What a great find! I made a last minute reservation here and was optimistic based on reviews but every expectation I had was exceeded. From the time we walked in until we left everything was outstanding. Service was top notch across the board and the food was delicious. From the Caesar salad made at tableside to the chocolate mousse for dessert, everything was perfect. My entree was dentice Mediterranean which was packed with flavor. I could eat it every day. I can’t say enough good things about Allora! We loved it.

Wait staff just kept walking around rearranging the tables. Very annoying and distracting. We were the only ones there. Food was decent.

Absolutely wonderful dinner at Allora Fifth Ave. The space is simple but so beautiful and elegant. The pappardelle with mushrooms was just amazing, and the snapper was divine. The banana tart was the perfect end to a perfect meal. My server John was phenomenal, and treated me like I was royalty. One of NYC’s best Italian restaurants. I look forward to returning.

This place was such a class act. The food was delectable. The ambiance was lovely. The service was exceptional. I wrote a note indicating some special needs required (one guest with hearing problems, another with vision problems) and they did every single thing possible to accommodate us in a less noisy and well lit area. We were lucky that they weren’t super crowded yet (5:30 reservation) and so they were able to give us so much attention but they made the night so pleasant and comfortable, it was really special. Can’t wait to return!! Highly recommend. We ate and loved the Caesar salad, special salad with burrata and avocado and pistachio dust, veal parm, chicken scarpariello, and pesto gnocchi. All delish, and ranked in that order, favorite first. The espresso martini was to die for. Yum. Thanks to Dmitri and to the lovely hostess who made the night so perfect. Cheers!

La comida fue muy decepcionante. Fuimos 4 personas. Mis hijos comieron unos rigatoni, con una salsa de tomate básica. El plato era muy pequeño y demasiado básico. La salsa parecía recién salida de una lata. También pedimos unos ravioles, eran 6 ravioles con una salsa también muy básica. Lo único “rico” fue el risotto de hongos, el cual hubo que compartir porque todos se quedaron con hambre y era el único plato de un tamaño decente. Tomamos dos copas de vino y pagamos 320 usd. Sinceramente me dolió pagar ese precio por una comida que podría haber hecho en mi casa. Lo positivo, las personas fueron muy amables y nos atendieron muy bien. Lamento dejar esta reseña pero me hubiera gustado leerla antes de ir.

Last evening, my wife and I had the pleasure of dining at Allora Fifth Ave, and it was an experience that left us utterly enchanted. From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted with the warmth and grace that one only dreams of finding in a dining establishment. The dining experience transported us back to a memorable dinner we had in a quaint village in Tuscany, Italy, some twenty years ago, with Allora embodying the epitome of Italian hospitality. The service was impeccable, with our table being attended to by five or six different staff members, each specializing in a different function, yet all united in making us feel exceptionally welcome. This collaborative service approach is a testament to the restaurant's dedication to ensuring that every guest feels cherished and valued. The highlight of our visit was undoubtedly the food. The veal marsala, in particular, was sublime, easily ranking as one of the top few I have ever had the joy of savoring. Its authenticity and exquisite flavor reminded us of the fabulous, authentic Italian dinners that are hard to come by outside of Italy. We left Allora Fifth Ave feeling grateful for the discovery of such a gem. The whole experience was not just a meal but a celebration of Italian culture and cuisine. My wife and I are already looking forward to our next visit, and we're eager to share this wonderful find with our children soon. It's clear to us that Allora Fifth Ave will become a regular place to dine for our family, promising many more evenings of delightful dining and cherished memories. The main waiter kept shaming the waiter in training in public. The salmon was flavorless, and the wine was mediocre. It’s the service that made this experience unbearable.

Our first time here hosting out of town friends. We enjoyed the experience, starting with the friendly bartender and all the way through dessert and after dinner drinks. The mushroom risotto was delish. The rest of the table ordered the rigatoni. (Although they all enjoyed it, I think the guys would’ve liked a bigger serving.) We’ll be back!

We went here before a broadway show for lunch. It was not that crowded as they had just opened. The food was probably the best Italian I have had in a long long time, and my husband and I eat out at many Italian restaurants. Fabulous! Complimentary apps were outstanding! The service was absolutely wonderful. Our waiter, and I wish i could remember his name, was outstanding, friendly, personable and knowledgeable about the menu. He made our dining experience a pleasure. I will definitely go back to Allora, as a matter of fact, I'd like to stay at the hotel there. Looks great!

We had an amazing experience! Ben, our server, was exceptional and made our meal even more enjoyable. The service was top-notch and the food was absolutely incredible. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a fantastic dining experience. Wah waah.

The food is overpriced and mediocre at best. The ‘metre’ theatrics are annoying. He should focus on serving the guests instead of calling their attention by being obnoxious and loud, abusing his employees by constantly yelling at them. Then the bill came. They added a hot tea to my bill that wasn’t mine. I just happened to catch the overcharge. I went for a relaxing dinner and ended up having a bad experience- couldn’t get out of the fast enough.

