New hot spot Mexican fushion in La Jolla. Must try the food was so good with unique flavor o have yet to try elsewhere in La Jolla. You have to try the bone in Birria short rib

The Caesar salad was warm and tasteless. I ordered a tequila mule. Tasted odd. Didn’t like the steak either. Ate very little of the meal and ended up at The Spot restaurant to eat. We enjoyed the restaurant that was previously there, Cowboys and Mermaids. Figured we would give the new place a try. Very disappointed !

Very cozy and beautifully decorated. The staff were all very nice and the food was delicious. We ordered the ceviche and it was so good! I would highly recommend the butter cake for dessert, Will definitely be going back soon!

The food is absolutely amazing! Every dish we had was delicious. Mexican corn, rice and beans, Mahi Mahi, ceviche and crispy pork belly were all amazing. Drinks and service were great! Love it, will def be coming back

The aguachile and ceviche were delicious! My caeser salad had good shrimp but the dressing could have been better. My friend's steak was fantastic and the chicken was great! Wonderful service but the restaurant was cold since it was open to the air.

What a great new addition to La Jolla! We came during Happy Hour and really enjoyed the calamari and oysters. The Azul cocktail was delicious and so was the beautiful mocktail Tara made for my wife who doesnt drink. The atmosphere was so inviting we decided to stay and try the ribeye which was HUGE and delicious. Highly recommend and we will definitely be back to try some.of the other beautiful dishes we saw coming from the kitchen!

Cool new spot right in the heart of the village! Love the big, open bar and the beautiful deck with fire pit. It’ll be a summertime spot for us! The ceviche and yellowfin were some of the best I’ve ever had. Highly recommend.

Great new high end Latin food place. Lounge like indoor seating allows for lots of spacing and privacy. Food is amazing.

We are so glad we chose this brand new restaurant during our short stay in San Diego! The restaurant has a cool ambiance, and the service was excellent! The food was absolutely delicious! We had the oysters, the dips, the mahi mahi, the short ribs and several of their sides. Everything was absolutely yummy! Highly recommend this wonderful restaurant!

Food and drinks were excellent . Service was good . Very accommodating… There were 8 of us and we could hear each other but the restaurant wasnt full . Hope they make it !

Let me start by letting you know that we are definitely not going back (and we are locals). The restaurant has a nice decor. There is no management, no interest on customers. They didn’t care what we thought about the food. The Menu is extremely limited, bad explanations, you don’t know if the restaurant is Mexican, Spanish or ?????? And expensive for what it is. They don’t have fresh limes so I don’t understand why they sell tequila. The calabacitas are not squash, they serve you squash blossoms (flor de calabaza). Bar personnel need way more training.

Unfortunately we were very disappointed. To start, while it is Mexican cuisine, there isn't a margarita on the menu. The bar tender made one which was very small and not very good. Prices are hefty. I ordered the Birria which was very fatty, poorly seasoned, and $68. My wife had the yellow fin tuna which wasn't bad, but better just about everywhere else, along with the Elote (street corn) which again is better just about everywhere else. For an appetizer we had the Aguachile (yellowtail) which was good. Many of the dishes are in Spanish and difficult to decipher. Those items and 3 very small, marginal margaritas was right at $250 after tax and gratuity. There is no chips/salsa, bread, or anything of that nature. Seating was comfortable, but only after we rejected the table right inside the door which is part of the waiting area. The restaurant is one large room with no divisions, tables and booths placed around the room, and random lighting. We counted just two waiters, which accounted for the slow but acceptable service. If you drink wine or beer, and choose dishes other than the Birria or Tuna, you will likely enjoy it. And the comfortable chairs count for something.

The portions are small and the food is overpriced. The food is good, but there are so many other restaurants in La Jolla to choose from that are not as expensive. Hopefully, Aldea will not go out of business .

The food was good but seemed quite high priced. The mains were priced on the high side of what you might see at similar restaurants but did not include sides, which had to be ordered and paid for separately. It’s a nice space and the appetizers and small plates were good but price seems too high for mains.

Food was not great/drinks were weird flavors - only 4 tables with people - really quite like too quiet for a restaurantI think they just rebranded mermaids and cowboys this place will not last. Trying to hard and it did not hit. Our server was really sweet and nice so somewhat made up for it ?

The portions were very small. The menu was pretty strange and it was very expensive. We were the only people in this gorgeous remodel of a restaurant.

Wonderful experience as the previous restaurant at same location with different genre and name was terrible. We decided to give Aldea a try for our wedding anniversary. Food and service was outstanding plus we had the bar manager at our table providing us attention and suggestions for their tequila selection. We will definitely return and also tell our friends to try it.

I recently visited an amazing restaurant that I highly recommend. The service was absolutely awesome, with attentive and friendly staff who went above and beyond to make our dining experience memorable. The managers were also great, ensuring that everything ran smoothly and providing excellent customer service. Now let's talk about the food. The restaurant had a great selection of dishes, but what stood out to me were the oysters, Caesar salad, yellowfin tuna, and corn. The oysters were incredibly fresh and flavorful, while the Caesar salad was perfectly balanced with crisp lettuce, creamy dressing, and a hint of garlic. The yellowfin tuna was cooked to perfection, with a tender and meaty texture that melted in my mouth. And the corn was a delightful surprise, sweet and juicy. Overall, I had a fantastic dining experience at this restaurant. The combination of awesome service, great managers, and delicious food made it a memorable visit. I can't wait to go back and try more of their offerings.

Aldea La Jolla is a beautiful and sophisticated dining experience! It lived up to all the hype and definitely will be back! The Aquachili appetizer is a must have and I would also recommend the Filet with a side of papa bravas, it was so delicious!

Aldea is a beautiful venue. I loved everything from the classy bar, to the velvet booths, to the glassware. I am looking forward to the next few months when the outside dining patio, fire pit and warm evenings allow the guests to experience another ambience within the same space. The food was amazing in presentation and taste. We brought our teen age boys who devoured everything and agreed that the food was exceptional. The staff was super friendly and very professional. We look forward to frequenting this new neighborhood restaurant. Welcome to La Jolla, Aldea!

We had a wonderful time! Dining on Alden’s 2nd night we were impress with how polished the Staff and service flow was. The food was fantastic - fresh, seasonal, beautiful to look at and delicious to eat. The restaurant ambiance was warm, relaxed and comfortable. Thrilled La Jolla has this new addition and look forward to returning to try more the menu.

Need the opening weekend kinks worked out. Drinks can out very slow and very small. I think I had three sips of my margarita because it was pack with so much ice. Food was okay….. my chicken seemed underdone but I was assured it wasn’t . Heads up to no kids menu!
