple was both for the health of their child and for the people sitting around them. This experience was absolutely abysmal. Someone would have to pay me to ever go back there … the only positive and I mean ONLY POSITIVE is their spicy pineapple marg..

Great brunch food and drinks. Ordered Chilaquiles and the sauces were amazing. I also ordered a mezcal margarita and was fantastic. Highly recommend.

Awful waitress - she had a terse manner, and a huge attitude. Anything we asked for was a big inconvenience to her based on her reaction. Shame since it was a birthday lunch and meant to be a special one.

The enthusiasm of the staff, especially the owner, about their process, menu items, especially the balsamic vinegar was infectious. And they sang Happy Birthday with panache!

The fish tacos (Mahi-Mahi) were delicious. I’m use to 3 tacos but 2 of these tacos are the perfect amount. The Brussel sprouts were tasty (a tad too sweet for me, but yummy for my wife). And we loved the margarita cocktail. Brittany, our server, was pleasant and took care of us. BIG UPS to the cool QR scan for payment and tip.

Before the pandemic, this was one my absolute favorite places in the neighborhood because of its top notch, creative and delicious dishes. No more. I got the maitake tacos, which were downright awful, and the octopus. The octopus was tender, but the dish was otherwise boring. I am sad about the decline of this once great restaurant.

had an issue with getting the food for one of the guests in our party, who waited over 40 minutes, while the rest of us got our food within 10 minutes of ordering, and there was nothing done to address or compensate this scenario. That said, food is great, maybe don't go during prime hours.

Alta Calidad is such a great addition to the neighborhood. The food is excellent. Our guest that evening said it was the best carne asada (tacos) he had ever had! I do think they need to watch their prices. I live in NYC so I am used to it, but given it is a neighborhood place it’s getting a bit too close to special occasion pricing. Especially the drinks.

Food and drinks were great. Place is quite loud, though, with a preponderance of bass coming from the speakers. Probably a good idea not to order everything at the same time, too, or all of your food will pretty much all come out at the same time.

The food was amazing!! we went there to celebrate my birthday and we had a great time, the service is very good and we felt really comfortable. Drinks were very good as well.