We have used Open Table for years, but this is my first review. Allora’s food is absolutely delicious! The friendly and personable staff made the overall experience one of the highlights of our NYC visit. Our family enjoyed our lunch so much we returned the next night for dinner. The drinks crafted by the talented bartender, Kelvin, are excellent, and Lorik’s lattes are literally the BEST!

The staff was wonderful, everyone from Calvin behind the bar to the young man who brought the bread to the table. The food was well presented and taste delicious. This truly is a must visit when in NYC.

We made a last-minute reservation after finishing our Empire State Building tour. Our kids were gassed, adults were cold, and we were not dressed for a nice dinner. The maitre d' Elio met us at the front and tossed a few jokes towards the kids, putting our edgy group at ease. Next came a couple of Shirley Temples followed by zucchini chips and a salami/cheese plate on the house. Having already performed a minor miracle, the staff followed it up by making some excellent wine and food recommendations. The entire staff was in on the act.

Took over an hour to seat us after our reservation time, they took 20 minutes to acknowledge us aftwr we were seated, we had to request water after 30 monutes because apparently it’s not common knowledge that people need water as they wait 50 minutes to have their drinks served. The appetizer we ordered wasn’t available so they took it upon themselves to serve us some makeshift app that was nothing short of a disappointment. From the moment we sat down to the moment we got our main course, it was 2.5 hours. Needless to say, we will not be going back. Service was 2 of 10, definitely killed the night.

Reservation was at 7, wasn’t seated until 8. Total nightmare for the staff, clearly they overbooked. Didn’t have enough tables and everyone was running around. When we had a little food left, they asked us if we were done 5 times and we said no each time. Felt rushed, and they didn’t do anything to make up for the wait time. Tip is included in the bill, that’s probably why they don’t care. Go somewhere else.

Took hour and half for food to come. When it came the food was incorrect. The pasta was under cooked. The ravioli of the day was served with 6 total raviolis. Very disappointed.

I give them credit for working hard. It was crowded and loud, and still the service was very good. They were very apologetic for the slight wait to be seated. However, for the price, the food should have been fantastic. My pasta came out slightly over cooked and very stuck together as if it had been sitting around after it was drained. This is unfortunate as the sauce had a nice flavor. But when you are paying close to $30 for a meatless pasta dish, it should be perfect.

Die Bedienung ist eine 3 Klassengruppe. „1. Ober, 2. Ober und Hilfspersonal.“Für mich für dieses Lokal und die Qualität zu übertrieben. Das Essen war gut aber keine besonders herausragende Qualität. Die Desserts verloren im Laufe des Abends auf ihrem Schautisch erheblich an Aussehen. Im Lokal war es eng und sehr laut.

Don’t waste your money or time coming to this restaurant!!! they are very disorganized, the stuff is rude ( after wait a around 20 min for the menu I ask for the waitress if he can get one for my table and he said “this is not my problem” ) this is just a example that happened when I went dinner. When we booked Allora, I was excited. I read reviews and did some research on this find. I am a sucker for food. From the moment we walked in, I was uncomfortable. The guest host was rude, his facial affect was flat, he looked at me as if I was a disgusting mess. We had walked all day in NYC during Santacon and had been looking forward to a nice Italian restaurant. My friends, whom you would have thought were peasants in the eyes of the wait staff, chef, and bartender, were gazed at as if we “didn’t get the message” that we wouldn’t be welcome here. Mind you, we were moderately and casually dressed with some Santa hat attire, classy if you ask me. As we sat through our experience, our service got weird. We would be in mid bite, on an appetizer or eating out antipasto and the staff would swoop up the plates, twice knocking food right out of two of four dinner party attendees fingers. We asked what dish was preferred, as we were all focusing on the table prepared lam chops. You would have thought that we were peasants again, treated as if “how dare you ask what dishes are preferred here.” I have to say, all week long my party of four tipped 20% above the average. We walked in preparing, as we did all week, to tip for top of the line service and atmosphere. I’ve never left no tip but this was the first time I considered it. We left 20% but if the wait staff had treated us like we were human, they would have made so much more. I’m talking a hundred dollars different. If you go here, the food is excellent, the staff is not. I mean all 5 staff we engaged with mistreated us. It’s unfortunate.

My wife and I decided to try out an Italian restaurant nearby during our visit in NYC. We made a reservation through OpenTable and headed there. First off, the look of surprise on the hostess’s face when we mentioned our OpenTable reservation was a bit awkward. Then, although the place wasn’t too crowded, there was a large and rather lively dinner group that made it a bit noisy. Service was a tad slow, and honestly, a bit on the rude side. Our main dishes took quite a while to arrive. Lastly, just as we were about to order dessert, they unexpectedly brought us the check and asked us to leave due to another reservation. It felt a bit rushed, especially since there were other tables that finished dining before us. Overall, if you’re strolling down 5th Avenue as a tourist and thinking of finding a good Italian restaurant, I’d suggest giving this one a pass.
