We are now open at 4pm for Happy Hour! Discounted cocktails, wines, and small plates. (4pm-6pm Wednesday through Sunday) The Cheeseburger and other beloved items have returned.

Alderwood Santa Cruz is a seasonally-driven restaurant (Michelin Guide recommended) by Executive Chef Jeffrey Wall serving coastal, wood-fired cuisine with French undertones. We are inspired by the Central Coast region and its world-renowned farms. Our goal is to bring you a dining experience that blends sophistication and comfort with our unyielding passion for graceful hospitality, and a menu that reflects California’s abundant produce and the best regional purveyors.

The food was outstanding. Large appetizers. Tempura Zucchini was HUGE! Our server Enzo was great! 🌟

What a meal!! This was my first time at Alederwood. I've walked by 100's of times, but am now back living in Santa Cruz and wanted to take my Mom out for a nice Mother's Day dinner. It did not disappoint. We have the Parmesan popovers and tempura zucchini to start. Both were simply delicious. I got the pork chop and my Mom got the braised pork belly for dinner. Again, they were done perfectly, amazing flavors. To top it all off, my Mom got the creme brulee for desert. She was equally impressed. They service was top notch.

Amazing cocktails. Loved the beef tartare and oysters. Lamb main was a huge portion, and super tender. Scallops were oversalted, but otherwise pretty good. Unfortunately dinner service was a little slow, but the staff was very apologetic and comped us some wine. Would definitely go back next time I'm looking for a special meal in Santa Cruz.

Everything was amazing from the environment, to the service and of course the food and wine. I highly recommend Alderwood to anyone who wants a fine dining experience in Santa Cruz.

A quiet Sunday evening at Alderwood - the zucchini was very good as was the duck. We really liked the profiterole - a very sharable dessert.

Food was super good. Ambience was good but could have been a bit better. Some of the prides for dishes werr questionable. $65 for duck breast? I’m not sure about that $40-50 sounds about right for fine dining. Same with some of the steaks. But overall amazing food and great service

My smoked prime rib was average. I’ve had better at several restaurants for half the price of $55. My wife’s pesto was so bland I could hardly tell it was pesto. The scallops were good, however.
